  • Tony Hicks is lovely xxx

  • They really were Fantastic, loved the harmonies, and hey they sure were the cutest looking guys, ok handsome then :D for sure!

  • I remember buying tickets for a Hollies reunion in Los Angeles around 1984 or so...the tour was cancelled. Always wanted to see them live.

  • I photographed the Hollies in 1977 in Canada. To see the shots go to ianmarkmusicphotos (.com)

  • EPIC. A mix of all my favorite Hollies tunes. GREAT GREAT GREAT UNREMARKABLY GREAT video.

  • @IBeGodly A special treat, for sure. Be well, my friend x

  • Great but where was Carrie Ann and Long Cool Woman 2 huge hits

  • this group is BeaTles caliber in terms of vocals, musicianship and stage presence.

  • @baseballeddie1177 YES you are right The hollies is of the same caliber as the Beatles, i was the lead guitarist of our groups we are al around band we have female soloist so we play Brendas song, jerry Vale and others now if we play The Beatles the audience gone crazy if we played The Holiies the group jumps high gone berserk as for me i never compare one group to another group because each have unique original style as we say in general what is good for you may not be good for others

  • top level vocals, possibly best ever for any group.

  • Tony looks like a teenager!

  • my nana grew up with them!!!

  • I was a teenager when I first heard the hollies and I was a fan from the first time I heard them. They were different and had a unique sound and were very clever guys.

There was not a comparison issue going on at the time because there was a great deal to choose from and you could grasp and arm full of musicians/artists and enjoy them for what they were, great times, we are fortunate to have had the hollies and I don`t know a bad hollies track

  • These guys were great

  • i love reggae but when i heard this i love it too....great beats

  • Great group!!!

Shame that their miming to the original records though on this performance :(

  • The comparison with the Beatles or any other group is really unecessary. The Hollies were quite a huge group themselves both in UK and worldwide. The fact that they "still exist" is testimony to this.

  • THE HOLLIES MEDLEY MAKE ME REMMEBER WHEN I WAS 20 AND LOVE THE TOP BRITISH POP GROUPS LIKE THE TREMELOES THE HERMANS HERMITTS THE DAVE DEE, DOZY, BEAKY, MICH AND TICH AND THE HOLLIES OF COURSE... I AM VERY HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE GROUPS ON YOU TUBE TODATE THANKS YOU TUBE

  • Just a brilliant band. The bands Band.I was fortunate enough to meet Bobby in my time in Nelson.

  • hollies take me back to those great times

  • How good is Tony Hicks gutiar playing? And Grahams singing can still be heard!! Gotta love Bus Stop. Better than anything The Beatles did lol

  • @glencruitt How is it better than anything the Beatles did? They were a good band with their own sound and created excellent music. Don't compare bands based on one song. I'm sick of the stupid remarks always making one band out to be better than the Beatles.

  • @sapphiretaurus Maybe I should have preceded that comment with 'In My Honest Opinion'. Although I did add a 'lol' so it was slightly tongue in cheek. Please don't take it too seriously, it is meant to be a fun comment!

  • @sapphiretaurus Gotta agree. The Hollies were great but comparison with the Beatles isn't fair to anybody. Some folks have made the same comment regarding The Searchers in the replies to some of my posted vids and it's just not on folks.

  • @dbailey62 Thank you! I'm glad someone has finally agreed with me. I see these comments all the time on Kinks and Dave Clark Five videos, and it's just so irritating.

  • @glencruitt they are playbacking... but nice songs!

  • so great! Besos deste Espania!

  • the drummer has my first name as his last name LUV IT!!!

  • the Hollies ,love them. they were better than the over rated ;stones'!! next to the BEATLES, the HOLLIES rule... with Allen Clark of course....

  • I remember watching this when I was 16! I had forgotten how good they were, luckily my mum had kept all of her old 45's so we dug them out and played them all again. My sister was 7 at the time and she loved it too and still does now. Great vid, as always! Thanks x

  • Should've been longer but grateful just the same. Thanx for the post.

