Just discovered a band a couple of hours ago from Huyton called The Crescent and they are quality. Searched them on youtube and then The Bandits popped up in the related links, great tunes from what ive heard so far so many criminally underated and unheard Liverpool bands over the years especially the likes of Shack and The Real People. But I reckon its boss to be onto quality music that no one else is.
@Liverpool5adidas if you like the crescent and the bandits also check out (if you've not already) tramp attack and the stands all four bands were part of the same liverpool scene the coral and the zutons came from quality sounds!
Shame these guys aren't going anymore, saw them supporting Oasis at Nottingham (Can't remember the year, done too much to my brain and liver since then)
Convinced me to buy the album which still gets a good amount of play time! Would have loved to hear more but you can't have everything.
To daviemccurdie.I can,t believe this,I,ve not posted for 2 years, and now 2 in half an hour.As I remember,Once upon a time was played on MTV.Maybe you will get a result via them.
To joey outlaw.Sorry mate,a very belated responce from me.When the boys split up Swee came to work with me in construction,we had been working together before,It,s a shame these boys split,a loss to the music world.Swee and his missus[jodie] are my close mates.I miss the Zanzibar nights with them.
Anyone got the video for Once Upon A Time? I saw it once on that Saturday chart show on ITV with the rollercoaster graphics way back (!) in 2002 it must have been.
I first encountered the bandits supporting the coral at the garage in glasgow, must've been 2002/03.
2 things stood out. The singer was the sweatiest man in history. And the tunes were fuckin amazin!
hokum clones played too. where are they?
Anyway, why did the bandits split up?
I still to this day play the album, and this tune, plus Chaos in the Courtroom and Once Upon A Time are still 3 of my favourites of all time. You cunts should defo get back together
I went up to Dundee to catch them with a mate in a really crap wee venue in 2002 I think. Blew the place away even though there were only 15 people there, 13 of them Dundonians.
From then, I saw them in Edinburgh, Glasgow, they played T in the Park in 2003 as well.
A real shame they split up but I'm sure they're doing other things. I met Gary Bandit out of his nut at Barrowlands saying he was helping out The Coral then I met him again in Edinburgh with John Power this time.
