  • hillbilly jim was a man of the people. he would give you the shirt off his back....but not his overalls. if you asked for his overalls those would be fightin words. he was also known to really clean a chicken bone well.

  • Question for you WWE fans: You know it's fake and still like it, why? I'm being serious and not snobbish. I mean we all know movies are fake and everyone loves them, theater has its own fans too...but wrestling, it seems ridiculous to be entertained by Fake fighting. Am I wrong?

    At least MMA is real!

  • @silverberetta17 your a fuckin idiot! you answered your own question!! like you said, movies are fake to! so does that mean if you see a fight scene in a movie, you get up and walk out? im sure theres alot of things that entertain you, that wouldnt entetain me!! show tunes, and gay orgies for example! but i dont go looking for them either! so why did you click on a wrestling video,if you hate wrestling?

  • It would have been a bit more believable if "Jim", who didn't seem to know what he was doing hadn't put Heenan in a Full Nelson as soon as he came into the ring.....

  • If you think Andre was 6'11" then you just have no clue what you are talking about. He was 7'4". I have seen the biography on A&E several times.

  • The do exaggerated wrestler's heights by a couple inches. You are wrong about Andre though. He was billed at 7'6" and was actually 7'4". He was not 6'10". I think anyone could tell that by just looking at him.

  • @eward41 Most of the more trusted reports I've heard said Andre was a solid 6'11". That seems about right to me. Anything over 7' is completely out of the question.

  • Brilliant entertainment for all ages from 3 to 5 !

  • Ah, Ken Patera. Boy, did he ever get saddled with a lame angle.

  • @graph180 You may get "saddled" with an angle... but it's strictly up to the guy to break out and make a name for himself. Steve Austin was saddled with the Ringmaster gimmick...

  • @JohnLeeMD

Yeah but no one in the history of Pro Wrestling has ever been able to "break out" from underneath the dreaded kiss of death that is the "World's Strongest Man" gimmick.

  • Who were Studd and Pateras opponents??

  • hulk hogan raped me

  • dude hillbillys arms are tiny compared

  • Put Hillbilly Jim in the Wrestling Hall of Fame. Find us on Facebook.

  • Hillbilly Jim and Hogan was 2 of those big rubber Wrestling figures that was packaged together back around 84 or 85, back in these years you found some really neat Wrestling items from the WWF just in Wal-Mart alone, now a days you cheaply made products for just about anything.

  • Did you see Heenan at about 1:18 look to his left waiting for Hillbilly Jim to show up? LMAO

  • I had no idea the WWF would be this fake

  • The ref should get mad props for scooping up the scissors that fast

  • 1:59...Crowd signs have come along way since back then.

  • sweet vid , never saw this one !

  • BIG JIM HILLBILLY! HAHA

  • LOL where Vince is saying that Hogan is getting double teamed, even though Rivera had just jumped on top of Studd. I guess jobbers don't count as actual help...

  • man hillbilly jim was so big, at least by wrestling standards back then - his shoulders looked like basketballs!

  • 2:09 hogan's right hand?

  • common the incredible immortal "Hulk"Terry"Hogan"bolea could not get out of a full nelson...and he's the wwf champion..

  • not if the old world strongest man ken patera had it on him

  • W O W I forgot about The Hillbilly! i used to have a action figure that looked just like him n all with the hillybilly outfit. wow old school.

  • Heenan's stable wasn't about to go messing with a country boy.

  • look at that crowd, oh ya, it's 1984 I wounder how many are coke?

  • If you have anymore Hillbilly Jim videos post them. He is a classic

  • omg how stupid. "he's gonna cut his hair" xD xD

  • Jim didn't really save Hogan. Once Hogan broke Patera's nelson, you think Heenan was going to stop Hogan?

  • I guess this event didnt have the "Dont touch the wrestlers" rule that night.. LOL

  • Great example of how anyone could get over if they were associated with Hogan in that era. Don't get me wrong, Hillbilly Jim seems like a nice guy but his wrestling skills and interview skills are far from main event calibur. Simply being associated with Hogan led to a career in WWE that lasted for years.

  • @Derby14 HillBilly Jim was a good wrestler, He entertained many fans.

  • @Derby14 No one says Hillbilly Jim was a main eventer or main event calibur. Thats why he stayed in opening matches and mid card his whole run.

  • @Rayla840 - I agree. My comment was not really meant to diss Hillbilly Jim but more to put over how unbelievably popular Hogan was at the time. No disrespect to the big hillbilly was intended.

  • wow hulk actually had hair once

  • BigJim Hillbilly! Way to go, Vince.

  • In WcW there was always a run-in at the end of every match...

