  • That is indeed the most humane way because the warmer the water the more active and the colder is the least active and he is just going to free to death no pain that we know him

  • This sucks, I am sorry for your loss:( My bristle nose just died, heater burn.

  • you put a fish in a freezer???

    Won't the water freeze?

  • why no just a drop of cyanide in a bowl and trow him on in, dead in less then 9 seconds haha

i hate when my fish die :/

  • u know that freezing fish is really painful for them! Dont be stupid!

  • yea he had a disease called popeye. and just like you saw, it causes the fish's eyes to fall out. you see it a bit with goldfish. that really sucks man sorry for ur loss.

  • I feel your pain man. I had a gold fish (I know lame) for 5 years. He died yesterday. The same thing that happened to your fish happened to mines. He died 13 inches long. You should have buried him.

  • you should have sedated him first or gave him a euthanasia

  • aww thats too bad (n)

  • for some bizzar reason you remind me of the joker.

  • @acco8675309 Jack Nicholson of Heath Ledger?

  • @lexdiamond20 Heath Ledger

  • @acco8675309

    Thanks

  • @lexdiamond20 Anything I can do to help. : )

  • you could of feed him on a stick u know

  • @xz21346 Tried that. Even with touching it to his mouth, still wouldn't take it.

  • sorrry man thats terrible

  • oh my gosh your fish had POPEYE!!!!!!! you dont usually see that in a aquarium

  • nah should have been nice.... when he was alive it would have been soo much better to put him in fresh water, He would have died faster and less pain.

  • Well personally i wouldn't think Hypothermia is a very enjoyable way to die, but then again seeming as these fish have little brain activity their nerve endings aren't nearly as sensitive. in any case you did what you felt was right, and the easier on your conscious the better. Maybe one would also like to think This fish has taught you a lesson in perseverance.

  • @BitOveRate

Fish are cold blooded. They don't get hypothermia, they just go to sleep... an that's it.

  • i had to do that to my niger trigger fish a while back. believe it or not i actually teared up a little. lol.

  • i know how you feel aswell man i had to euthanise a pretty big volitans lionfish AND a beautiful radiata lionfish, i liked them heaps.... i guess clear water and thriving corals are decieving and as you said ya live ya learn eh

by the way both of my lionfish did the cloudy eyes thing too

  • thats a really cool fish...to bad he went belly up

  • no! he is still alive it takes a cuple of weeks!

  • srry 4 ur dwarf lion. they're really awesome fish. however, if something like this does happen again, dont put em in the freezer. it freezes their outer skin and capillaries causing them intense pain before death. not insulting u,you didnt know. just letting you know for the future. if you can bring yourself to it, cut the spinal cord behind the neck or use an anestetic; as some have mentioned, clove oil solution.

  • aww man that sucks R.I.P fuzzy

  • ouchhh!!! poor fishy.. :(

  • p.s. the fish looked healthier to eat than the stuff you had in there dude LOL

  • Meh, was at an unhealthy point back then. Thanks for noticing.

  • shit, demolition man revisited! maybe there will be a cure for him in 2020!

  • i feel you man i have one of those in my tank and he is the best eats great and just chills in the tank how was your water

  • Problem is your limited on what other things you can put in the tank with this. Reef tank is way better. Thinking of doing a predator tank for my spare though.

  • next time this happens to anybody, best way to youthanize any fish is to seperate the specimine in a container and use ambosol add half the bottle ir full bottle depending on fish, you can see the ambasol take effect.let fish stand in water for 20 mins. thats all fish just falls asleep.

  • just put some acetone in that cup

  • R.I.P.

  • I heard the freezer method is not devoid of pain/suffering. Best method is close oil and vodka! Clove oil puts them in a coma, vodka kills them.

Then drink rest of vodka in fish wake.

  • Eh, who knows.

  • man sorry about the lion fish looks like he didnt suffer most ppl would have just threw him in garbage but u did right thang 10*****

  • what the hell happened to his eyes anyways ?

  • Who knows. Stuff like this happens sometimes.

  • that is so sad :c

  • actually, the straight freezer death a myth as a humane way to euthanize a fish. Its not the worst way, but is a bit painful once the blood vessels start to freeze and the organs shut down. The most humane way is to put them in a clove oil solution (used for human tooth pain) but used by the vet as an anesthetic. Let them pass out, and then freeze them while they are unconscious. Or you could overdose them in clove oil, but can be tricky.

  • wait why is he in the freezer...from the START?

  • Oh sorry to hear that if you had him for 2-3 years it's okay fuzzys don't live longer than 3 years

  • awh thats fucked up dude. lol, right next to the ice cream!

  • lol

  • i have found that the easiert wasy to youthenize your fish is Ambasol

  • hay why dont you get a uv stirlizre you dont have to have it on all the time and plse tell me where you got the specim box ok thx and if you put a pc on the sump the live rock will get some pods and become purple and swicth the rocks whenthey get cured and puple ok thx

  • aww im sorry that is a cool fish

  • oh sry to hear m8 im same as you when i loss a fish i cant deal with it well so i get me old man to do it lol hope things go well with the rest m8 keep it up:)

  • Sorry, you going to get another one? That sucks. Oh yea, do you think I could get one and put it in a 12g nano cube?

  • Come to think of it I would rather put smaller, more colorful and active fish this time. I can probably get away with 2-3 smaller fish like chromis' or clowns. Dont get me wrong, the lion was great and looked good but most of the time just stayed in one spot and didn't really swim unless it was feeding time. As for a 12g nano, yes, you can pull it off but I would keep him as the only livestock. Mine seemed to be doing good in my 30g.

  • Yea now im having second thought. Id rather have a mini reef with clowns and a few small things. Than a lion, thnx for answering. 5 ***** Keep the videos coming. :D

  • Firefish are cool too. Just picked one up. Get a purple one if you can get a good price on it.