  • Nice to see the bassist who I am sure is Eric Haydock the original bass player when the group was founded.

  • i like the bass line in all these songs, Eric Haydock played cool! he deserves a thanks for we all ! like good hollies fans

  • So sad and disappointing that Tony won't be at the ceremony. I was SO looking forward to seeing them together again, even for a short bit. The RRHOF folks should announce inductees and ceremony date much earlier than they do giving them a chance to schedule their gigs properly. Tony never even comes to the US anymore..it's really sad. Hope he realizes he has fans here that love him too.

  • Allan Clarke & Graham Nash will be attending the ceremony in March. Tony Hicks and the current band are appearing at the London Palladium on the same day.

  • There is no excuse for Tony and Bobby not reschedueling the Palladium gig! Two member of Maroon 5 will be performing with Graham Nash, performing Hollies song. Let's hope Terry shows up!

  • @hollies65 Ya well Terry did show up and we they didn't want anything to do with him ... or Bernie ... or Eric. They were at separate table from Graham and Allan approximately 200 feet distance away. Not all is well in Holliesland.

  • @dbailey62 Did you not see Allan shake hands with Bernie, and hear Graham tell the audience that Eric is a great bass player? Eric had legal problems from using the Hollies' name when he was performing, and he and Allan had problems going back to the eighties when Eric told a tabloid some stories about Allan's womanizing behavior. A separate company did the event planning for this ceremony, and they were the ones who decided who sat where.

  • @sapphiretaurus Sure I saw that. It was very nice to see. I was actually surprised to see Eric there because of the past legal issues but it's good to see they managed to get past that.

Well, if you're correct that a company handled the seating, they should never be used again as obviously they don't have a clue as to what they're doing. I can tell you that none of that information was conveyed to Sylvester or the others who were very insulted by the perceived slight.

  • @dbailey62 Someone on the Hollies' official message board said that he knew a woman who worked for the agency that did the planning. She didn't mention the seating, but I know that is how these companies work. There are caterers and even the hotel management that get involved.

  • @dbailey62 I don't know how they decided on the seating, but Bernie and Terry also brought their wives, and maybe the tables only seated up to six people, so the event planners decided it was better to seat them with their spouses rather than put all the bandmembers together. I never heard Bernie or Eric complain about being slighted.

  • @sapphiretaurus Of course they're not active musicians while Sylvester is. They also weren't vocalists while Sylvester was. You may be quite right regarding the size of the tables and such but I would say that a group that is being inducted as a group should at least be at adjoining tables. It only makes sense.

  • @dbailey62 Again, blame it on the event planners. Graham was trying to make sure everything went well for Allan, so it would seem implausible for him to fuss over them being seated too close to Terry. Even Graham's wife and two of his children, and Allan's son, were seated on the opposite side of the room.

  • @sapphiretaurus Yup, ok. It's just unfortunate that it happened and equally unfortunate that the whole issue is so cloudy. In terms of Allan, it is my understanding that he isn't well. We know about his vocal chord issues of course but has there been any other publicly disseminated information about Clarke's health?

  • @dbailey62 I've never heard anything about Allan's health as of late. I hope whatever you heard are only rumors.

  • @sapphiretaurus No, nothing specific, just a "he's not well". That's not very helpful though. Hopefully all is ok with him. Perhaps it was a reference to his damaged throat.

  • @dbailey62 It would seem petty on anyone's part to make a fuss over where they are sitting, or demand that they not be seated with somone. That sounds like junior high school behavior. I don't even think the event planners or the HOF people knew about the Hollies' history or the problems some bandmembers had with one another.

  • @sapphiretaurus To the best of my knowledge, there were no major problems between band members. The only obvious possible problem would have been the "Eric Haydock Hollies" thing but thankfully that seems to have been smoothed over. They are still business partners of course. Hollies Inc. consists of equal parts Allan, Graham, Terry, Tony, Bernie and Bobby. Ah well, more will come out soon. That I can guarantee. ;)

  • @dbailey62 There were some other issues which were not common knowledge. I was told this by someone who knew some people who were friends with some of the bandmembers.

