I have a Gp100 in 4.20 inch barrel, bought in 2004 or so. Came with same grips. Apparently ruger ships all GP100s with hogues instead, heard mixed things about them. I dont mind the rubber/wood though.
Nice Grips! they compliment your Gp100 perfectly. I have the 6inch stainless steel Model and while ther factory grips are ok im thinking of getting some nice Wood Hogue grips. So many nice ones to choose from though Its gonna be hard picking them out
Outstanding revolver and a great value. It is every bit as good as the S&W 686 and costs about $150 less. It is very good with reloads. I shoot 158 grain lead round nose and it shoots them straight though the bullseye like a laser. It is so solid in it's design that anyone who buys one will be leaving to thier grandchildren someday when they pass away.
I have had my GP100 for about 6 months now. First gun ever and I love it. No plastic on trigger guard. Thing shoots strait! Like real strait! Love it!
@patherman64 I agree with you, I just got mines Friday and it's keeper, I got tired of polymer pistol, plastic crap, this gun is built like a tank. No worries about failure to feed or jam, one thing I can say about the revolvers is that u can't go wrong with one and they always work, unlike semi, don't get me wrong I still love semi. But if I had to choose between the two to say save my life with it'll be the revolver.
FIVE MORE DAYS UNTIL I GET MINE!!!! Stupid waiting period...Ohh I had to spend another 25 bucks for a 'pistol safety certificate and training" That consisted of general operation and law knowledge.. It seems to me if people don't ALREADY know the criteria of this test they shouldn't be let near a pistol.... Anyhow, its just another way the communist republic of kalifornistan to squander more money...
GP100s are excellent revolvers and, like everything Ruger makes, they are super-tough. I have one a special edition model with a 5" barrel, special sights and a very nice set of checkered and capped Hogue rosewood grips with finger grooves. I put a set of lighter Wolf springs in it too which greatly improved the trigger. Great gun!
I'm going to look into the wolf springs for my gp100.. As for Ruger making things tough.. well I'm disappointed that the new trigger guards on 10/22s are now plastic :( then again I've seen other companies like mossberge put plastic guards (AND SAFETY SWITCHES) on their shotguns too.
Yeah, I wouldn't be too happy about the plasic finger guard. I just like metal. I'm a traditionalist. On the other hand, modern plastics can be incredibly rugged, of course. As for the GP100: I have never had a single problem with my GP100 and I shoot heavy loads. It's hard to imagine a more well-built handgun.
Quit covering up that sweet jacket with that GP100. More pics of the jacket please!
