  • We had one if those. And it was an awesome boat. It was just to small. So we got a 1992 221 four winns liberator.

  • thats what i call a boat!

  • 4700 rpm & 68 mph according to handheld gps

  • How many RPM's were you running right there?

  • What do you mean? Life jackets or hull flotation?? It's all there, just not visible in video..

  • Very nice!!! Where is all the Coast Guard required flotation? :)

  • sweeeet

  • Well that looks a hell of a lot more fun than playing with the 40 hp outboard I am used to.

  • best hole shot ever

  • fuck ya!

  • I've GPS'd it more than that (over 70), but no, it isnt a race boat...I'm not all that concerned with the top speed, it's the getting there that's fun. Keep in mind this is only a 16ft boat... ;)

  • its a 60 to 65 mph boat

    to heavy for anything else

  • it will run about 60 65 mph

  • @huntersmith1989 What will?

  • @corvettekid7684 ur boat its a 60 65 maybe if ur lucky 70mph im not puttin it down i have a cp (california performance) light lay up and it runs79mph at a quarter mile at the drags it takes a light hull to go faster not a hull with a wind sheild

  • There's no such thing as a GMC Cobra Jet.

FORD made the Cobra Jet engine, not GMC, dumby.

  • @13snoopy The boat mfg is GMC (General Marine Corp), boat model is a CobraJet...dumby

  • 454 motor?

  • 454 bored .060 over

  • hard to tell but it looks like a big block....?

  • Yup. Chevy Big Block, 468 cid

  • Ive got a 468 (454 thats been machined) pushin about 550hp on propane in my ol mans 76 GMC. Video will be up here soon

  • Thats a bad ass boat but now 2years later does it still run that good?

  • Runs even better now!! A few changes were made though ;)

  • Although It's hard to tell with the wind noise it sounds like the motor is crapping out on the top end, or maybe It's hitting the rev limiter?

  • It's definately the wind noise. Doesnt sound like that in person...

  • Thanks!! It's definately fun!! For optimum speed, the rooster tail should only be about 1 or 2 ft high. Some guys like to have really high roosters basically to just to show off. Many jetboats do not even have any trim adjustment. Others are modified just to make a big rooster tail. Mine is factory trim...

  • wow, sweet boat man

I hope u have lots of fun with it

I just have one question, when a jet boat is going fast, does it have to have a huge rooster tail on the end? Or is that just preference, and it's possible to maintain speed with the trim down?

  • Nice

  • Actually, mine uses less fuel than my dad's 6 cylinder prop boat, and mine is much much faster. The acceleration of a jet is the fun part. Beats a prop hands down!! And the cornering is amazing...

I wouldnt mind trying out a V-drive sometime too though...

  • Silly rabbit.

  • yep, i think it would be our boat...

(besides the fact that it is not running)

my dad has a (i think) 18' with a 289 hypo in it(propeller driven). it sounds great but i have not gotten to see it run on the water

  • I have an '06 Boss Hoss motorcycle with a 502ci big block, with a Demon 750 double pumper carb... sounds just like your baby... only on land. I put out a rooster-tail of smoke off the back wheel. It's as crazy as what YOU have going on. Niiiiiice!

  • dayum son, kick ass sound

  • nice ride!! thanks for showing it!! i have an 86 cimmerron that has the exact same hull design, what engine have you got and what carb are you using? i'm working on trying to get a set up that my engine is happy with. thanks for any advice you can give!!

  • I'm using a Holley 750 cfm marine carb. There are many variables to getting these setup correctly. I would need more info for specifics...

  • wow that thing is sweet! Crazy rooster tail

  • I want it!!

  • nice...

  • Sexy motor, man!!! Nice response time on that pumper.

    Glad I watched

  • bsbnerzneerznrn

  • wow that motor got up on step fast man...what kind of pump are you using?

  • Thanks!! Yea, she's pretty responsive :) it's just the stock Berk JF pump with a fresh rebuild and "Ultimate Wear Ring"