  • Will somebody PLEASE be so kind as to put a YouTube of The Hollies at the upcoming March 15, 2010 R&R Hall of Fame Induction ,for those of us who have no way of viewing it live? PLEASE put a YouTube asap and we'll be eagerly awaiting to see our HOLLIES!!!!!!!! Thank you so very much!!!!!!!

  • @108yoga they already did you can look it up on you tube

  • What a great clip, hope to see more of the same on March 15th. I really can`t wait as a big British Invasion fan. I loved these guys...

  • The most underrated group possibly in the history of pop music. Look at the talent in this video alone. I loved all of their songs and to this day have wondered why it took so long for them to be recognized by the RRHOF!

  • No doubt the producer for this programme got the idea of the melody from StarsOn45.

Thump Clap, Thump Clap, Thump Clap.....

  • I meant MEDLEY, not melody ;~)

  • The Hollies was one of my faviorte groups in the sixties----I also like Union Gap and in the seventies and eighties I like Hart--but I had all the Hollies 45's and their albuns--Lost all that when my folks had a house fire--anyway what ever rewards the Hollies can get---they were one of the best.

  • Congrats to all the Hollies for a well deserved overdue induction into the RRHOF! We love you!

  • AMAZING BAND!!!

  • Congratulation to The Hollies! They have been chosen for the RRHOF induction 2010 class! Well deserved and way past overdue!

  • did they ever have a song in the 1970s with the woirds "she loves me" in it?

heard it on a retro rock station in 1992 and it had a youthful male voice like the hollies lead singer but an early to mid 1970s music sound

  • gr8 I never knew that all original members reunited ,I wonder how long it lasted for and also how the new members of the group at the time felt about there peers coming back and kickin em out

  • it was only for the tv programme

  • Nope - it was released as a single in the UK and went Top 10

  • All the way to RRHOF

  • So many hits, yet so underrated by the music media

  • were they in the shadow of the Beatles? Cos other than that I don't understand how they were so underrated

  • They were not in the shadow of the Beatles. They had inept management that did not promote them well, and even members of the Hollies themselves did not make themselves available for more interviews or try to be more outgoing in dealing with the media.

  • Yeah, Tony still looking great!

  • 1981? Tony Hicks hadn't aged a DAY! That's incredible...

  • This is the real legacy of the explosive Clarke-Nash-Hicks era! Listen to the songs, the voicing that no other group can imitate! They're alive, so alive and they are one of the era's greatest! Wonder how we can convince those knuckleheads that the Hollies are way overdue for their rightful spot in R&R HOF ????

  • Absolutely agree with you. Perhaps this is the year they're done right by at last. For one thing, the RRHoF really owe it to Graham in particular because he has often done things for them.

  • Agreed 100%. The Hollies are peerless!!

A nomination is a step in the right direction....fingers crossed for induction in '10.

  • A little slice of heaven, that's what this is!

  • I love this group do you have the continuationof their medly songif you don't mind i'mvery thankful for this video i love all the music of the 50s 60 and 70 i collect them all since then thanks for theposting johnpaul phil.

  • Wonder why they took off the other video of this reunion, including the song "Long Cool Woman In A Black Dress"? It was called "Holliedaze"? Anyone know?

  • the hollies were the quintessential pop group, way more pop than the beatles in the 60s. it's interesting to note that they kept making pop songs like "carrie ann" at a point when everybody else was going psychedelic or blues.

  • Miming at it's very best, they even had the cheek to mime to their original recordings.......Quality

  • Has that "Stars On 45" feel to it -- sort of the thing to do back in the early '80s. There was the "Beatles Movie Medley" and Beach Boys medley that were both big hits back then -- along with the Beatles sounding "Stars On 45" medley that went to #1.

  • Ahhhh, yes the reunited Hollies. How tight is this some 15-17 years beyond the original recordings of these. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to get off their ***** and induct the Hollies. What more proof do you need than to listen to this great clip?

  • I liked the studio version better, however that's the case with almost everything I've ever heard by any artist I've ever heard.

