This is so wrong. Gaddafi was not running out of money at all. Totally the opposite. Libya was cash rich with massive gold stores. He was actually in the process of setting up a new African currency which would have liberated the African nations from the US Dollar. Gaddafi had also cut back massivily on army to prevent being invaded under the Weapons of Mass Destruction lie that god Saddam. The mercenaries were actually on the rebels side paid for by the CIA.
Yes, they got the man who provided free healthcare, free education, free loans to his people, including the cities of Benghazzi where Al Qaeda rebels are based, and the man who built a man-made river to draw up water from under the Sahara Desert for his people, including the cities of Benghassi where the rebels came from. Yes, how many countries provide free education, health and loans and use the money from the ol to pay for it? Yes, the man they got, was the only one. Shame on you. RIP Muamar
@4244110 ...said the man who accredit everything bad that happens to a rumored secret society of the intellectual elite that have been in control thoughout history.
Your arogance will not make up for your lack of proof. Sorry. You could as well be religious.
@4244110 US interest in securing foreign oil reserves and the use of military force to defend that interest has been known since WW2 and was officially formulated by the Carter Doctrine. It doesn't matter if US got involved in Libya for oil or not, the NEW WORLD ORDER conspiracy is still left to speculations and belief.
More results of NATO, US, UK and France 'Responsibility to Protect' their mercenary puppets of Benghazi and Misrata from the children of Sirte. Maybe they will be as successful in 'liberating' Sirte as the 'Brigade for Purging Slaves, Black Skin' were in ethnically cleansing Tawergha. The MSM remains silent, continues not to hold NATO and participating countries to account.
Don't the lives of the besieged & bombed supporters of Jamahiriya deserve protection too?
Surely they have the right to overthrow "their" dictators.., Keep in mind the U.S. has played footsies with the Noriega's, Saddam's, Mubarak's and Gadhafi's,... My question is can we keep American tax dollars (noses) out of it?... A One gun, One bullet foreign aid donation.., the international community? NATO, the UN, Arab countries, Europe, and the US foreign policies are " PROFITS", We don't even own our own foreign intelligence or military any more.., 9/11 has proven that.., WMD's proved it
@dan91709....you're the monster who looks at NATO bombing other countries and says "must be spreading democracy", you're the monster who looks at the IMF loan sharking an African state and says "they're just helping them build infrastructure", you look at tyrannical people who want their turn on the throne and say "they're freedom fighters". The way you probably were taught to view the russian revolution is much akin to the reality of the libyan civil war.
@xx1994xxversion2 As a real Marxian Communist and black racist (as indicated on your channel), I'm wondering how you justify your support of a Stalinist-like regime in Libya... Do you think Communism justifies the torture and killings of innocent children and men by Qaddafi that you advocate, or is there some underlying pathology that tells you to hate everything that is noble in the world? Inquiring minds would like to know. Thanks.
@dan91709 lol, I'm not even black. I'm wondering how you can take yourself seriously calling Gaddafi a Stalinist just because you like to lump two people together you don't like, calling Gaddafi a Stalinist is not only a sign of your simplistic analysis but ignorant as well. Do you think liberalism, patriotism and "spreading democracy" justifies bombing and decimating other countries? Or does your pathology tell you these things are noble?
@xx1994xxversion2 I meant what I said. Why don't you explain why're you're a Communist that supports tyranny? Do all Communists support murder and tyranny, or is it just you. Do the voices in your head tell you that a mass murderer is better than THE ENTIRE CIVILIZED WORLD working together to stop it? Or is that only true when the dictator is a sort of religious socialist totalitarian torturer/killer?
@xx1994xxversion2 "Islamo-fascist nazi commie totalitarian baby eating maniac dictator!"
Exactly.
As a Communist, as you claim to be on your channel, why do you support such a miscreant?
Specifically, is your support of a "Islamo-fascist nazi commie totalitarian baby eating maniac dictator!" (as YOU call it) something all communists should do, or is it only your particular warped brand of anti-Americanism that has so little regard for human suffering?
As a freedom loving liberal, as you claim to be, why do you support such a group of miscreants? Is it something all "freedom" loving liberals should do, or just your warped brand of patriotism that has so little regard for human suffering?
@xx1994xxversion2 I have personally seen the nature of the Qaddafi regime. I also have no bias that dictates that anything Europe, NATO, the US, and the UN agree upon must be false. The people of Libya want to throw off their oppressor.
There are plenty of examples of wrong and unilateral actions on the part of self-interested nations throughout the world including the US. This isn't one of them.
For someone that says he believes in the noble nature of man, you've a strange way of showing it.
@xx1994xxversion2 As a communist, how can you in good conscience support a known terrorist, and megalomaniacal despotic ruler that idolized Stalin and has for more than a generation held his people captive through threats, fear, murder, torture, and an iron-fisted state apparatus?
Libya needs help NOW to keep their revolution from devolving into an extremist Islamic dictatorship while you scream like a little girl that the dictator should have been free to slaughter people at will. For shame.
@SuperBenzid ....Any demonstration (armed w/weapons) deserves to be put down by its government.... It's not an demonstration any longer it's an armed conflict... Whom would you debate issues, with weapons in their hands?...
@HiRoader11 All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. Being armed is how you make an unwilling party negotiate. When America freed its country their first step was not to throw their guns away. They fought and then they negotiated. If all people thought as you did the world still strain at the bounds of absolute monarchies.
@HiRoader11...What U say is true, though in this case the rebellion ran with their tails between their leggs... With the Washington DC (spread democracy) interlopers screaming " Human Rights violations" even though the rebels were armed... As a leader of an sovereign country Gadhafi and others were well within their rights to handle rebellion in their borders... Egypt, Tunisia,Syria,Libya didn't interfere in the U.S. (WMD) occupation of Iraq.., What country will interfere with U.S. rebellions?
@HiRoader11 Well without french help during the revolutionary war it is very likely America's revolution would have failed. Since America relied on foreign assistance for its own creation it bears some moral responsibility to help other subjugated peoples on the path to freedom. It is a difficult issue though I admit and America has over-interfered in the recent past. But in this case personally I think the country made the right decision.
@HiRoader11 I think it's amazing that you seem to be suggesting that a people do not have the right to violently oppose tyrannical oppression, wanton murder, and criminal corruption. The Qaddafi family ran Libya like Mafia, complete with murder of anyone that got in their way. Since when is the rule of law, and freedom from human rights violations something that doesn't deserve the support of the international community? NATO, the UN, Arab countries, Europe, and the US did the right thing.
@dan91709 ....., My opinion is how is it the business of the Am.tax payers when their considering budget cuts in domestic programs... Iraq intervention cost $2 billion dollars per week
The US didn't overthrow Kaddafi, the Libyans did. We just helped. John Stewart covered this in regards to the Egyptian people too. We need to stop claiming other peoples' victories
And finally I have watched a lot of video of Gaddafi in the 70s - he was a interesting and charismatic figure - he became more and more paranoid perhaps - it is sad what happened to him - absolute power is a cancer - and we are suffering from it mightily here - the people running this country - are running it into the ground
to all if you really are interested in Libya i highly recommend therealnews history of modern libya - a specialist on libya from U of New Eng - friend of rebel leader jalil - yet extremely fair about officers coup that was v popular 1969 -1975 that brought Gadaffi to power - Gadaffi was an idealist - but many of his policies were disastrous
