Hero drinks.

Hero Drinks don't do that. They raise stats, not make characters invincible. They did in FFVIII though.

Big Guard doesn't do that either, because it induces Barrier and MBarrier.

Looking at it closely, they don't start glowing yellow until they get hit. He used a gameshark so they don't take damage, but in a real speedrun the "wait trick" that he demonstrated to take out the Turks should work.
