I voted for Mr. Obama with great hope for the future. Now we are nearly twenty-one months into the Obama presidency, and precious little has changed. We are still holding prisoners at Guantanamo, we are still squandering American's wealth in Iraq and Afganistan, we still have a second-rate health-care system. And Obama sold out the people of the Gulf Coast in favor of protecting one of the largest and richest corportations in the world - British Petrolelum. Bush at least we could laugh at.
@doshorchatas Like Bush. I say vote independent. Dem and Rep are both to extreme just polar opposites. Obama is not forward thinking unless socialism is forward thinking

Other than that he doesn't have a good case. He fails to understand that stimulus is just perverting the market and that such recless spending and caring about the deficit "another day" is fatal to both the government and the economy.
He's better than McCain but that doesn't make him good. The lesser of two evils is still evil.
Bush-Bad Guy. Obama-Good Guy. that's the premise Obama won the election on. *sigh* ok, we get it. it's getting old.he also won by running his campain on the idea of Change. Brzezinski? Rahm Emanuel? Look at Obama's cabinet choices. The reason is that Berg assumed, with others who supported the dems, that the DNC had already verified the candidates they offered. He made large contributions, and spent a substantial amount of billable time doing lawyer things for them before Obama's eligibility was questioned. He is also a lover of the Constitution, and, among other things, forsees a serious constitutional crisis, as well as a dangerous precedent being set if Obama's ineligibility is indeed a fact, and he is elected anyway.
Also see Philip Berg's appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the dismissal of his challenge to Obama's eligibility to hold the office of President of the U.S.. You will see that he has a pretty strong case.

WHY OBAMA HAS MY VOTE: One of the most important reasons I will be voting Obama is he is the one who has demonstrated the even temperment to be president. He has always attempted to bring people together. (Remember Bush? Didn't he say he was going to be the "uniter"?) Regardless, I will be praying for our country as we all should.

Both Obama AND McCain voted AGAINST the American people and FOR the wall street bailout. With that vote, BOTH of them voted to destroy the American dollar and with it, the American economy. Unless that destructive, and unconstitutional legislation is reversed in the Supreme Court of the U.S., we WILL witness the TOTAL economic collapse of America. It is a done deal.
While serving in Congress during the late 70s and early 80s, Congressman Paul served on the House Banking committee, where he was a strong advocate for sound monetary policy and an outspoken critic of the Federal Reserve's inflationary measures. He presently serves on the House Committee on Financial Services and the House Committee on Foreign Affairs.
On September 02, 2008, a "Rally for the Republic" was held in the Target Center in Minneapolis, to kickoff America's "Campaign for Liberty". Before a sold out crowd of over 20,000 supporters, and millions of others who watched on tv, Representative Ron Paul delivered his speech about defining our country's place in history. He was introduced by former Rep. Barry Goldwater, Jr. Interested parties may watch the speech on CSPAN's website at the following link:
Neither McCain nor Obama is the lesser of two evils. They are ideologically identical. The only difference between the two is the nature of the lies they tell.
It is myth that Obama cares at all about America or Americans. Same with McCain.
Both McCain and Obama are on the same team. They are both enemies of the Constitution and American liberty. Both are warmongers. As members of the Counsel on Foreign Relations, they are both pushing the elitist globalist agenda. Both of them seek to bankrupt and destroy America through endless wars and wasteful programs, establish the "North American Union", and verichip all citizens. Why do you think Ron Paul has been so consistently marginalized but Obama is covered constantly by FAUX News?
A recent poll of career military personnel found that 68% plan to vote for John McCain and 23% plan to vote for Barack Obama, while 9% were too busy blowing up the Giant Stack of Money that is threatening to strangle the earth.
wesarcher, Ron Paul received more money from active duty military personnel than ALL of the other candidates COMBINED.
I think that the BIG secret may be that Ron Paul actually won all of the primaries, but the true data has been disappeared. It would also not surprise me to hear that Ron Paul or members of his family had been threatened in some diabolical way to force him to drop out of the "official" race.
And when business are taxed and forced to cut jobs in order to keep their profit those middle class people will become unemployed and then enter the lower class.
Do you really expect companies to simply say, "Oh, OK we have higher taxes, lets just accept less profits" get real! They will increase costs and cut expenses, expenses like JOBS!
At my business, we pay more in employee health insurance costs than we pay in business income tax. Obama's plan works better for our business, $3k for each full time job and a 50% tax break on employee health insurance, both us and our employees will be doing better under Obama.
BTW, Obama isn't raising the corporate tax rate and Fact Check found that the number of small businesses affected by the income tax increase would be far below 600,000 - not 23 million as McCain claimed.
Yes, and if the Democrats have a majority in the House & Senate after Nov. 4th, Obama WILL be able to implement virtually anything he wants-This is Not Good!! JUST THE WAY IT FAILED WHEN THE REPUBLICANS HAD ALL 3!! at the same time.
I worry about giving the vast, sweeping, nearly dictatorial power that Bush has taken upon himself to grant the office of the presidency to ANYONE but Ron Paul (because he would abolish them).
Handing such power over to a relative upstart with the highly questionable integrity and credibility of Obama is much more than just a totally bad idea, in my opinion.
Perhaps, BUT-read between the lines, actually just read the lines ! Obama, Biden,Polozzi etc. Will NOT renew the Bush tax cuts. Now I can't stand Bush, But everyone I know(NOT EVEN CLOSE TO RICH) did receive refund/tax break checks! these tax cuts will be cancelled in 2010,2011, & 2012 at least. TO Families making way,way less than $250,000. OBAMA will not discuss this! MCCANE has completely screwed up this whole issue as well. ELECT ALL FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE DEMOCRATS,REPUBLICANS<INDEPENTENTS
According to credible sources (FactCheck*org & Tax Foundation), Obama is only allowing the Bush tax cuts on the top two tax brackets to expire. On the lower four tax brackets, he is lowering taxes.
Everyone making less than $250k/yr will receive a tax break! EVERYONE.
Please review your facts from credible sources before posting (or else you make yourself look like a misinformed fool)
And the other thing is that it shows what Obama will do, or what he wishes to do, or what he think of as an expedient policy, &c. It shows why Obama's promises are better than McCain's, but it has nothing to do to prove the voters that they have any special reason to trust any of these wise and honest persons.
I like voice and delivery here even better than the visual side. I bet the narrator has all the text with single words marked, like at 2:50.
What I don't like in this adversitement is it shows the crew that McCain collaborates with and doesn't show what kind of people Obama collaborates with. I can't say that I'm a very enlightened person or that I know too much of the matter, so that's just an opinion - the president of a country can not execute a policy if it contradicts the account of certain people who help him, on the matter of expediency of this policy. So I would like it a little better if it showed Obama's affiliates.