Gaddafi is not done. This guys is just part off the propaganda. more than 30000 bomb on a small country. Why Why for the stupid American policies. Gaddafi has all the rights in the books to defends his power and his people. The people that are fighting him are real bad ass from Egypt, Tunisia, Qatar. you know what its a genocide going down there. OK i got it American is always right.
They drop 65 bomb on his compound. bombs to clear the roads for the rebels to get in rebels did nothing.
@truebeliever786 I dont support or oppose Gadaffi. My quarrel is not with the rebels - it is with our governments - who have not honestly discussed so many issues - particularly the fact that we never had any talks! So basically this whole intervention has cost more lives by a factor of at least 10 times - than Gaddafi - so now I think Obama is a much bigger murderer - due to either arrogance or stupidity.
@truebeliever786 Cool - now what are we going to do about it? For me - I am trying to reduce all my fed taxes to legal minimum (before i used to not mind paying more for my "fair share" - but i do not believe fed taxes are moral when so much is vacuumed up into deficit militarism - and i think it even encourages wars of plunder "WHY MAKE IT WHEN YOU CAN TAKE IT"
@aligzanduh Yeah that is sooooo true..... The corrupt faggoty so-called democratic governments use people's money to promote war. They should use it to feed the poor and instill better working conditions to worker's in the Third World who work for Multi National Corporations, since many of them earn less than $1 a day working 12 hours straight and that includes children (so much child slave-labour)...
I like you Cenk - and i hope you succeed - but i must throw one punch - if you were really serious about journalism - your most popular videos would not all be about women's climaxes. My videos only get 100s of hits never 1000s - but i research carefully - and i do not caricature people - caricaturing people - means you have shut the door on truth - if you are wrong you look bad forever - the US has no business liberating anybody after Vietnam Iraq and a 100 other corporate wars
Maybe you should poll the Libyans - instead of the beltway - and you will not eat these words - I thought you were a hero for leaving msnbc - but on this one Cenk - you are MSM - would you like to see the burnt bodies all over Libya - that your comments have helped to create? Check out pepe escobar - check out youtube! Get a research staff - you now have blood on your hands - im sorry dude
Cenk Uygur is shortsighted and does not see the bigger picture when it comes to international policy. He should either try harder on research on international policy stories or stick to domestic stories.
It' s too early to declare victory. We do not even know who the next ruler in Libya will be. We do not know the long term effects of the war in Libya. We only know that there have been civilian victims of sanctions and all of the deaths of soldiers and civilians and all of the war injuries for soldiers and civilians. It looks like Obama is wrong so far. Obama also appears to be a war criminal according to human rights international laws with his methods for victory.
What about Bahrain? Why no bombing there Cenk? Why did we only ''helped'' Libyans and not the people of Bahrain? Why? Because the invaders of Bahrain are our allies, the Saudi-Arabian government.
NATO is not about human rights but for capitalist rights. They only helped the rebels because they wanted a fresh regime in Libya. A fresh capitalist democratic regime that would privatise the economy. Gaddafi was a friend of NATO and imperialism. But he was no longer a good business partner.
Interesting analysis, at least something that Obama did right. Unlike the war in Iraq, I had absolutely no opinion on Libya whatsoever because I didn't know much about the situation. The only thing I knew was: The more some lunatic needs to paint his face on walls, pictures, flags, etc. the more likely it is, that he is probably not very popular with the civilians.
@PKtheFirst I am not going anywhere. Of course Saddam Hussein was worse and already had a record of mass-murder. But that was not the reason for going to war in Iraq and it was a full on invasion on all fronts for strategical reasons instead of a reasonable, internationally agreed approach to prevent mass-killings of the uprising majority by supplying them with weapons and enforcing a no-fly-zone so the rebels can reclaim their country.
@devouredbyzombies Are you serious? Not even the White House had a specific plan what they were going to do in Iraq once they took over power and all we knew was a lie. Besides, how does knowing about what is going to happen for a while make up for the wrong reasons behind it? Lybia had to be a quick decision of either supplying and supporting them or leaving them to stand Gadhafi's attack with basically nothing.
lybia was just an easy mark for obama with little opposition. we didnt need to go in there. u wont see an american blitzkrieg in syria (where we are actually seeing proof of civilians being slaughtered unlike lybia) because those boy will can actually fight back. what about iran? nope. than can fight too. lybia was just an easy mark and now its just another iraq. are invasion of iraq was justified as there was proof sadam had those weapons as he had previously used them on his own people.
Qaddafi is a man of his PEOPLE. Libya had great schools, great FREE health, created The Great Manmade River, opposed having the US run HIS country and questioned globalization. Which made him a target. The western media is terrible and extremely biased, but claims to be FREE, but they run story's about boy scouts helping the rebels instead of rebels killing woman and children. Who is the real dictator Qaddafi or the FED ?
You don't know what your talking about. NATO and the UN & UK & US planed to go to war with Libya when they decided to go into Iraq, along with more African countrys and Iran. This is according to retired US General Wesley Clark.
NATO supplied weapons to rebels who are responsible for hundreds of dead civilians, woman and children included. NATO also carried out air strikes across the county for about month, Killing even more civilians, bomb were droped on schools, mosques and innocent people.
@phewdem And I guess if I ask you for any evidence, you will quietly disappear. Come on man, do you really expect anyone to believe that story? You should move to Hollywood and become a writer.
The sad thing is, there is actually a tiny part of me, who believes that this could be true. Nevertheless, Gadhafi was a ruthless dictator so, even if it was true, the worst possible scenario would be that the rebels did as much killing as he has done and would do again. So, I'm glad that nutjob is done.
@schlafanzyk Evidence for what? Its fact that NATO are slaughtering children and woman. Qaddafi has never done any thing of this sort. Qaddafi may have killed and imprisoned people to prevent a mutiny but to be a leader of a COUNTRY u have to maintain control and order. Western media is a propaganda machines, you can question it and do some research. There are some links to Liyban and Russian vids on my channel, google what Putin has to say about what the west is doing. Qaddafi is a true King.
@phewdem Wake up, Putin is a crook himself. He had people killed that speak out against him in his own country just like Gadhafi. You are absolutely right about him being a king, but only cowards support a totalitarian regime. If you want to be a real leader of a country, you have to maintain support from the majority of the people. Why are the Libyans celebrating now? Because they hated him and were afraid of him, except for rebels who were willing to fight and die for their country's freedom.
@schlafanzyk You are an ignorant fool. The majority of people in Libya support Qaddafi. Just because you people are celebrating doesn't mean its true. Libya WAS a free country. Stop reply.
@phewdem A totalitarian regime that does not allow free speech and wants to kill everyone who speaks out against it, is the absolute opposite of a free country. That's a simple and easily comprehensible fact and you are not making any sense trying to convince anyone otherwise. And because you know that, you just keep calling people ignorant over and over again and hope they get tired of it. I don't care how much you love dictators or hate the western nations, Libyans are better off without him.
@schlafanzyk It is lie about Putin. Are you from the USA? You are fooled by your lying mass media. You have only two choices in your president selections in the USA - isn't it a totalitarian regime?