  • They were having so much fun. Wish Graham would organize a US reunion tour.

  • Found myself singing along to this & knowing all the words ! Graham looks hot & Tony looks soooooooooo CUTE CUTE CUTE . Why did they have to grow old like the rest of us ? Saw Graham a week ago with Stills & Crosby at Edinburgh Castle in concert now in thier 60's (67 I think )

  • original recordings - how did you get the lips to sync up so well? was this a promo for a tour back in arly 80's? played with teh Hollies in Chicago - 1968 - that was a blast !

  • Thanks. This was from a British show called "Top of the Pops" where the acts all lip-synched. You played with the Hollies in Chicago in '68? Wow! In what venue and where you in a band too?

  • That Tony Hicks is adorable!! The drummer Bobby Elliot is the greatest! and this band is one of the greatest bands there ever was.

  • These guys were the best!!! Wish I could have been there to see the show.

  • Never new Nash went back to the Hollies.

    Excellent.

  • Graham Nash did indeed spend a few weeks with the Hollies and cut a CD "What goes around" it is available on e Bay quite cheaply. Sadly nothing spectacular but a must for Hollies/Nash fans.

  • AWSOME..........brilliant, especially with the volume pumped up, shame about how it cut out in the middle of a song though, but excellent quality excellent, thanks for posting

  • That Tony HIcks is a cutie.

  • That Tony Hicks is a doll.

  • The Hollies... had the most AWESOME harmony of any other band of it's time !! ~

  • FIRST TIME I VE SAW THEM IN COLOUR LOL

  • The Band and this kind of music comes unfortunately never back.

  • this band is so good!

  • Looking at this stunning production once again. Believe your eyes... Tony is cute, Allan looks great and the one and only Graham Nash is a smash.

  • what ever happen to these guys unbelieveable group

  • All my favorites from early Hollies.

  • sounds like one of those stars on 45 things. cool though.

  • I'd be curious to know what songs came after Bus Stop on this Holliedaze track. Still love this by the way.:)

  • I can't remember but I've got it on record somewhere along with the B-side Holliepops.

  • What a fantastic band - greatest ever.

  • Allan, Graham & Tony had such a tight harmony and NEVER sounded better than on this medley. Thanks for sharing. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs another British Invasion band.

  • adoro a los hollies y recuerdo con mucho amor al hombre que cuando yo era una adolescente me hizo ser fan de ellos ...

  • I probably would've been screaming for Graham too since I didn't know anything about the Hollies back then. Plus the fact that Graham is looking pretty hot in this footage. But Allan's the one I dig now.

  • Makes me want to have been there (a teenybopper screaming 'Graham! Graham! at the top of my lungs.) This looks great even if they had to lip sync.

  • Watching and hearing this, all those years after Allan and Graham started it all....bittersweet and beautiful.

  • I wish I was born in England. Thanks for the great video. A Hollies fan forever from Chicago!

  • takes me back to schooldays when we all had crushes on the gorgeous Tony Hicks-Allan has now retired from showbiz but Graham is still working and looking pretty good for his age -loved 60s music -so sad to hear about the passing of the great showman dave dee who was a lovely man and a true gentleman -donna

  • Now, now, Donna...Not ALL for Tony (although he is very cute)...Some of us were screaming ALLAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really loved it !Awesome!

  • I am singing and dancing with all these jewels!! Please don't stop giving us the pleasure to hear and see The Hollies. Saphiretaurus, I love your videos.

  • Me Too times 100!!!!!!!!!

  • Where is Terry Sylvester ?

Nash shows up for the reunion but he left for CSN and Terry did the heavy lifting

  • Terry Sylvester had left the Hollies by the time this medley (called "Holliedaze") was released. And to be fair: Terry wasn't on any of the songs performed here, Nash was in the band when these songs were hits (1964-1966). Even gold old Eric Haydock is back on bass, although he wasn't on the original "I can't let go". This medley was an endeavour to cash in on the "Stars on 45" success by Dutch producer Jaap Eggermont who scored a USA number 1 hit with a medley of sixties hits in 1980.