Well done video. I like Obama. Can someone tell me what bills, policies or ideas listed in this video has Obama actually put forth in the state of Illinois? Specifically? He's been a state Senator for a while now What has he implimented in his home state What bills has he authored or even co-authored in the U.S. Senate
It dosn't have to have passed Can someone help me? Tell me 1 thing I can use to tell people why we should give Obama jurisdiction over the other 49 states & our military?
Obama's energy policy is one thing I don't like about him. I don't think Obama is catching any flack for his cap-and-trade proposals simply because McCain is proposing one too (only a little different,) so it's not a talking point. Obama's position is better than McCain's but that shouldn't be enough.
Excellent teaching tool. It's so easy to understand and remember, and since it is short and to the point, it will hold people's attention. Thank you - I will spread the news. Mickiboop
McCain hides his tax agenda for the largest corporations behind the guise of 'Joe the plumber' and uneducated whites, (McCains largest voter base), buy into it so easily because they just have no real idea what Obama offers for their blindness and the shouting of 'socialist' even when they don't realise that over two thirds of current govt. programs can be seen as 'socialist' by any measure of the term.
This is already a little out of date. Just this month the democratic Iraqi government set plans for provincial elections, one of the most important benchmarks for a "political solution". But the more the Iraqi campaign meets the "benchmarks", the less you hear about it in the news. "If it bleeds, it leads."
He is not totally against it. His main concern is the disposal of the radioactive waste they create. It's not a cure all either and a propable the most costly solution to decrease our dependence of fossil fuels. There has to be a balance of all energy sources in order to create jobs, lower oil consumption and take us away from dependence on foreign countries for our energy. We don't need them blackmailing or controlling our economy.
Awesome! Personally, I've been hoping someone with great vision towards the future, especially as it involves energy and a green society, would come along. It excites me to see the possibility of this happening! McCain's record sure doesn't match what he now says. He even voted against wind energy. It seems to be a backward-looking, middle-east dependent approach. Drilling for oil is not going to help for years and will be limited at best.
Great video, funny how the Republicans call tax cuts for the middle class "socialism" or "welfare" but consider tax cuts for the richest 1% to be "capitalism". Scarier even that some middle class people agree with it, sure lets give huge tax cuts to Hollywood actors and Wall Street executives that the middle class essentially pays for because that is Republican trickle-down economics.
I like Obama! But!Over40%of working Americans DONT PAY taxes because their earnings r below their states min. tax threshhold. If Obama is going to give95%of Americans a tax break including those who dont pay taxes it IS welfare & it IS a bit Socialistic.Lets not kid Rrselves.Obama wants to take $ from people who have a lot &give it to those who dont have enough. Barack is MUCH better than Bush& McCain-but lets not look ignorant! Lets all get off our asses!& hold ALL these politicians accountable!
You have your facts wrong. About 32% of Americans don't pay income tax. They still pay payroll taxes on their earnings - which makes them taxpayers. People who do not pay income tax don't make a living wage (isn't it scary that's 32% of America?) According to the Tax Foundation (where these stats come from) the payroll tax rate has crept up faster than inflation and the rise in incomes, meaning that the individuals not making a living wage are paying more taxes now than they used to.
There are plenty of areas to cut costs in order to put it towards creative nation helping solutions that actually save money and in some instances make money because you create a larger tax base with the growth of jobs, sales, new industries here instead of offshoring everthing. There is a wider picture than just looking at it like these projects are "Apoll-scale" government. After all government works best when it actually looks out for the security of all not just a elite group of money hogs.
the visuals and music nuance the argument rather than emotionally manipulate (the fire and hose imagery --> Iraq is superb)
Intellectually, the line "Obama believes that the middle class is the economic engine" (vs. trickle down) is perfect, it undermines the Republican argument that they alone understand the relation between tax cuts and growth.
Socialism oh whoops typo.. COMMUNISM at its finest. May I please have my ticket to leave the country when we go under?