@sarbasov It's not a lie, everybody knows the Russian government is one of the most corrupt "democratic" systems in the world, way more corrupt than the US. I am from Germany and we did not even participate in the air strikes against Gadhafi, although we should have. We did not participate in the war on Iraq though, which was correct. Our media is much more independent and I'm well aware of the lies in the US mass-media. Know there are dozens of presidential candidates before each US election.
@schlafanzyk Why should you have participate in the air strike? Do you really think that you have right to do it? Why did Germans send army to help Gaddafi opponents to win? Do not you know about Libya's independence? It seems that Germany is dependent on the USA like a colony. I agree Russian government is corrupt, but Putin really wants to make his country better. Plus, he does not agree with UN resolution about Libya and Syria and against any war in the world. He prevented a war in Korea.
@sarbasov The attacks on Libya were an emergency decision to stop Gadhafi and his soldiers from killing thousands of innocent people, who disagreed with his regime. That is why many countries felt like they had to do something. Don't give me this stupid USA-colony brainwash talk... if anything the USA depend on Germany now because they are almost completely broke financially. I am against the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. But this was not an invasion, this was a supporting effort to save lives.
@dan91709 Where did I imply that? I never knew opposing a neocolonization and political reaction of a country was undemocratic. What do you actually know about the rebels besides what CNN tells you? The fact that Benghazi was the mafia capital of Libya, the high-ranking leadership of a former Islamist Guantanamo Bay prisoner, the lynching of Black people in Benghazi since rebels took control, the Libyan royal family using this as revenge. Surely this movement will bring democracy.
@xx1994xxversion2 I was merely noting that your post supported the mass murderer rather than the masses.
Smart, though, to include so much disinformation in your repulsive reply. Here on the risky edge of freedom for all of Libya, your indignant support of those poor black mercenaries that came to Libya in search of a job were so ruthlessly hanged by the people they indiscriminately murdered. You must be proud.
@dan91709 Too bad the masses are just being knee-jerked between two tyrannical factions. How do you suppose an apparent mass uprising supported by the most powerful military alliance in the world takes 6 months to overthrow an autocrat? And what did you also think of the massacre of 30 black people in Tripoli by the rebels? Probably just mercenaries. Your also more naive than I thought to actually think the rebels will bring any kind of "freedom" to the Libyan masses.
@xx1994xxversion2 Qaddafi had an army poised to destroy the second largest city in Libya. NATO, supported Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, and others in combination with NATO (largely Britain, France and the US) acted to save lives. The US does NOT import Libyan oil. I suppose you would say the same of the US revolution.
What do I think about a bunch of Qaddafi's dead African mercenaries? I think: "Good riddance."
The people will find liberty because they deserve it.
@dan91709 Too bad those Africans weren't mercenaries. How gullible do you have to be to believe that international relations and states are driven by humanitarianism? This is far from reality. Looking up the word imperialism would probably be helpful. If NATO really was this rose-colored fantasy that you have of them then Saudi Arabia would have had a lot more than a no-fly zone, maybe it's because Saudi Arabia is dictatorship that serves the West's interests. But what happened to saving lives?
@xx1994xxversion2 NATO and its member states are motivated by enlightened self interest. It's simply not in our interest to let a little Hitler run around killing thousands of people. Some things really do transcend borders. Or do you think the US acted in Bosnia to save Muslims because of their nonexistent oil? Grow up.
@dan91709 NATO seems to be fine with the little Hitler running around in Saudi Arabia and several other nations. Gaddafi is no doubt a tyrant but NATO wanting him out has more to do with his work of getting African countries out of their doubt from the IMF than some 'noble humanitarian campaign'. Also, if bombing a country with fighter jets is actually supposed to save lives then they're clearly delusional. You also need some growing up to do if you really buy into the 'empire of liberty' bull.
@xx1994xxversion2 Your argument has devolved. Don't you see the stupidity of what you're saying? First you blame NATO for intervening against the murder of thousands of Libyans by claiming it only wanted Libyan oil. Then you blame NATO for NOT intervening in an oil rich and peaceful country where thousands AREN'T in danger of being murdered.
I suppose you think when NATO intervened with Bosnia that there are invisible oil fields. Some people seem to need enemies - and you're a good example.
@dan91709 It is amazing that so many people have bought into this "thousands of people were about to be murdered" bullshit. It is an insanely irrational and downright stupid policy to go bombing the shit out of a nation because someone made a verbal threat. I would bet thousands of people HAVE BEEN killed in Libya since the NATO war began. The killing has just begun.
@marcquestion617 Point of fact: We didn't "bomb the $h%t out of the country. NATO warned Qaddafi not to bombard his own city Benghazi. He was shelling homes with missiles and tanks, and he proclaimed that he was going to make the streets run with blood. You may think that's just the way Arab leaders talk, but TRY to keep in mind that he was actually DOING IT. We did bomb the crap out of any army contingent that continued attacks. Then we decided the lying murderer had to go. Simple as that. :)
@xx1994xxversion2 You claim NATO intervened to stop Qaddafi from killing his people... because they DON'T want Africa to repay their debt? (guffaw) Boy, are you actually trying to throw your twisted conspiracy theory kitchen sink into this? ROTFLMAO! I know you're not kidding, but JEEBUS! LOL! So, in the midst of a world financial crises, Europe DOESN'T want to be repaid? Holly Mackerel. Wow. You should win an award. Really. You should. HAHAHAHA!
@dan91709 xx1994xxversion2 has a point. Bottom line is that very soon private oil companies are going to start sucking on Libyan teet. It would take a fool not to realize that this was a major part of the motivation to remove a leader under the guise of "protecting civilizing." A bit of advice, Governments often tell you one thing when they mean something else.
@marcquestion617 I have news for you. Oil companies have been drilling in Libya for decades. If anything, the war could easily have cost the allies billions of dollars they invested in Libya. With regard to governments misleading people, sure they do. On the other hand, you can use your head and realize that there was no reason to "invade" (without ANY occupying forces) because Europe already had access to the oil. Think about it before you spew. M'kay?
@dan91709 "M'kay"? What kind of asshole writes like that? Look, Libyan oil has been mostly nationalized for decades. If you're paying attention you'll know that foreign oil companies are foaming at the mouth right now for Libyan oil. Look it up! Look up Oil Contracts Libya, asshole. Beside that what baffles me is your stupidity in accepting this "thousands were about to be murdered" bullshit. They fed you that bullshit and you ate it.
@marcquestion617 LMAO! You assume that any time Arabs, NATO, the UN, and the US act TOGETHER its because oil companies want to steal oil? Please. Qaddafi pays a lot of people like you.
Have you seen the news today? The Syrian Attorney General has resigned because their evil government is torturing and killing peaceful protesters and destroying homes with people inside. If NATO, the UN, Arab countries, and the US decide to topple that government, keep your silly theories to yourself. M'kay?
@dan91709 The US has killed more people through state violence than all other countries put together since 1963 (the year i was born) We have lost any moral authority now - i too supported intervention - but by refusing to engage in talks we destroyed an entire country because of our hatred of 1 man.
@dan91709 Dan lets be honest w ea othr. What type of attitude is needed for talks? We treated Qathafi like a piece of shit. The problem is Libya will be hell for years as well as Africa - because of the leak of millions of small arms. No serious talks were attempted. Had they seriously been attempted - a high level NATO delegation shaking hands with Loyalist reps at a big table the atmosphere would have relaxed now all the soldiers families will be filled w hatred. its our fault this will happen
@aligzanduh In all honesty, Qaddafi rejected talks. He rejects them now. He genuinely thinks he is a prophet elected by GOD to rule Libyans with an iron fist. Have you read his "Green Book?" Get a copy. He is insane.
