We had a lot to do with it.

To destroy the Soviet Union we armed and trained a bunch of jihadi wacko warriors.

As soon as the Soviet Union backed out, we just dropped the ball, left their culture with a bunch of weaponized crazy men who fought a nasty civil war and destroyed their cities and villages so they were thankful when the hardcore Taliban finally took over, bringing peace as long as you followed Islamic Law as they demanded. Yeah the U.S. funded the Afghans during that time but it was all done indirectly so the Soviets wouldn't be able to link the Afghan resistance to the U.S. We gave PAKISTAN millions of dollars to arm the Afghans and train them. THEY were the ones who trained them not us. You're right we shouldn't have dropped the ball. Either way though people who say that we are responsible for the condition of these child workers are just retarded. That's their own governments job. Ours is to kill Taliban.

Thanks for acknowledging the history. I wish you would reconsider our part in basically opening the door for the Taliban (who you claim it is our only job to now "kill") -that active part actually gives us the responsibility to soften the damage we have caused in whatever ways we can-such as improving their non-drug economy and helping them improve their small d democratic governance to include schooling for all. The best way for a society to improve itself is to make sure women can read.
