The context of her statement makes it clear that she is giving multiple examples of primary fights that went well into the summer. Every other journalist who heard her statements understood that. But Olbermann, in a state that borders on psychosis, latches onto a single word and reads an entirely different message than anyone else. Then he proceeds to rant for several minutes in prime time about a plot that only he sees.

The analogue to today in the 1968 primary would actually be late June, and even in 1992 it would be mid-June. In both of those instances the party candidacy was wrapped up by that time.