As a matter of fact, there's an amnesty for the former soldiers of Qaddafi that aren't mass murderers.
How many innocent people does someone have to kill before YOU think the time for talk is over?
@dan91709 Well its not what you do - its how you do it - we never gave the loyalist government respect - the operation was probably preorganized (Operation S Mistral) we have alienated numerous countries by using a resolution to calm a situation down - and instead dropped 7,000 plane loads of bombs. Gadaffi was a symbol to many of throwing off a puppet colonial government - the CIA was trying to topple him in the early 90s Reagan bombed Tripoli and Benghazi - virtually every govt has blood
@dan91709 As fas as talks goes. The rebels said and Clinton - Gadaffi must step down - prior to talks - that makes talks impossible - the rebels sit back while NATO bombs - letting the very powers that subjugated Libya do their work - how can you say Gadaffi rejected talks - when the precondition was that he resign? Gadaffi is a mixed figure he is not Saddam Hussein - and he is not Thomas Jefferson - Name me a govt that has not killed people - Yes I support democracy in Libya - but not ala Iraq
@dan91709 But I respect your point of view - i have acquaintances involved in getting rid of him - although I almost have lost my friendships with them over this :-(
@dan91709 I can't get over this "M'kay" shit. Why not just write "I'm a brainless asshole."? You could write that instead of saying that bullshit about the murder of the Libyan masses. Dude, I'm sorry, but if you believe that the US/NATO has a crystal ball and actually predicted this mass murder, you're a brainless slave. You are the problem with the world. How can you support this shit? Is Libya better off having been at war the past 7 months with many more months of geurilla warfare to come?
@marcquestion617 Didn't have to "predict" it. Qaddafi announced his intentions and started doing it, M'Kay?
Get over it.
Yes, Libya is better off without Qaddafi. I'm not saying it. The Libyan people are saying it - or don't you know any Libyans? If not, then you're just a troll that likes to invent wild theories. Go back to your cave... ....M'Kay?
@dan91709 Better off? Like the destroyed nation of Iraq is better off without Saddam whom we overthrew 2 bring democracy N rid the world of Iraq's WMD? Libya's better off run by a puppet gov't or under NTC's proposed sharia law? We continue 2 bomb Libya 4 the protection of Libyan citizens, right? We'll continue bombing for months or years more for Libya's "protection" right? Obama tells you "thousands were about to be murdered, we have to start bombing." and you believe it. You're a fool.
@dan91709 It's already very clear what a stupid idea this Libya "intervention" was. In the coming months it will become more and more clear. I wonder if jack-offs like you will continue to defend this stupidity as chaos ensues, the same way the Iraq war cheerleaders did after it was confirmed that that war was a fuckup...
@marcquestion617 I'm glad you weren't around at the time of the American revolution. Your colorful language alone indicates your intellectual prowess. Suffice to say that I support the right of the Libyan people to self determination. That means that I don't think outside powers should prop-up a murderous dictatorships. It also means that I agree that when a mad dictator starts to kill thousands of people within reach of our capacity to stop him, we (the world) should. Now scuttle off, you worm.
@dan91709 War against foreign countries only happens when the moneyed classes think they can profit from it - George Orewll..... Think about it asshole. You're one of these fools who believes that the U.S. gov't is on the side of truth and justice and democracy. Either that or you believe that as long as it's a democrat that's doing the bombing, then it's bombing out of benevolence. Libya is just another country we're now destroying out of thirst for power and control.
@dan91709 You claim that NATO actually cares about Gaddafi killing people yet they're fully supporting a group killing many while also killing many people because they're just nice people? Are you actually saying anything that deviates from that view is a conspiracy theory? Yes, in the midst of a financial crisis, the last thing the West needs would to not have leverage over countries that owe them money. The world economy doesn't function like an Adam Smith microeconomic structure. You're sad.
@xx1994xxversion2 I bet the same way if you believe the war in Iraq is for oil. I bet you also believe that we went into kosovo and Bosnia just to droll and get it's resources. Get a grip.
@Hperman09 No of course not, they went into Iraq and Yugoslavia because they're just the nice international good samaritans. Ok, I'll get a grip that occupation and invasion is actually liberation. The United States supports certain groups for the sake of freedom and democracy and this is apparent with their involvement with Spain, Greece, Chile, Cuba, South Korea, and many other countries that experienced the beautiful US-supported "freedom and democracy".
@xx1994xxversion2 During the Cold War, Tensions between USSR and the US were rising. The threat of a nuclear war was immanent and with reports coming back of brainwashed Soviet spies, the US had to do something. Yes, it was awful, but everyone lived in fear that there were Soviet infiltrators waiting to strike at the heart of US. The CIA was authorized to do experiments to combat Soviet mind control process to break the brainwashed people like support ridiculousness anti-communist dictators.
@Hperman09 The US has done some things that were just plain wrong. Like our friend here (xx1994xxversion2): The US shouldn't have made him suffer with Syphilis for so long without treatment. (It ate his brain.)
The US has done some great things too. (Korea, France, Britain - even Germany and Japan are better off because of us.)
Somehow our friend got a thorn up his crack about Obama. Now he sees evil everywhere. It's very sad. I wish he'd take his Thorazine.
@dan91709 Ya i agree but i think Europe is already spoiled babies. I mean there's no point of protecting them now. Generally they are not worthy our ally anyway.
@xx1994xxversion2 (Yawn) What view? LOL! I'm saying that YOUR conspiracy theory is stupid.
Tell the truth: Are you attacking Obama because you think he's a communist version of Hitler reincarnated in Kenya to subjugate Africa before starting Armagedon, or does it just frost you that he's an "upity" black man that is one of the smartest and most powerful people you'll NEVER know?
Has someone been feeding you these cow cookies, or did you come up with this beauty all on your own?
@xx1994xxversion2 The only reasonable thing you've ever said here is "The world economy doesn't function like an Adam Smith microeconomic structure." Someone must have told you to say that. I doubt you know anything at all about macroeconomics.
@dan91709 This is starting to get tedious now. "Someone must have told you to say that and I bet you don't know what macroeconomics is herp da derp." How much could you know about macroeconomics if you don't even realize that much of the economic power Western states have is from the constant debt that third world states owe to them?
@xx1994xxversion2 LMAO! "Herp da derp?" M'Kay. Is there something wrong with western countries lending money to countries that ask them to? Really? I wonder whether you have ever borrowed money.... Oooops! Sorry, we don't lend money to little people - that would be bad. Need a medical procedure? Sorry, we've decided that it's better for you to die than be "contaminated" by the money we would otherwise lend to save your life. Bye bye - hope you feel better soon!
@dan91709 Oh my god, this is such idealist historical romanticism that complete ignores actual material conditions. Have fun justifying the United States imposing its hegemony as some humanitarian campaign while the people you think they're helping hate every minute of it.
@xx1994xxversion2 Do you think (I use the term loosely) that the United States shouldn't give money to help people in Africa fight AIDS and starvation, or is it just the IMF and the World Bank (both of which are international organizations) that you think are terrible for lending money to help build roads, power plants, and airports to improve the quality of life and help economies develop? It's all just a plot to take over the world.
I'm impressed. You hate America with such gusto! LMAO
@dan91709 Get the fuck over your nationalism, and what a nice fictional narrative about the role of the IMF and the United States in international relations. I also like the part about Libyans punching in the face because they just get hard off the sight of an American flag, what a nice pile of horse shit.
