Tori amos and Maynard are my very top two favorite artists. i love them both so much i wouldnt be able to decide between the two lol. True, their styles are very differnt but they are both incredibly brilliant and genius.
Hey fish014,.. you f#ckin crack smoking retard... You and your m0m aren't shlt but two crack head "dick in the mouth" bltch's. And if your m0m comes around here telling me to let her suck my dlck for 10 bucks again... I'm gonna kill her.
MoparManiac22739 is completely correct and tori has a point.. look up ancient babylonian goddesses.. these babylonian myths are what every religion started out as.
'Asherah', is the 'forbidden goddess' in the bible. She was the wife of Baal, but in time many jews 'married her to jehovah'. Most scholars believe Asherah became 'The Holy Spirit' over time. Of the divinity, only 'The Holy Spirit' is referred to in the feminine in Hebrew.
Her image was, no joke, part of the temple. She was shown as a nude woman straddling the backs of two lions, with one foot on each of their backs. Scholars have since learned that the temple that we were taught about never existed. It existed, but not how they wanted us to believe. The truth was that it was riddled with pagan imagery.
This should come as no shock as even the bible itself clearly reads that Solomon built a pagan temple right next door to the Temple of God and sacrificed babies to the mysterious divinity, 'Moloch'. The problem is that the guilt is cast upon Solomen's wives, even though women had no power and he was king.
Should also state that the hebrews called 'The Holy Spirit', 'The Shekinah', and yes, they consider it to be the feminine side of God. The problem is that many Christians are ignorant of the origins of the religion and so wrongly believe the Holy Spirit is male.
The song really makes no sence. lol but its still good. Maynard and Tori's voices go really well in this song and Tori's piano playing is top-knotch. The video itself isn't in good quality however and the audio is alittle sketchy. Still, good song and video.
Yes, I know what it means. Its about Tori drinking tea and talking to Huhammad about how the feminine part of God had been circumsized, or destroyed if you will, in all the religions of the world, and basically how possible it is that the real God(not just in Christianity, but in religion as a whole) is a Goddess. I simply meant the lyrics are rather odd, but not that the songs meaning made no sence, though I admit that is what it sounded like and I apologie.

This is a epic and classic Tori song.

First (the bad):
1) This isn't the best song by either singer
2) The recording wasn't great
3) Maynard didn't sing as much as Tori
The Great:
1) I just love this; it has nothing to do with the song just the collaboration of the two.
2) When Maynard takes that second verse he hits hard and sings great, the fans (from a Tori concert go wild).
3) I love the way it people from a Tori concert knew MJK. I mean who would have known?
People always doubt Maynards vocals, he has range!

You know what it's about? I doubt it. The song makes perfect sense if you believe what they seem to believe.
Anyway, peace.

I'd say lyrics are ambigous indeed. Still, I love this performance.