  • jim powers was around that far back? i remember seeing powers on the early monday night raw episodes...

  • Classic Wrestling moment.

  • The "flop" that Bobby Heenan does at 1:28 is hysterical. Brilliant...

  • yeah he was good for that. but it was to make it look good. put over the other guy.

  • @ronschaf1 not as graceful as Ric Flair

  • Sigh! When wrestling was fun to watch.

  • You mean you don't like all the retards who come out to rap music and have no themes other than steroid use? Wrestling died about the time the Rock and Stone Cold hit the scene. Too bad.

  • Your mother said what?

  • what`s wrong with rap and steroids ........... don`t put down my breakfast

  • Ah..... I remember the Headshrinkers, Boink the clown and those redneck guys that used to smell their own armpits :D

  • Hillbilly Jim was HUGE!!!!

he climbed over the rope wid ease!

    Hillbilly Jim a true legend!

i still think he should have innovated teh Hog pen match.

  • I remember the stretch of time when this mysterious giant hillbilly was sitting in the front row at matches on TV, supposedly just an audience member even though the announcers would call attention to him and sometimes wrestlers would pretend to threaten him.

  • yeah i was nine watching the weeks leading up to this and even then i wondered how he could afford to travel around to each venue every week. That would cost a lot to a poor ole country bumpkin from mudlick kentucky!

  • R.I.P Big John Studd

  • The WWF had a tried and true way to portray a wrestler as either good or bad. Save the Hulk and you were regarded as good. Beat up on either Heenan or fued with Piper and you were regarded as bad.

  • As if you could do any better.

  • Hillbilly Jim was Hulk Hogan's only tag partner never to turn on the Hulkster.

  • Jim Okerlund never turned on him and they were tag partners. Brutus Beefcake didn't turn on him in WWF, though he did in WCW as the Butcher, Zodiac, and Disciple. Sting never turned on him. On the contrary, he turned on Sting.

Nothing teaches fans to stay behind the guard rail like showing one of their own jump over it and become a full fledged wrestler. I wonder if they had more fan run-ins after this.

  • I think that counting Gene Okerlund was a bit of a strech. LOL Besides didn't Okerlund side with WCW against Hulk when Hogan joined the NWO?

  • Heh, it was challenging to think of anyone besides Okerlund. If you add his WCW stint it becomes harder. For an even greater challenge, try to think of a tag partner of Sting's that hasn't turned on him.

  • would rufus ever turn on billy ray? would he ever tell miley to stop with the hannah montana name? the answer is no so why would rufus cyrus ever turn on the terry bollea?

  • @Lfdjake91 Just think the WWE missed the boat on THAT one! They could of had the BIG EPIC MAIN EVENT MATCH ~HULK HOGAN VS HILLBILLY JIM~ at a WRESTLE MANIA.Think of the HUGE amount of buyrates for THAT one!

  • @Lfdjake91

When did Mr. T turn on Hogan?

  • @cbaldwinjr I don't count Mr.T because he was not an actual wrestler and only teamed with Hogan once.

  • @Lfdjake91 Really? Brutus Beefcake did? When?

  • @ilikethecoke In WCW.

  • @Lfdjake91 I know it's been 2 years, but I gotta disagree on that... JYD was his partner against the Funks and never turned.

  • @Lfdjake91 When did Edge turn on Hulk Hogan? They were WWE tag champs together.

  • @Lfdjake91 What about the JYD?

  • "Bobby Heenan's gonna cut the hair!" What hair?

  • hogans hair

  • He was implying that Hogan is bald.

Heenan was apperantly going to do Hogan a favor and chop off the scraps.

  • there ain`t no messin with a country boy, there ain`t no messin with a country boy

  • rufus cyrus aka the hillbilly is mileys grandpappy!

  • a fan touches a chair Greg Valentine tries to grab and get beat down by valentine and jumped by half a dozne security guards.. yet "BIG JIM" just walks into the ring and beats up performers and is allowed to join the WWF stable.. LOL!! GOTTA love the Kayfabe days...!

  • If you have anymore Hillbilly Jim videos please play them. I am a huge fan.

  • lol he dropped his steroids on the way to the ring.

  • HillyBilly Jim lives across the road from my teacher actually lives in bowling green kentucky hes 6"6 and weights 280 he said hes a nice guy and hes always helping alot of school programs

  • Cool was that T-vo or wwe on demand,,how do i register for that,,anybody?

  • I taped that when it was on in 1984.

  • @AdoribleAdrian so ur an old man?

  • hey man i live in india i want to ask u whether all those 1980;s from 1980 to 1990 wwf programmes superstars prime time tuesday night titans wrestling challenege king of the rings saturday night main evnt are available in usa.

    if so what they cost.

for example 1 epiosode of superstars cost how many dollars.?