@xx1994xxversion2 True ignorance. How sad that you know no Libyans at all, and that you've never been there. Do you also insist that Man has never been to the moon? My my my. Poor misunderstood little man. Such BIG HATE inside you. Your own country isn't big enough to be your punching bag? Are NATO, the IMF, the World Bank, the UN, the US and so many countries in the Middle East enough all part of the "conspiracy?" Against whom? You? Very sad. You really should get some help. Soon.
@dan91709 No one believes this bullshit anymore about "we bomb people to help 'em out". Only a crazed neoconservative agrees with that. You still haven't acknowledged the fact that the rebels are barbaric and only represent about 35,000 Libyans that are mainly made up of the upper middle class and wealthy class while the pro-Gaddafi faction represent about the same number that are also made up of the upper middle class and wealthy. There is no mass uprising there.....
@xx1994xxversion2 (yawn) I think you're a moron. Seriously. The entire country is awaiting the final defeat of the tyrant and nothing you can do will change the outcome. Soon enough we will all see the fruits of the efforts of the freedom fighters. I'm proud that the entire civilized world (excluding greedy Russia and China) stood together against torture and murder (again).
May the Libya people achieve their heartfelt desire for peace, unity, and the rule of the laws of the Libyan Republic!
@dan91709 Oh, like when the rebels just rounded up 5,000 black people and just stuck them in jail. You'll come to see there won't be any sense of freedom coming to Libya. You're an idealist, enough said.
@xx1994xxversion2 ...and you're an anti-democratic monster that HATES people rising against the tyranny of murderers. You hate NATO, the UN, the US, and Arab countries for stopping mass slaughter in Libya without landing troops on the ground. You HATE the IMF, the World Bank, Europe, and the United States for providing grants and loans in Africa to help build infrastructure, commerce, feed the starving, and provide health assistance.
You're a powerless hateful waste of skin. Enough said.
@dan91709...Mustafa Jalil (leader of the rebels) is the man who sentenced those Bulgarian nurses to death during the famous HIV trials. He used to be the Minister of Justice which basically means his job was to sentence Gaddafi's dissidents to prison, and you think he's fighting for freedom!? The United States, EU, and especially the IMF have destroyed infrastructure, commerce, and taken down leaders that dare even nationalize the health care system....
@xx1994xxversion2 Your channel says a lot about you. I was just wondering... How do you reconcile racism and support of dictators with Communism? Are you just an instigator, or do you really believe your cognitively dissonant pathological delusions give your life meaning?
I suppose as a Stalinist you can try to justify both racism and murder, but as a powerless peon hating the world while dreaming of your rightful place as a tyrannical ruler you seem pathetic.
@dan91709 Are you seriously getting this personal over youtube? I don't see how a communist could logically support such a war like this. The rebels don't represent the working class, they are racist and tyrannical just like Gaddafi. What about my posts have shown racism when you support a group who are lynching their black locals. THe United States has destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Chile, and Libya won't be much of an exception. They've supported several dictatorships........
@dan91709....there is also no conspiracy, it's kind of common knowledge that historically the IMF and the World Bank act out of profit-motive and states act out of needing resources, "mr. i bet you don't know what macroeconomics is". But apparently, despite a long history to the contrary, they just want to help a man out because of their supposed idealism. And I need help?
@xx1994xxversion2 BTW, when you go to Libya and say bad things about America, don't be surprised if people on the street punch you in the mouth. That's how much they hate America.
@dan91709 Enlightened self interest is a synonym for greed and thirst for domination. Among the reasons NATO decided to use the NTC as a proxy army with which to remove Gaddafi, is because the Arab world is getting out of control right now. A good way to try to maintain your grip would be to pretend to support the revolutions (while tacitly supporting the brutal repression in other arab nations) install a puppet government that will kiss your ass and do your bidding.
Just wondering... Do you thing the Moon landing was a hoax? ...and that UFOs menace our spacecraft? ...and that 911 was an inside job? ...and that the US government is infiltrated by reptilian aliens from outer space? ...or is it just that you think the "man" is out to subjugate the world? (Like a fugitive from the movie "Undercover Brother?"
Making up a bunch of paranoid "scenarios" is easy. Now let's see you PROVE it.
CAPTURED? WHAT THE HELL! WHY IS THE US GETTING INVOLVED. THEY COULDNT CARE LESS ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF LYBIA. MOMMAR KHADAFI WAS A STRONG SUPPORTER OF UNITING THE AFRICAN COUNTRIES AND OFCOURSE THE DEMON OF THE US HAD TO INVADE OVER THROW AND HAVE CONTROL OVER THE OIL THERE. DON'T BE FOOLED PEOPLE OF AMERICA....YOUR LEADERS ARE SO MUCH WORSE
Please make sure you get a copy of this video before Cenk tries deleting it. Libya is going to be worse than Iraq unless NATO accepts that they are not wanted there. But I see a bleak future because NATO will jjust continue killing until they get their way.
I know that you're only allowed to be a hater on the internet, but relax for once and enjoy the victory. War is not always wrong, and there's a big difference between lending support and a full-scale invasion. This is about what we stand for - France helped us get our freedom in much the same way, now we're paying it forward and helping Libya get its freedom.
Please read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" from John Perkins. This book describes nearly exactly what is going on in Libya and other resource rich countries.
The resolution 1973 has been violated meany times by the US and her allies. It provides an armistice for the entire country, but NATO only enforces the government troops to lay down their weapons, and they have provided weapons to the rebels.
Furthermore, the NATO statutes don't offer any ground for action in Libya. And I hate to say it, but Gaddhafi had a substantial base of people behind him. You can't just dismiss that. But the US needed a more reliable dictator.
Lets see we have handed libya over to Central bankers & "rebels" that we know nothing about so blowback/unintended consequences are on thier way. But the most devistating part is now ANY PRESIDENT can wage ANY war @ ANYTIME without consulting congress for approval or funding and site this case so basically our congress is even more ceremonial hooray for Cenk not thinking big picture at all.
To all of you that say Qaddafi is a brutal dictator explain me thing to me. How come according to Human Development Index Libya is No.55 in the world and is No.1 in Africa. If Qaddafi is such a brutal dictator don't you think their rating would be a lot worst? I mean No.55 on HDI is extremely high. A lot of European countries have rating that is worst then Libyan. Explain this to me.
P.S. I would love to hear Cenk mention this little fact (but I will not hold my breath)
@scan95487568 This isn't had anything to do with the economic, etc. It's about the uprising against a dictator who was living under a 42 year rule and they had a right to do that.
It's about the laws that Libyans don't like: Criminalizing homosexuality with punishment of being up to five years in prison, send out assanins to kill Libyans just to live free, a capital crime to form political parties ,etc. That's why Libyans hated him in the 1st place and it 's still the law of the land even 2011.
@Hperman09 Check out what HDI is, since it is not strictly tied to economy. And in other Muslim countries homosexuality is punishable by death so prison is a lot less harsh punishment. And even Obama has put US citizens on assassination list (if you do don't believe me check it out) so that argument falls out of window. I will grant you the political oppression but compare it to other countries like Saudi Arabia that is not invaded and you will see the clear hypocrisy on side of Obama and NATO.
@scan95487568 Gaddafi's troops opened fire on unarmed protestors, and when they marched to Benghazi, Qaddafi said he'd "cleanse Libya, house by house, inch by inch" and make "rivers of blood." His own UN ambassador defected and urged the UNSC to prevent a massacre and the Arab League endorsed the no-fly zone.
Set politics aide, NATO is preventing another Bosnian Genocide. Are you saying that Bosnian war is a lie too? Same shit as Libya. Don't recall SA doing it like what Gaddafi is.

