@EpikGameTime Bamboo liquor is a Chinese Liquor; Sake is a Japanese Rice Beer; though, a quite potent beer at that. Most people call it Rice wine, but the brewing process is less reminiscent of wine, and more like beer.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle! G.I. JOEEEEEEEEE
Fish tweezers? Who knew? Learn something new everyday. Thanks. Now I just have to figure out where to get them. Or just maybe use regular old tweezers, that should will work.
@lov3anonymous With an extremely well sharpened knife and some decent practice you can chop like a pro too! But of course Japanese cooks are obviously honed to cut and cook things rather well :P
@themyoify Heat will burn off some of the alcohol, with this relatively fast cooking I believe about 50% of the alcohol will remain. But the amount of sake used and serving sizes, makes it seem safe enough even for a teetotaller such as myself.
If you avoid alcohol for religious reasons, it's probably haram even if you consider 'Miram', a less alcoholic substitute. You'll miss out on the aroma and taste, but it'll probably be delicious anyway.
@Octavideoz Not only is their food great, but most large companies & schools have a weight expectation. So for example, you go to high school--where they have an annual check-up. You get weighed, & you're underweight/overweight. The nurse will let the people in the cafeteria know that you have to eat this & this, & you can't eat this & this. You have to exercise a certain amount, & so on. It's really great, actually. It keeps people healthy :D
You need to watch the movie "Bag It." Fish is no longer safe to eat, because plastic (bisphenol A [used to harden plastic] - causes gender neutrality/ Phthalates [soft plastic - toys] inhibits human growth) and other organic compounds (like fertilizers) are in high levels that it's unsafe to eat anything from the sea. So, you should only buy fish that is farm and raised on land away from the sea. It's high levels (100,000+) if eating large fish to (10+) in small creatures. Plastic is bad.
I love this cooking show. The food is always very colorful and beautiful. I've even used a few of these recipes in my own kitchen. Also, that is the most well behaved dog I have ever seen.
Did anyone else notice that when she puts the salmon into the pan there is a white square that looks like a piece of paper towel stuck to one of the salmon fillets? You can see it starting at 1:28. Is it just part of the natural fat of the salmon, or is it really a piece of paper towel, and she just never noticed it? I hardly think that such a meticulous and precise chef would overlook this, or that her video editor would miss it either. It sure looks like a piece of paper towel to me, though...
@ScriptorObscura its on both of the fish ... and i dont think its from the towel because look at the clip where it was introduced. you can see it was already there ... on both of the fish.
Cooking with dog, just for a thought, could you do something without any alcohol that's cos my family doesn't need or have any alcohol at home. Thanks!
