  • i love you sigourney

    really great movie

  • Sad

    Movie..

  • i did not understand the ending, was louise the daughter or not?

  • At 1:00-1:02, for couple seconds there, I thought I was seeing Michael Jackson. *sigh* think I'm having nightmares right now.

  • God! Finally I found it! Thank you very much! I saw this movie months ago and I felt in love with this song, but I didn't know it's name.....

  • Im trying to find that sheet music for piano or at least the song at the beginning of the trailer. It's the song in the ending credits!! ANyone knows, thanks!!!!!

  • Painful... can't help thinking of Madeline McCann and what her parents must go thru everyday... I hope to God they find their daughter...SW is excellent... I think the band is The Chills? Maybe not...Maggie, Louise... whatever... this was therapy and for that brief moment she was changed by a false hope... as for "white people" (UmmeAMusicLover) that comment is reverse racism of the worst kind...

  • Silly Americans.. this is a really good film... but why add echo to her shouting? Completely unnecessary!

By the looks of this trailer I wouldn't have watched the film - thank goodness for bbc iplayer!

The beginning of the film is a bit cheesy and predictable... but I suppose everything has to start somewhere... once the two main characters meet though, it gets very, very good! There's some really lovely acting..

  • is louise actually her daughter then or not?

  • almost fell for it...and then it dawned on me:

a banker? someone who commits crimes against decent working people on a daily basis with death in their hearts is not just a victim, but she's kind to the destitute.

but not only that, a cool jazz musician!

that's hollywood state cinema brainwashing you.

  • @funkbebe it's not a piano it's the way martin phillipps plays guitar. i suppose edge from u2 does similar things. but hadrhy haha, the drumming is where it's at though.

  • What's the name of the song at 0:00-0:23? Does anyone know?

The piano sounds soooo beautiful :)

  • The ending piss me off

  • you should all join the facebook group " it is good to meet girl in park , it is better to park meat in girl " !!!

  • why are black dads always buying used cadillacs?

  • what is a movie? is it a bunch of scenes edited together, and then does the final product always tell a story? or is it often a bunch of confusing filler? do the writers and producers know what they're doing here? do they have any idea?

  • The song is called "Pink Frost" and is performed by The Chills :)

  • I just watched this movie and I have to say that I was disappointed with the movie. The movie never really tells you one way or the other whether or not Louise really is the daughter or not. I can only assume she was not because of her inability to tell the truth throughout the entire relationship with Julia. In the ending, did Julie find what she was looking for on the girl's leg or not? This movie could have had a way better ending!!!

  • @elizabethcurtiss she was looking for the birthmark

  • @elizabethcurtiss You seem quite small minded :P I suppose you just like the 'happy endings' in films. I understand, and I know a lot of people who are similar.

However as it stands, the film is so much more powerful... and left me with the feeling: that it doesn't matter whether she is really her daughter or not.. they had bonded so strongly, that it really doesn't matter.. they can still have that mother/daughter relationship... which, to me, says something far more profound.

  • @xxtimetimexx I watched it on iplayer too. It wouldve been a bit unrealistic if louise had been her daughter. I liked it because through the bond that sigourney forged with her, she began to appreciate life and start living again. At the beginning, the whole "new lease of life" was based on a lie and wishful thinking that she had found her daughter but in the end, having found out the truth, she still accepted her and her heart was once again open to love. phew! nice film

  • Sad this movie was not in theathers,or maybe had limited realease, anyway was good as avatar, even better

  • why are white people always losing their kids?

  • ahahahaha

    good one :P

    but it is true....LMAO

  • why are black kids always losing their dads?

  • @TylerBurket black kids don't loose their dads......they are in storage at the grey bar hotel.

  • @esspeajay lol im not really sure what that means, but that was just a comment at someone making a statement about white people losing their kids

  • @TylerBurket grey bar hotel = prison

  • @esspeajay ohhh lmao. i really dotn know why i didnt figure that out.

  • @UmmeAMusicLover yeahhhh..i noticed that too lol

  • @fantasticJm it's not a piano it's the way martin phillipps plays guitar. i suppose edge from u2 does similar things. but hadrhy haha, the drumming is where it's at though.