You so have my vote Barack. You are an inspiration in the way you've conducted your campaign and a true contrast to the other side.
Antgne 3 years ago 3
This is already a little out of date. Just this month the democratic Iraqi government set plans for provincial elections, one of the most important benchmarks for a "political solution". But the more the Iraqi campaign meets the "benchmarks", the less you hear about it in the news. "If it bleeds, it leads."

This is a great video! I must disagree that nuclear is universally a bad idea though. I believe Barack disagrees as well. :)
sandeater 3 years ago 3
He is not totally against it. His main concern is the disposal of the radioactive waste they create. It's not a cure all either and a propable the most costly solution to decrease our dependence of fossil fuels. There has to be a balance of all energy sources in order to create jobs, lower oil consumption and take us away from dependence on foreign countries for our energy. We don't need them blackmailing or controlling our economy.
whatnowgop 3 years ago 5

Excellent overview of the choice before the nation.
Adding to another comment about the irony of Republicans attacking Obama's "socialism":
Wage Inflation for the Working Class = Bad
Asset Inflation for the Wealthy = Good
Socialism for the Working Class = Bad
Socialism for the Wealthy = Good
Average Americans aren't important enough to merit social safety nets.
Wealthy Americans are too important to leave unprotected.
xynz666 3 years ago 11

Lets all get off our asses!& hold ALL these politicians accountable!
imagine316 3 years ago
You have your facts wrong. About 32% of Americans don't pay income tax. They still pay payroll taxes on their earnings - which makes them taxpayers. People who do not pay income tax don't make a living wage (isn't it scary that's 32% of America?) According to the Tax Foundation (where these stats come from) the payroll tax rate has crept up faster than inflation and the rise in incomes, meaning that the individuals not making a living wage are paying more taxes now than they used to.

(I exceeded the allowed character count lol)
however, I do shudder like a Goldwater Republican when I hear Obama talk about "Apollo-scale" govt energy programs (Big Government, yikes!)
999fennelseeds 3 years ago
There are plenty of areas to cut costs in order to put it towards creative nation helping solutions that actually save money and in some instances make money because you create a larger tax base with the growth of jobs, sales, new industries here instead of offshoring everthing. There is a wider picture than just looking at it like these projects are "Apoll-scale" government. After all government works best when it actually looks out for the security of all not just a elite group of money hogs.
whatnowgop 3 years ago 4
excellent!!
I like how you keep IDEAS front and center,
the visuals and music nuance the argument rather than emotionally manipulate (the fire and hose imagery --> Iraq is superb)
Intellectually, the line "Obama believes that the middle class is the economic engine" (vs. trickle down) is perfect, it undermines the Republican argument that they alone understand the relation between tax cuts and growth.
