I really admire that politics are obviously important to the members of Fall Out Boy, even if they don't try to "educate" people. The way they talk about things here shows that they're actually interested in the world around them, and not just in being "famous" and "rock stars", which is a refreshing departure from all those reality TV show musicians that have been foisted on us in the last years.

I don't agree with their view either... I'm still a fan of their music... I just wish that "celebrities" wouldn't use their influence to get their fans to vote for the candidate they support... While it's true that some people will base their votes on what celebrities say, I don't think that this should stop celebrities from speaking out, because those same people would base their votes on what other people say anyway. They'd base their vote on what friends or collegues say, or on whose TV ad they like better.

Celebrities speaking out, on the other hand, might convince some young people that caring about politics is cool and important, which might make them actually think about stuff.

I think its a good idea to express just how interesting politics can be so that children can grow up knowing that Their vote makes a difference.
