I got this album right after it was released - it's still one of my most fave-o-rite albums. this is possibly my favorite tune on this album, and ronnies solo is one of my favorite solos of all time. Thanx 4 posting!
This is EPIC. This 12" blew me away when this came out. What a line-up ! Superstars to-a-man. Played this to death right thru' till 1990. Still makes me hyperventilate. One of my all-time favourite purchases from 81', again from 'JIF Records' Chadwell Heath, Romford, Now that was a 'Proper Record Shop'. Side props' for snooker's' Steve (Interesting) Davis, for finding Leon Ware- Why I came to California' for me, when George didn't know where it was. That was so funny, a priceless memory.
I got this track with Double Steal on a demo tape with a Sanyo Walkman in 1981 but with no name of the artists. I took it around the record shops trying to find someone who recognised the artist - discovered Chick Corea along the way. Then one day this was played on Jazz FM so 25 years later I got to down load the complete album at last.
One of the greatest jazz-funk tunes, and one of the greatest collabo, Ronnie Foster,Stanley Clarke,Joe Farrell,John Mclaughlin,Tony Wiliams.Thank you BioBiro for putting this on.
Gr8 track, got the original 12" single and LP - Silk on vinyl, will have to get one of those USB turntables now to download onto my Ipod. Good 2 c some of the more obscure tracks making an appearance on Youtube - keep up the good work - the funky one
