this is such a good video. i watched it time after time. it's practical and good. thanks very much, hope there will be more videos like this. appreciate it :)
The baton is just perfect. It can help you in any kind of joint locks. I'm a Spanish ex-SpecForces operative and i think that baton and kubotan are the best non-lethal tool for detentions.
I have some of the same techniques in escrima. A wise sensei once told me,"if it works, someone somewhere is already doing it." I have yet to see a technique that I didn't recognize from somewhere. If it works, don't fix it. We all share some of the same heritage. Be respectful to the man people. If the techniques didn't work, they wouldn't keep popping up in other styles.
this look so nice! i live in the netherlands and we have catogerys in the law for weapons and batons are falling under catogery 4 that means i can have one in house! :D so im gonna buy one! btw
Buy a firearm (small pistol), get your CCW (Concealed Carried Weapons) permit, take a few training seminars on the use of deadly force and how to use it should the need arise, and some pepper spray.
You now have a non-lethal option that allows you to escape, and a back-up lethal force that will save your life.
no need to learn fighting techniques anymore israelis just bomb terrorist now a days . they also bomb schools, children, women , babies, elderly and everything else around. idf is no longer a defense force it a occupation force (iof) also is is a land a olive tree stealing force.
JAJAJJA i did aikido for 1 years and the techniques are very similars to this and this techniques are not easy to learn by youtube, go and practise xD
@smallblock2002 Thanks for comment! Nice You like it. Practice well, be safe. If You have questions write. I have more baton techniques on my channel Just look.
I'm impressed ... finally somebody who knows that superfancy blocking or evasion moves don't work in real life if you're up against a baton. What you really need to do: close with the attacker when unarmed! Perfectely executed at 0:55 (even though I'd go with a more powerful counterattack, something seoi-nage'ish or pulling him towards me and delivering an elbow to his face in one fluid move).
Heh a few of those were direct Hapkido moves, in fact number 4, is a knife defense from an overhead strike, one of my favorites. In fact if once you get the weapon controlled at the top, take an extra step forward extend your arms, to completely throw the person off balance. Bring your arms down in a circular motion as you crouch down, you'll shred every ligament in their should and elbow.

@spikerz persons that were teaching or still teach me never studyed Hapkido but these moves are just very similar in many martial arts :) Thaks for Your comment.
I may don't have a technique. But randomly hitting an attacker's hand or hand will really make it painful and will hit him again and again until he will no longer be capable of attacking. Defense as now offense, rather than being ofended first!
very nice video, just one question i have, what baton are you using? or at least what baton do you recommend? i want to purchase one and see that asp batons are top of the line but they seem to be to highly priced. are there any other good brands that are not as expensive?
If you look at the technique carefully and/or try it youself, you will see that the aggressor does not have to continue holding on in technique 2. His hands are caught between your wrist and the baton. At full speed you would probally brake his wrist.
This is a great quality video of Offensive & Defensive->Offensive techniques that are meant for rapid threat elimination. As a former instructor for the US Government & Private Contracting Security Services - - I am extremely impressed and would love to learn more about these wonderful techniques.
Cool video. We use most of these techniques (with weapons and without) in Ninjutsu, the martial art I practice. One of the differences is that we usually wait till after an opponents strikes (evade or direct away) because unless you're going up against somebody specifically with a baton, its unlikely they will try such an open downward strike, even than, going against it is iffy at best, because its strength vs strength, and he's already got gravity going for him.
hey i like this video . a big skill i am training is using a baton while in a wheel chair its pretty damn tricky . i have a disability that limits me to a wheel chair long distances soo i can stand just not for long so i do combat sitting down . its harder then one thinks. any suggestions? message me
Excelent!! Piotrek!!, look I had a car accident and I cant hold a baton with my left hand, may arm is ok, only my hand is messed up, can you help with one handed baton technique videos please??

antsean1959 1 year ago
1. In ACTUAL situation, at full speed, you should rely on LUCK to fully perform this - too complicated.
2. He grabs you, you pull out a baton - and he keeps (just) holding you? NO WAY!
3&4 - CLASSIC! Well done. (props for keeping the mistake, so that people could learn!)
5. You have both of your hands busy, he has his free - BETWEEN you and him... Well, I wouldn't feel safe!!
Overall - some interesting moves and techniques.