RIP Muamar

Thanks.
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 lol, I'm not even black. I'm wondering how you can take yourself seriously calling Gaddafi a Stalinist just because you like to lump two people together you don't like, calling Gaddafi a Stalinist is not only a sign of your simplistic analysis but ignorant as well. Do you think liberalism, patriotism and "spreading democracy" justifies bombing and decimating other countries? Or does your pathology tell you these things are noble?
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 I meant what I said. Why don't you explain why're you're a Communist that supports tyranny? Do all Communists support murder and tyranny, or is it just you. Or is that only true when the dictator is a sort of religious socialist totalitarian torturer/killer?

Specifically, is your support of a "Islamo-fascist nazi commie totalitarian baby eating maniac dictator!" (as YOU call it) something all communists should do, or is it only your particular warped brand of anti-Americanism that has so little regard for human suffering?
Yes, I am waiting.

For someone that says he believes in the noble nature of man, you've a strange way of showing it.
dan91709 5 months ago

HiRoader11 5 months ago
@HiRoader11 All political power comes from the barrel of a gun. Being armed is how you make an unwilling party negotiate. When America freed its country their first step was not to throw their guns away. They fought and then they negotiated. If all people thought as you did the world still strain at the bounds of absolute monarchies.
SuperBenzid 5 months ago
@HiRoader11...What U say is true, though in this case the rebellion ran with their tails between their leggs... With the Washington DC (spread democracy) interlopers screaming " Human Rights violations" even though the rebels were armed... As a leader of an sovereign country Gadhafi and others were well within their rights to handle rebellion in their borders... Egypt, Tunisia,Syria,Libya didn't interfere in the U.S. (WMD) occupation of Iraq.., What country will interfere with U.S. rebellions?
HiRoader11 5 months ago
@HiRoader11 Well without french help during the revolutionary war it is very likely America's revolution would have failed. Since America relied on foreign assistance for its own creation it bears some moral responsibility to help other subjugated peoples on the path to freedom. It is a difficult issue though I admit and America has over-interfered in the recent past. But in this case personally I think the country made the right decision.
SuperBenzid 5 months ago
@HiRoader11 I think it's amazing that you seem to be suggesting that a people do not have the right to violently oppose tyrannical oppression, wanton murder, and criminal corruption. The Qaddafi family ran Libya like Mafia, complete with murder of anyone that got in their way. Since when is the rule of law, and freedom from human rights violations something that doesn't deserve the support of the international community? NATO, the UN, Arab countries, Europe, and the US did the right thing.

PKtheFirst 6 months ago
@PKtheFirst I am not going anywhere. Of course Saddam Hussein was worse and already had a record of mass-murder. But that was not the reason for going to war in Iraq and it was a full on invasion on all fronts for strategical reasons instead of a reasonable, internationally agreed approach to prevent mass-killings of the uprising majority by supplying them with weapons and enforcing a no-fly-zone so the rebels can reclaim their country.

at least we knew for a while what we were going to do in iraq instead of the big surprise surprise on cnn with lybia.

Who is the real dictator Qaddafi or the FED ?
phewdem 6 months ago
You don't know what your talking about. NATO and the UN & UK & US planed to go to war with Libya when they decided to go into Iraq, along with more African countrys and Iran. This is according to retired US General Wesley Clark.
NATO supplied weapons to rebels who are responsible for hundreds of dead civilians, woman and children included. NATO also carried out air strikes across the county for about month, Killing even more civilians, bomb were droped on schools, mosques and innocent people.
phewdem 6 months ago
@phewdem And I guess if I ask you for any evidence, you will quietly disappear. Come on man, do you really expect anyone to believe that story? You should move to Hollywood and become a writer.
The sad thing is, there is actually a tiny part of me, who believes that this could be true. Nevertheless, Gadhafi was a ruthless dictator so, even if it was true, the worst possible scenario would be that the rebels did as much killing as he has done and would do again. So, I'm glad that nutjob is done.
schlafanzyk 6 months ago
@schlafanzyk Evidence for what? Its fact that NATO are slaughtering children and woman. Qaddafi has never done any thing of this sort. Because they hated him and were afraid of him, except for rebels who were willing to fight and die for their country's freedom.
schlafanzyk 6 months ago
@schlafanzyk You are an ignorant fool. The majority of people in Libya support Qaddafi. Just because you people are celebrating doesn't mean its true. Libya WAS a free country. Stop reply.
phewdem 6 months ago
@phewdem A totalitarian regime that does not allow free speech and wants to kill everyone who speaks out against it, is the absolute opposite of a free country. That's a simple and easily comprehensible fact and you are not making any sense trying to convince anyone otherwise. And because you know that, you just keep calling people ignorant over and over again and hope they get tired of it. I don't care how much you love dictators or hate the western nations, Libyans are better off without him.
schlafanzyk 6 months ago
@schlafanzyk It is lie about Putin. Are you from the USA? You are fooled by your lying mass media. You have only two choices in your president selections in the USA - isn't it a totalitarian regime?
sarbasov 6 months ago
@sarbasov It's not a lie, everybody knows the Russian government is one of the most corrupt "democratic" systems in the world, way more corrupt than the US. I am from Germany and we did not even participate in the air strikes against Gadhafi, although we should have. We did not participate in the war on Iraq though, which was correct. Our media is much more independent and I'm well aware of the lies in the US mass-media. Know there are dozens of presidential candidates before each US election.
schlafanzyk 6 months ago
@schlafanzyk Why should you have participate in the air strike? Do you really think that you have right to do it? Why did Germans send army to help Gaddafi opponents to win? Do not you know about Libya's independence? It seems that Germany is dependent on the USA like a colony. I agree Russian government is corrupt, but Putin really wants to make his country better. Plus, he does not agree with UN resolution about Libya and Syria and against any war in the world. He prevented a war in Korea.
sarbasov 6 months ago

