  • The 4.6 is a really good engine. You just have to know what your doing with them. Very easy to get them to run fast.

  • i've never been in a 5.0 but i've got a lot of easy mods done to my 4.6 and easily have the fastest street car in my town.

  • BigRiggerJ: I agree, the 4.6 is very limited to n/a mods, so unless you have DEEP pockets, you can't really build'em. The 5.0l Responds MUCH better to bolt ons, and is a proven tough engine. Not to mention their WAAAAAy easier to wrench on.

    if you can work on an engine you can work on any of them IMHO...

    FWIW, my 4.6 is going to blow the doors off my old 95 (this car) and i have about the same into each of them at this point...

    to get any better on either now requires ported heads, different intakes etc etc so the money is about the same now, especially that TFS makes 4.6 2V heads ;)

    4.6 will last longer, hell even my GT has 4 bolt mains with jack screws...

  • 4.6 for sure no stock 5.0 has beat a new edge 4.6 or 05 an up 4.6 its impossible but the new 5.0 is a different story

  • you should try building up one of the engines. and btw, then new 5.0 sounds like shit compared to the old 302HO. Saw one at the auto show in d.c. Was nothing special, but I like the new 5.0 wayyy better than the 4.6.

  • What do u mean the new 5.0 sounds like shit... 412 hp and 25~ MPG high way thats some engineering.

  • it all depends on what type of sound you are going for. don't give hate to other exhaust systems that's just not cool if your a real stang lover. personally i like magnaflow because they are straight through. and that's the sound i prefer. it's all up to what you like tho. never just let someone talk you in to a system without listening for yourself. that's the great thing about youtube lots of vids to help you make your mind up. good luck!

  • magnaflow makes magnapacks. magnapacks are just like glasspacks. they are straight through and round. most magnaflow mufflers are oval or square mufflers. i'm pretty sure that magnaflow only makes straight through mufflers also. magnapacks have a more agressive deeper tone than the other magnaflow mufflers.

  • It depends magnaflow has a deeper rumble and flowmaster has more of a wide open sound although when you punch it with magnaflow you will hear it. I recommend magnaflow.

  • These are MagnaPacks with a catted-high flow H. if you look at the comment from motohorse87, it's my brother and actually his car, and he has a video/sound clip of the O/R Summit Racing X with the Packs.

  • You might be able to get the cat-back for the look and maybe a little bit of the sound, but not much, due to the fact that cat-backs are kind of a cheap fix. I would suggest an H-pipe with hi-flow cats and the cat-back, if you're willing to spend the money. I like the o/r X with the cat-(or lack there of) backs. The X makes a big difference, and the cats do as well. A lot of things to take into account, but well worth it. Just be careful of the lifter valley splitting, 302s are notorious for it.

  • dude, that guys is fucking hardcore, driving his Mustang with winter tires on, lol. soooooo happy it sounds good with those mufflers, i was worried it wouldnt work on the 302. fuck chambered mufflers, straight throughs FTW!!!! and thats with the catted H, wait for the OR X!!!!! i cant wait for all the comments about how slow it is... IT WAS WET OUT!!!! NO TRACTION UNTIL 60MPH!!!
