I would have asked him if he wanted some of us to try to help. If yes, I would have got out of my lil' Kenny put on my tire chains, hit the air lockers and gently pulled him out, or, at least, given it my best shot. With chain. Would have tried 2 tractors if necessary and available. Real truckers are polite and helpful.

I've seen guys do this on clear and sunny days. Most people know of the Loves in Mt Pleasant Texas. I watched on trucker get pulled out making the right turn onto the service road just to have the driver right behind him do the same thing. Fortunately the wrecker truck was already there, but we had to wait for the idiot to call his company. This is one of those inexcusable incidents.
I bet there was enough snow that he couldn't see the ditch. Nasty mirrors, and a line of trucks waiting to get in. May have been a bad judgment, but I don't know enough to call him a bad truck driver. Crap happens out there, you probably know that. We've all made mistakes, and we all will at some point. Nobody is perfect.

I've pulled trailers behind a 1 ton dually before that made the average truck drivers load look small, know another thing? None of the trailers had any brakes and I pulled them all the way through Colorado mountains and hell on the way back down THE TRUCKS brakes went out. Now before you go trying to defend yourself pull a load. Stop cutting down other drivers because you know not a fucking thing.

Bad weather, possible fatigued from driving all day, 53 foot trailer and fogged mirrors adding limited visibility to an already limited right side mirror view. Lot of things to consider here. @gcso401 That is funny, according to all records for weather data online and not just a state records, point to -60f for February 1996, nothing about -78. Mind you Minnesota did have a record snowfall for the 2010/2011 seasons.

Ill take the word of our local officials over what the state reported or others who dont live near us.

Also checking the archives of the local news stations there is not a story that I could find that relates to a record -78F day. If you find one please link.