Surely this movement will bring democracy.
xx1994xxversion2 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 I was merely noting that your post supported the mass murderer rather than the masses.
Smart, though, to include so much disinformation in your repulsive reply. Here on the risky edge of freedom for all of Libya, your indignant support of those poor black mercenaries that came to Libya in search of a job were so ruthlessly hanged by the people they indiscriminately murdered. You must be proud.
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 Too bad the masses are just being knee-jerked between two tyrannical factions. How do you suppose an apparent mass uprising supported by the most powerful military alliance in the world takes 6 months to overthrow an autocrat? And what did you also think of the massacre of 30 black people in Tripoli by the rebels? Probably just mercenaries. Your also more naive than I thought to actually think the rebels will bring any kind of "freedom" to the Libyan masses.
xx1994xxversion2 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 Qaddafi had an army poised to destroy the second largest city in Libya. NATO, supported Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey, and others in combination with NATO (largely Britain, France and the US) acted to save lives. The US does NOT import Libyan oil. I suppose you would say the same of the US revolution.
What do I think about a bunch of Qaddafi's dead African mercenaries? I think: "Good riddance."
The people will find liberty because they deserve it.
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 Too bad those Africans weren't mercenaries. How gullible do you have to be to believe that international relations and states are driven by humanitarianism? This is far from reality. Looking up the word imperialism would probably be helpful. If NATO really was this rose-colored fantasy that you have of them then Saudi Arabia would have had a lot more than a no-fly zone, maybe it's because Saudi Arabia is dictatorship that serves the West's interests. But what happened to saving lives?
xx1994xxversion2 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 NATO and its member states are motivated by enlightened self interest. It's simply not in our interest to let a little Hitler run around killing thousands of people. Some things really do transcend borders. Or do you think the US acted in Bosnia to save Muslims because of their nonexistent oil? Grow up.
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 NATO seems to be fine with the little Hitler running around in Saudi Arabia and several other nations. Gaddafi is no doubt a tyrant but NATO wanting him out has more to do with his work of getting African countries out of their doubt from the IMF than some 'noble humanitarian campaign'. Also, if bombing a country with fighter jets is actually supposed to save lives then they're clearly delusional. You also need some growing up to do if you really buy into the 'empire of liberty' bull.
xx1994xxversion2 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 Your argument has devolved. Don't you see the stupidity of what you're saying? First you blame NATO for intervening against the murder of thousands of Libyans by claiming it only wanted Libyan oil. Then you blame NATO for NOT intervening in an oil rich and peaceful country where thousands AREN'T in danger of being murdered.
I suppose you think when NATO intervened with Bosnia that there are invisible oil fields. Some people seem to need enemies - and you're a good example.
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 It is amazing that so many people have bought into this "thousands of people were about to be murdered" bullshit. It is an insanely irrational and downright stupid policy to go bombing the shit out of a nation because someone made a verbal threat. I would bet thousands of people HAVE BEEN killed in Libya since the NATO war began. The killing has just begun.
marcquestion617 6 months ago
@marcquestion617 Point of fact: We didn't "bomb the $h%t out of the country. NATO warned Qaddafi not to bombard his own city Benghazi. He was shelling homes with missiles and tanks, and he proclaimed that he was going to make the streets run with blood. You may think that's just the way Arab leaders talk, but TRY to keep in mind that he was actually DOING IT. We did bomb the crap out of any army contingent that continued attacks. Then we decided the lying murderer had to go. Simple as that. :)
dan91709 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 You claim NATO intervened to stop Qaddafi from killing his people... because they DON'T want Africa to repay their debt? (guffaw) Boy, are you actually trying to throw your twisted conspiracy theory kitchen sink into this? ROTFLMAO! I know you're not kidding, but JEEBUS! LOL! So, in the midst of a world financial crises, Europe DOESN'T want to be repaid? Holly Mackerel. Wow. You should win an award. Really. You should. HAHAHAHA!
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 xx1994xxversion2 has a point. Bottom line is that very soon private oil companies are going to start sucking on Libyan teet. It would take a fool not to realize that this was a major part of the motivation to remove a leader under the guise of "protecting civilizing." A bit of advice, Governments often tell you one thing when they mean something else.
marcquestion617 6 months ago
@marcquestion617 I have news for you. Oil companies have been drilling in Libya for decades. If anything, the war could easily have cost the allies billions of dollars they invested in Libya. With regard to governments misleading people, sure they do. On the other hand, you can use your head and realize that there was no reason to "invade" (without ANY occupying forces) because Europe already had access to the oil. Think about it before you spew. M'kay?
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 "M'kay"? What kind of asshole writes like that? Look, Libyan oil has been mostly nationalized for decades. If you're paying attention you'll know that foreign oil companies are foaming at the mouth right now for Libyan oil. Look it up! Look up Oil Contracts Libya, asshole. Beside that what baffles me is your stupidity in accepting this "thousands were about to be murdered" bullshit. They fed you that bullshit and you ate it.
marcquestion617 6 months ago
@marcquestion617 LMAO! You assume that any time Arabs, NATO, the UN, and the US act TOGETHER its because oil companies want to steal oil? Please. Qaddafi pays a lot of people like you.
Have you seen the news today? The Syrian Attorney General has resigned because their evil government is torturing and killing peaceful protesters and destroying homes with people inside. If NATO, the UN, Arab countries, and the US decide to topple that government, keep your silly theories to yourself. M'kay?
dan91709 6 months ago
@dan91709 The US has killed more people through state violence than all other countries put together since 1963 (the year i was born) We have lost any moral authority now - i too supported intervention - but by refusing to engage in talks we destroyed an entire country because of our hatred of 1 man.

dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Dan lets be honest w ea othr. What type of attitude is needed for talks? We treated Qathafi like a piece of shit. The problem is Libya will be hell for years as well as Africa - because of the leak of millions of small arms. No serious talks were attempted. Had they seriously been attempted - a high level NATO delegation shaking hands with Loyalist reps at a big table the atmosphere would have relaxed now all the soldiers families will be filled w hatred. its our fault this will happen
aligzanduh 5 months ago
@aligzanduh In all honesty, Qaddafi rejected talks. He rejects them now. He genuinely thinks he is a prophet elected by GOD to rule Libyans with an iron fist. Have you read his "Green Book?" Get a copy. He is insane.
As a matter of fact, there's an amnesty for the former soldiers of Qaddafi that aren't mass murderers.
How many innocent people does someone have to kill before YOU think the time for talk is over?
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Well its not what you do - its how you do it - we never gave the loyalist government respect - the operation was probably preorganized (Operation S Mistral) we have alienated numerous countries by using a resolution to calm a situation down - and instead dropped 7,000 plane loads of bombs. Gadaffi was a symbol to many of throwing off a puppet colonial government - the CIA was trying to topple him in the early 90s Reagan bombed Tripoli and Benghazi - virtually every govt has blood
aligzanduh 5 months ago
@dan91709 As fas as talks goes. The rebels said and Clinton - Gadaffi must step down - prior to talks - that makes talks impossible - the rebels sit back while NATO bombs - letting the very powers that subjugated Libya do their work - how can you say Gadaffi rejected talks - when the precondition was that he resign? Gadaffi is a mixed figure he is not Saddam Hussein - and he is not Thomas Jefferson - Name me a govt that has not killed people - Yes I support democracy in Libya - but not ala Iraq
aligzanduh 5 months ago
@aligzanduh (yawn) You're just fabricating bullcrap to fit the story you want to tell. No reply necessary.

