can I ask UKIP what they would with the islamic schools that are teaching hatred and intolerance of other religions in the UK? not to mention the cruelty to the children, as can be seen by searching
"islamic schools in Britain teaching hate and segregation to young muslims"
Hmmm I am oppopsed to the grammar school system but Nigel is right in saying the poorer families should have the same chances as families that can afford private school. I think it would be best if we had fantastic comprehensive schools with the set system based on grades, but obviously that will cost money and time which will have generations of poor children missing out on a good education while the problems are straightened out with comprehensive.
we need Farage for PM now more than ever! coupled with a Ron Paul Presidency the rest of the world might start to respect the west again once we have our freedoms back,
@kcirdrab -They were a bad thing for the majority.... You miss the point it is all about getting the best education for children academically inclined especially those from poor homes. It benefits the country to have these kids educated to achieve their full potential. At the same time that does not mean we abandon those who do not go to Grammar Schools, far from it they should be educated to realise their full potential as we need skilled workers too, many will earn more than ex Grammar kids.
@kcirdrab the 'majority' can still make do with comprehensive schools can they not? Why should parents be denied the choice of a grammar school for their kids? set them up again and we'll see which system is more popular with parents
@kcirdrab My thought on this is that theres plenty of people for them and theres plenty against them. Many(including myself) think theyve done better under the grammar school system. Many(including my mate James) thinks they did worst under the system.
So why cant we have both? If 40% of parents think their children should be educated under the gammar school system then lets have an education thats porportionate to the wants of the nation.
Labour have for too long attempted to own the concept of social mobility and portray it as an exclusive property of the Left.
A meritocracy does not come from treating everyone identically, it comes from treating each individual fairly. "Equal opportunities" should mean just that, not attempting to impose 'Equal Outcomes' arbitrarily across society.

@RiksFunStuff Why oppose them? Look at what has happened to this country and its education system since they were closed, its gone to pot.
Its clear that is was a huge mistake to close them, they need bringing back in a huge way.

I like how I pretty much agree with everything UKIP comes out with. And the best part is the fact that they will DO what they say.

Just don't subsidize higher education, it's a slippery slope that the United States knows all too well.

They were a bad thing for the majority, UKIP should ditch this policy if it wants to be relevant to modern England's future