  • Was it just me or did it actually look like Hogan was taller than Hillbilly Jim?Because they billed Hulk at 6'8 and Hillbilly at 6'10.

  • They inflated the height all the time. Andre' was 6'10", but they always said he was 7'5". I think Hulk is actually 6'5".

  • awesome vid!!!!!

  • horseshit

  • I think Andre due to that disease he had got taller over the years. But yeah they always inflate the weight and height on wrestlers most of the time, like Rey Mysterio they use to book him at 180 and like 5'9 and I bet he barely reaches over 5 foot tall and I doubt he weighs anything over 150.

  • @AdoribleAdrian How tall was Big John Studd and One Man Gang?

  • @terminat1 They said Studd was 6'10'', but I think he was really about 6'6". I'm not sure about OMG.

  • @AdoribleAdrian Gang was about 6'5, touch taller than Hulk..

  • @AdoribleAdrian - You're waaay off! Big John Studd WAS indeed 6'10"and Andre was definitely 7'4'! By the mid-eighties, Andre was so huge that he couldn't stand up straight any longer, so he appeared to be shorter than he was.

For future reference, King Kong Bundy was 6'5", OMG was 6'9" and Hogan was LEGITAMATELY 6'8" until he stopped using steroids in 1991. By 1993 he was about 6'5"and 1/2. Please get your facts straight before you post comments as rumors like this are extremely annoying!

  • @MrJon76 They are not rumors - it is just people posting what they "think" is correct. If you are right and they are wrong then fine but everyone has a right to post what they think

  • @gfunkenterprises - I'm just trying to get to the FACTS. When some people read things online, they take it as gospel. This Is how "rumors" or urban legends, if you will, get started! I remember the one about the Ultimate Warrior dying. The guy highlighted his hair and had his teeth capped, and some people assumed it was Kerry Von Erich! That rumor always irked me because the two clearly have different physiques! They even teamed together in World Class and at the 1990 Survivor Series! Ugh!

  • @AdoribleAdrian i think they said omg was 6:8 but he was relly about 6:3

  • @iownyourcornershop - Where do you guys get your information? OMG was 6' 9' and weighed 468 lbs! Hogan in the '80s was 6' 8'. John Studd was 6' 10', Hillbilly Jim was 6' 7', Andre was 7' 4' and Bundy was 6' 5' and weighed 458 lbs. I know the WWF has lied about a lot of things, but wrestler's physical proportions? C'mon! I KNOW that these heights were accurate because I've seen these guys in person! Granted Hogan is now about 6' 5' 1/2 because he stopped using in late '91, but let's get real!

  • @AdoribleAdrian Yeah at WM II Studd stood toe-to-toe with 6'5" Bill Fralic and he was maybe 1/2" taller at most. Most wrestler's heights were greatly exaggerated. Adrian's numbers match up with what I've heard from other sources.

  • @Bleak5170 Bill Fralic was 6'10'!

  • @MrJon76 Lol, Bill Fralic was NOT 6'10". He was listed at 6'5" when he played which is accurate. BJS was probably no more than 6'6".

  • @Bleak5170 and Hogan was billed 6'8"

  • @robertmilvae . Hogan wore cowboy boots with three inch heels sometimes in those days -not during real matches but in interviews and when making public appearances...Andre was in fact 7 feet on the nose...Hogan was 6-8 with heels...

  • @robertmilvae hillbilly was billed at 6'7. hogan is actually 6'4.

  • @robertmilvae - Hillbilly Jim was 6'7". Hogan actually WAS 6'8" until he stopped using steroids! NOW he's about 6'5" & 1/2.

  • Hillybilly Jim musta been out getting a hotdog when Hogan entered the ring. It seemed like Heenan & Hogan had to stall a little until Jim entered the ring.

  • I've interviewed the HillBilly. Still associated with WWE to this day!

  • Hillbilly Jim was showing up as a fan for quite a few weeks and this match was the very first time he entered the ring. Pretty classic moment. That was shortly after Andre the Giantt got his hair cut by them a few weeks wearlier. Ah, the good old days!

  • A few years later, old age took care of Hogan's hair.

  • cut what hair? Hogan is a pederass

  • the hair in the back you piece of blind garbage

  • Just as Patera & Studd are about to lay some heavy shit on the Hulk...

  • How did Vince know his name if he jumped from the crowd? ;-)

  • He had been in the audience for a few weeks and had been a guest on Piper's Pit before this.

  • Who would have ever thought Hilbilly would still be employed by WWE?

  • Remember reading about this at the time but never saw the video until now. Thanks