aligzanduh 5 months ago
@dan91709 I can't get over this "M'kay" shit. Why not just write "I'm a brainless asshole."? You could write that instead of saying that bullshit about the murder of the Libyan masses. Dude, I'm sorry, but if you believe that the US/NATO has a crystal ball and actually predicted this mass murder, you're a brainless slave. You are the problem with the world. How can you support this shit? Is Libya better off having been at war the past 7 months with many more months of geurilla warfare to come?
marcquestion617 5 months ago
@marcquestion617 Didn't have to "predict" it. Qaddafi announced his intentions and started doing it, M'Kay?
Get over it.
Yes, Libya is better off without Qaddafi. I'm not saying it. The Libyan people are saying it - or don't you know any Libyans? If not, then you're just a troll that likes to invent wild theories. Go back to your cave... ....M'Kay?
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Better off? Like the destroyed nation of Iraq is better off without Saddam whom we overthrew 2 bring democracy N rid the world of Iraq's WMD? Libya's better off run by a puppet gov't or under NTC's proposed sharia law? We continue 2 bomb Libya 4 the protection of Libyan citizens, right? We'll continue bombing for months or years more for Libya's "protection" right? Obama tells you "thousands were about to be murdered, we have to start bombing." and you believe it. You're a fool.
marcquestion617 5 months ago
@dan91709 It's already very clear what a stupid idea this Libya "intervention" was. In the coming months it will become more and more clear. I wonder if jack-offs like you will continue to defend this stupidity as chaos ensues, the same way the Iraq war cheerleaders did after it was confirmed that that war was a fuckup...
marcquestion617 5 months ago
@marcquestion617 I'm glad you weren't around at the time of the American revolution. Your colorful language alone indicates your intellectual prowess. Suffice to say that I support the right of the Libyan people to self determination. That means that I don't think outside powers should prop-up a murderous dictatorships. It also means that I agree that when a mad dictator starts to kill thousands of people within reach of our capacity to stop him, we (the world) should. Now scuttle off, you worm.
dan91709 5 months ago

You're sad.

@Hperman09 No of course not, they went into Iraq and Yugoslavia because they're just the nice international good samaritans. Ok, I'll get a grip that occupation and invasion is actually liberation. The United States supports certain groups for the sake of freedom and democracy and this is apparent with their involvement with Spain, Greece, Chile, Cuba, South Korea, and many other countries that experienced the beautiful US-supported "freedom and democracy".
xx1994xxversion2 6 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 During the Cold War, Tensions between USSR and the US were rising. Has someone been feeding you these cow cookies, or did you come up with this beauty all on your own?

@xx1994xxversion2 The only reasonable thing you've ever said here is "The world economy doesn't function like an Adam Smith microeconomic structure." Someone must have told you to say that. I doubt you know anything at all about macroeconomics.
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 This is starting to get tedious now. "Someone must have told you to say that and I bet you don't know what macroeconomics is herp da derp." How much could you know about macroeconomics if you don't even realize that much of the economic power Western states have is from the constant debt that third world states owe to them?
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 LMAO! "Herp da derp?" M'Kay. Is there something wrong with western countries lending money to countries that ask them to? Really? I wonder whether you have ever borrowed money.... Oooops! Sorry, we don't lend money to little people - that would be bad. Need a medical procedure? dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Oh my god, this is such idealist historical romanticism that complete ignores actual material conditions. Have fun justifying the United States imposing its hegemony as some humanitarian campaign while the people you think they're helping hate every minute of it.
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 Do you think (I use the term loosely) that the United States shouldn't give money to help people in Africa fight AIDS and starvation, or is it just the IMF and the World Bank (both of which are international organizations) that you think are terrible for lending money to help build roads, power plants, and airports to improve the quality of life and help economies develop? It's all just a plot to take over the world.
I'm impressed. You hate America with such gusto! LMAO
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Get the fuck over your nationalism, and what a nice fictional narrative about the role of the IMF and the United States in international relations. I also like the part about Libyans punching in the face because they just get hard off the sight of an American flag, what a nice pile of horse shit.
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 True ignorance. How sad that you know no Libyans at all, and that you've never been there. Do you also insist that Man has never been to the moon? My my my. Poor misunderstood little man. Such BIG HATE inside you. Your own country isn't big enough to be your punching bag? Are NATO, the IMF, the World Bank, the UN, the US and so many countries in the Middle East enough all part of the "conspiracy?" Against whom? You? Very sad. You really should get some help. Soon.
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 No one believes this bullshit anymore about "we bomb people to help 'em out". Only a crazed neoconservative agrees with that. You still haven't acknowledged the fact that the rebels are barbaric and only represent about 35,000 Libyans that are mainly made up of the upper middle class and wealthy class while the pro-Gaddafi faction represent about the same number that are also made up of the upper middle class and wealthy. There is no mass uprising there.....
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 (yawn) I think you're a moron. Seriously. The entire country is awaiting the final defeat of the tyrant and nothing you can do will change the outcome. Soon enough we will all see the fruits of the efforts of the freedom fighters. I'm proud that the entire civilized world (excluding greedy Russia and China) stood together against torture and murder (again).
May the Libya people achieve their heartfelt desire for peace, unity, and the rule of the laws of the Libyan Republic!
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Oh, like when the rebels just rounded up 5,000 black people and just stuck them in jail. You'll come to see there won't be any sense of freedom coming to Libya. You're an idealist, enough said.
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 ...and you're an anti-democratic monster that HATES people rising against the tyranny of murderers. You HATE the IMF, the World Bank, Europe, and the United States for providing grants and loans in Africa to help build infrastructure, commerce, feed the starving, and provide health assistance.
You're a powerless hateful waste of skin. Enough said.
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709...Mustafa Jalil (leader of the rebels) is the man who sentenced those Bulgarian nurses to death during the famous HIV trials. He used to be the Minister of Justice which basically means his job was to sentence Gaddafi's dissidents to prison, and you think he's fighting for freedom!? The United States, EU, and especially the IMF have destroyed infrastructure, commerce, and taken down leaders that dare even nationalize the health care system....
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 Your channel says a lot about you. I was just wondering... How do you reconcile racism and support of dictators with Communism? Are you just an instigator, or do you really believe your cognitively dissonant pathological delusions give your life meaning?
I suppose as a Stalinist you can try to justify both racism and murder, but as a powerless peon hating the world while dreaming of your rightful place as a tyrannical ruler you seem pathetic.
How's that working out for you?
dan91709 5 months ago
@dan91709 Are you seriously getting this personal over youtube? I don't see how a communist could logically support such a war like this. The rebels don't represent the working class, they are racist and tyrannical just like Gaddafi. What about my posts have shown racism when you support a group who are lynching their black locals. THe United States has destroyed Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Chile, and Libya won't be much of an exception. They've supported several dictatorships........
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@dan91709....there is also no conspiracy, it's kind of common knowledge that historically the IMF and the World Bank act out of profit-motive and states act out of needing resources, "mr. i bet you don't know what macroeconomics is". But apparently, despite a long history to the contrary, they just want to help a man out because of their supposed idealism. And I need help?
xx1994xxversion2 5 months ago
@xx1994xxversion2 Yes. You need help. A lot of it. Get it now.

@marcquestion617 Like we did in Bosnia? Please.
The resolution 1973 has been violated meany times by the US and her allies. It provides an armistice for the entire country, but NATO only enforces the government troops to lay down their weapons, and they have provided weapons to the rebels.
Furthermore, the NATO statutes don't offer any ground for action in Libya. And I hate to say it, but Gaddhafi had a substantial base of people behind him. You can't just dismiss that. But the US needed a more reliable dictator.