  • @UmmeAMusicLover because theres no tyler perry movies or shows about kidnapping

  • Too bad the song is not available on Itunes. Good movie :)

  • this shit best b good; im about too watch it

  • I watched that movie yesterday, but I finally didn't get the end... Is she her real daughter or isn't she? On the one hand she had the photo of Julia and the kids, but on the other hand she hasn't a birthmark ?!?!

Hmm...I didn't like the end of that movie, because it doesn't portray the truth well...

    :)

  • I saw that too it was amazing. I think its for the audience to decide if it was her daughter or not. In terms of the character, though julia could find out if Louise was in fact her daughter. She doesn't want to,because if she isn't she will have to cope with the fact that her daughter is gone. It is her only solace that Maggie is alive. She doesn't want that to shatter her again. It was a really slow movie, but it picked up fast towards the end.

  • If she wasn't Julia's real daughter (Maggie), - why did she have a crumpled photo of Julia and her two children, which she took from her own purse? - she placed it in the photo album at the end of the film. I came in on this film part way through and probably missed something.

  • Yes! That's what I wondered about too, MarylewS. And I watched the whole movie. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention.

  • The photo louise had is 1 of her older than the one that julia had,you can't tell if she is realy her daughter

  • The acting is brilliant-but story has a few holes...

  • it wasnt her real daughter, she didnt have the birth mark on the back of her leg

  • If she wasn't Julia's real daughter - why did she have a crumpled photo of Julia and her two children, which she took from her own purse? - she placed it in the photo album.

  • it wasnt julia, it was the woman who brought up louise and her brother stuart

  • If the picture wasn't of Julia, the placement of the photo could change the whole ending. It would have been Louise's way of finally "coming clean" to Julia. And putting her childhood photo with Julia's family photos could have implied that she wanted to be her daughter, though she actually wasn't!! Later on, Julia realizes, for sure, that it wasn't her daughter, but asked her to stay anyway. So it's a happy ending for both characters!

  • Yes! That was it, Dallacin!

It was a dark shot though. I wondered if the birth mark was actually there...

But yeah, that was it. You're right. I'm sure :)

  • was she her real daughter or not ????

    unsatisfactory ending

  • por fa ayudenme nesesito ver esta peli

  • I loved this movie! It looks alot better than the trailer though...This song is one of my favorites btw :D and watch the movie to find out about the daughter thing!

  • was she the real daughter?

  • obviously not..

  • how can i watch it online?

  • I saw this movie and must admit that The Girl in The Park is great drama with brilliant acting - Sigourney Weaver, Kate Bosworth, Alessandro Nivola and Keri Russell

  • was she the real daughter?

  • looks boring, is that the real magie anyways? whats the end?

  • Comment removed

  • is louise actually the real maggie? Is she julias daughter im dieing to know, ive just watched it, a bit dissapointed with the ending reli :(

  • Read the description for the song title and the singer.

By the way, "The Girl in the Park" is on DVD now!!

  • Yeah....just what is that song in the trailer?? I have to know!

  • i love kate boswroth and yeah what is the song in the trailer

  • Dones anybody know the name of the track is plaing during the trailer??? PLEASE

  • Is the film out on DVD in the US, or is it actually getting a release date? I worked on the production, and I've always wanted to see the final product.

  • It is now, for sure. I just rented it from Blockbuster last night.

  • Yes it is. And it's made so beautifully.

Normally I also prefer these Hollywood Blockbusters but this movie is so well made that I couldn't resist. xD

  • It's about a mother who has lost her daughter and meets a girl, who reminds her on her daughter, 16 years later. She gives her a place to sleep and although she recognizes that Louise isn't her daughter in the end, she lets her stay.

Beautiful movie!! A NEED to watch!

  • This movie is so amazing. I loved it. Saw it and fell in love with it. It is so real and pure (sounds strange I know, but so it is). Kate Bosworth and Sigournes Weaver are amazing. I love the story so much.

Does anyone know if there is a soundtrack or score??

  • this film was so boring

wasted like 2 hours watching it

and i didnt even get the end ?

was it her daughter or not

    don't watch this film

  • I really loved the movie! Does anyone know the name of that song in that trailer?

  • how is keri russell? is her part really small?

  • Keri is good, but her part is really small. She is "just" the futur daughter-in-law from Sigourney's character Julia.

  • Does anyone know when this is coming out in the US??

  • I saw this movie via Torrent & it blew me away!! Terrific performances by everyone, esp Kate Bosworth! OMG see this movie if you can!!! Thanks for posting the trailer!