  • Oh, Mr. Sylvester's ok, but no one sings Graham's own stuff quite like him. Just listen to any version of 'Carrie Anne' without that glorious high voice and you wonder what's missing.

  • @golyg Terry left in 1981.

  • We know that. Top of the Pops policy back then was for bands to lip-synch.

  • I still don't understand why Top Of The Pops did that. I much prefer live performances.

  • It was a Musicians' Union regulation, but I also heard from someone who worked on the show that lead vocals were live, but backing vocals and instruments were pre-recorded. Allan's vocal on "Curly Billy" from 1975 was live.

  • Yes I knew Allans voice on Curly Billy from 1973 was live because it completely overshadows the backing, it is that powerful! I'm not sure if that union regulation existed during the final few years of Top Of The Pops but it annoyed me that so many bands and artists still continued to mime.

  • I have to say I just love this clip. Seeing them all together again singing my favorite songs - just wonderful.

  • I have a smile on my face that might not leave! What a gem this is! Sapphiretaurus you're a genius. I heard that Allan's awesome voice isn't what it was any more(not that I care...he's still our dishy musical hero) but to see them together with Graham like this makes a girl's heart sing. Hurray!

  • They sound just as good as they did when they were wounger!

  • Nash looks just wonderful... what a joy to see this, they've all aged gracefully.

  • This is a fabulous video!! Tony is adorable like always and Graham looks terrific. I'd love to see the entire concert!

    Thanks for posting this, sapphiretaurus!

  • It's my pleasure!

  • Mind Blowing!

  • the most beautiful voices!!!!

  • You are SO right!!!!!

  • If you don't know what you're talking about, it's best to remain silent. Tony and Bobby still perform with the Hollies, and Eric Haydock performs with a band called Class of 64. Allan left because his voice was gone. Graham will gladly do a Hollies reunion if Allan is there, and unless Allan and the others can come to an agreement on that, then there isn't going to one - for now.

  • When did Graham say that he would do a Hollies reunion if Allan was there? That's pretty cool.

  • I don't know when he said it, but I read so on the Hollies' official message board some time ago. The original poster didn't specify where he got the information from, either. That would be great if they could do it, but poor Allan's voice isn't what it used to be.

  • Graham looks so happy to be back playing again with his "buds" in the band. In fact all of them seem to really enjoy this! Please all get together again for a concert tour!

  • TONY looks just fabulous and yes he never ages !!! wow

  • Yes, I remember that medley craze. They even put one out with Beatle hits.

  • Yes,great band, fantastic songs. But I bet they felt pretty stupid having to mime to a rather sloppy and amateurish paste job of their hits, simply to cash in on the "medley craze" that was sweeping the charts in 1981 ("Stars on 45" started it)..a band as great as they were shouldn't have had to stoop this low!!

  • Tony has always had a baby face.

    Forever young.

  • Superb stuff from a local band. Stockport, Manchester,UK here. The Hollies will always be there, such was their music. If you were growing up In those days and had any cred. You definately had some Holles 45's. Pure magic and this vid speaks volumes about them.

Enough said !! Thankyou for posting the vid.

  • how dose toni hicks stay looking so young.

  • PLEASE...Hollies to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!

I think that all Hollies fans can should meet to impel that the hollies enter there.

They deserve this act of justice, because they have been always despised, underrated,

    appreciated with few justice.Thanks...

  • ooooooooo!!!!!! this is very emotional for me to watch these GREAT guys ! so many mems !! love the 'HOLLIES" !!sniffle! sniffle! gotta get a tissue !thanx for sharing !!lyndloo....

  • Great songs, great harmony....of course they are miming here. Loved Clarke`s nasal lead vocal and Nash`s high harmonies.

  • * * * * *

    ahhhhh

  • I really love this clip, it's great to see Graham, Allan and Tony lined up in front performing their hits from the 60s. Hopefully, someday we'll see them that way again.

  • wow this is really cleverly put together. I love the Hollies! They're amazing! I saw them live a month ago- they were anazing!!!

  • What a perfect harmony! Their voices are very mature. They seemed to transcend the popularity they only looked happy singing together again.

