these silver mica capacitors rarely have problems with leakage and capacitance alteration, now the resistors and paper capacitors are trickly role,after 60 years is expected of all....
i just got to work on my espey r-366 have to pull the molded paper and mica caps out may have to do a video on them and dont for get the molded paper caps that are in a backlite case ... 73's
@radiobigman47 If they are genuine mica condensers I would leave them alone until you replace all the usual suspects first, you can usually tell by size and often by the dot code, the ones that he is pulling out are "Micamolds" which are just paper and foil condensers. Some of the black molded Sprague condensers are from the 1960s and are actually paper and Mylar, they aren't as troublesome as the "Black Beauties" which usually have coloured bands on them, or the Sangamo Little Chiefs.
