The car naturally pushes outward at speed, and in a slide the more banking to "lean" against, the less likely the car will continue to break traction. That said, the difference between 24 and 31 degrees would be minimal in that situation. But unlike Jeff, Dinger had to work to save his, Gordon's car was saved by the apron.