  • Tony seems to be in his twenties.

    It is a complete idol.

  • OH GOD !! I cud just cry when I see these guys ! they are brill ! Love Allan !! thanx for posting thanx !!Lyndloo....

  • A real kick ass clip...so good to see them all together like in the old days..man Tony looks the same as in the 60s...so hot!!!!!

  • A so.Thanks.

  • The more I learn about The Hollies, the more I realize how precious this footage really is. They were such great performers!

  • Why does the clip end so appruptly! Just as I'm getting into it.

Graham and Allan are still in great shape for their 40s, a lot of guys go to pot by then. Would love to see pics of Allan today.

  • Someone sent me this clip, and that is where it lead up to.

  • Does Tony Hicks ever age, lol? He looks the same here as he did in those 60s clips.

Does anyone know what induced Graham Nash to appear here? Didn't he think he was too cool with CSN?

  • This was a reunion appearance requested by Top of the Pops. No, Graham Nash did not think he was "too cool" with CSN.

  • This is fantastic-What a great performance from the best band in the world.Luv the fact it's the original line-up and I adore the way that Tony is trying to make all the guys laugh. They all seem so close-all friends together-Thanks so much for this!!!!

  • You're welcome, hon! It's a pleasure to share these with you!

  • does anyone know if Tony's married? (just out of curiosity, I know he's 60) but it's hard to find anything about him online.

  • I'm only 24. I wasn't even born when they were popular but I can listen to them now and they still sound good and relevant. I love Tony Hicks!!! He is so freaking hot. I wish I was around when he was young!!!

  • I'm three years older than you, and I feel the same way! Time travel can't come soon enough!

  • Superb! What a great band! arguably the best harmony band ever! A joy to listen to and great to see Graham Nash with them again! I've only seen them twice....I hope they return to Belfast next year!

  • Hey, Graham Nash came back

  • What a brilliant band - harmonies fantastic

  • LOVE this:D

  • I saw The Hollies last januari in The Netherlands and i can tell you......They're still great!!!Yeah!!

  • Thanks much Sapphiretaurus for posting this...just found it ..one of my favorite 60's bands, and VERY underrated...should be in the Rock HOF...

  • You're welcome, vitaminboy77! Yes, the Hollies should be in the RNRHOF. If the Dave Clark Five and the Ventures can get in this year, there's hope for the Hollies. They were on the list if nominees for induction this year, but didn't get enough votes. We can still hope that will change.

  • Who cares if they r lipsyncing? I love this thanx for sharing !True Hollie fans wouldnt care ! Just watching them perform is awsome!!!

  • Thanks, lyndloo! I agree!

  • One of the BEST medleys of ALL time with some great songs. Allan's voice was better here in 81 than in 65. So Talented, They finally got into the HOF!...What took so long!!! HOLLIES, Always!...PLAY...it...LOUD!!!

  • 49erBW, I need to make a correction. I just checked and the Hollies are not in the HOF!...I believe they were on the list of inductees, but were passed over again!...How stupid! I guess most of the idiots that vote do not know "How Great the HOLLIES" are!...They should have been voted in years ago!...I can see the Hollies before some of the ones that are in there already!...Maybe next year!...Hollies are great and hope to see them in Europe this summer!

  • sapphiretaurus thanks for posting my favorite group ive seen them many times followed them right from there early days in manchester there music still gets me through my dark days

  • You're more than welcome, Rammie321! I love to make other Hollies fans happy! I'm envious of you, too, having seen them way back when! Their music also cheers me up when I'm down.

  • You can hardly see him, but great to see Eric on the P-bass.

  • There IS more? i am DYING to see it!:-) MY GOD! Tony Looks amazing! WOW! is all am gonna say...since ya know am kinda biased! ;-)

  • Can't you feel the love in the air!!?.(Brotherly, that is,just to keep it clear).Allan is sooo happy and comfortable with Mr Nash on his right, who trys to retain his cool, while Tony beams like sunshine, especially at the long, lost Eric Haydock. Happiness is!.
