  • Amazing machine! 15 years old and fast, i own it, still using it today!

  • my eMate arrived yesterday and I have a few questions: is there anyway I can play music on it, is there anyway I can connect it to the internet? It didn't come with an original stylus where do you think I could get one? Can you explain to me how I would go about connecting it to my computer? (windows 7 hp with core i5)

  • Cool story, bro. Wake me up when it's over.

  • Apple is far more advanced. Iphone is nothing for them.

  • So basically this is the father for phone n iPod touch

  • Oh! That's so cool it can recognize your handwriting! It's 10 years ahead of the iPhone's technology...

  • it's very nice but its very old and littile bit bigger than the new pda's that one of pda the are used in the under siege the movie lool i like it when it write the fax and send it via the old method phone

  • song?

  • never heard of this before ;)

    looks awesome

    and better than iPhone

  • Handwriting will never be faster than virtual keyboards.

  • I was a regular user of the Newton way back, I did not like the 100 series Newts - 110, 120 and barely the 130 only because the OS was newer. The ultimates were MP2K and eMate. Still useful today for PIM - Getting Things Done, etc. Lame song by the way.

  • newton was wonderful still have a mp100 i use a 9V mains adaptor for it and i have a memory card for it,,,, great little machine,,, thanks for upload,,,,, vid

  • cool i am buying one can i connect it to the computer

  • You can connect it to a pre-USB Mac with an Apple serial cable or to a PC via the old serial port if you have a Newton to serial cable, Apple's Newton Connection Utilities software is used on the PC or Mac to connect to it.

  • @BeigeG3 could you use a serial-USB adaptor, or would i have to use my old Windows 98 machine as a "Interpretor"?

  • I don't know to be honest - I think it would be likely to work better with the real serial port and older hardware and Windows version though.

  • @poopskinTheLiar Yes you can, but the adapter hardware and driver software (results will vary).

  • I love my iPhone, but I find it funny, that both devices have the same screen resolution - even if the whole iPhone, fits inside the Newton's screen!

  • they have the same resolution, meaning that they both generate the same amount of software pixels. However, because the message pad has a bigger screen, these pixels will be streched, a bit like if you play a game in a lower resolution, its streched on the screen

  • The iPhone and the Newton are both good devices.

  • Hello. First of all great video, even music I like.

I wanted to find out hardware information: the Newton 120 runs on batteries (Primary cell) or rechargeable battery such as that of the notebook?

    Thank you!

  • Hiya,

The Newton takes four AA-size batteries, so can take standard disposable ones, rechargeable ones, or there is an Apple-made 4-cell rechargeable pack that fits in the machine and comes with a plug-in charger. They will run off a wall adapter if you don't have any batteries to hand, there is a separate small round backup battery so that it retains your settings when the main batteries are removed.

    Thanks! :-)

  • Awesome dude! im trying to find a good one on ebay atm lol

  • lol i think they use those at the apple store!

  • I am looking forward on buying a Newton 2100 message pad

  • cool can i buy tis off you i have an iphone but i want this now
