  • WHY DID THE BBC BE SO CARELESS WITH THE OLD TAPES? WHY?

  • @RandomCyberDude164 Because in the 1970's they knew nothing about future revenues of Doctor Who and other TV shows they junked. Not good business sense

  • By the way, this clip wasn't cut or not added to the final version of the film : it is footage from a documentary made at the time that the climax of Evil of the Daleks was made called "The Last Dalek" that has been edited together with the original soundtrack.

  • LOL that dale at 1:51 got blown to high hell

  • DO NOT DISLIKE IN HERE !!

  • i reckon the 1st 2 doctors daleks had the best voices and mind, cause they were so cunning and clever then when pertwees daleks came they just went the same D:

  • And that was the complete and final end of the Daleks...until they got better.

  • why did the bcc delete this story? ITS FUCKIN' AWSOME. sorry for language, freedom of speech people.....................

stiil, why would they destroy it? this is one of the best dalek stories NOT written by terry nation. still, hope there is a copy of the entire serial somewhere abroad or lost in the bbc. just hope if its actually found and not just somebody selling a blank tape for lots of money, that happened with the tenth planet episode 4........

  • 1:00 to 1:02 is that just a clockwork toy dalek?

  • @Drwhofanindatardis yeah, the budget back in those days wouldn't allow for dozens of dalek props or advanced cgi, so to create the impression of more than a few daleks they often had to use toys, cardboard cutouts in the background, the same props going offscreen and appearing again etc.

  • OH GAWD, I wish the whole episode existed! Is the audio good?

  • you can see the bbc used toy daleks as well as props

  • THIS IS YOUR EMPEROR.....SPEAKING....brilliant

  • jolly evil !

  • the daleks were originally only going to be a enemy that is only shown once but the audience wanted them to return

  • @madmania12345 yep the Daleks became an sensation in the 60's and still going strong now.

  • @madmania12345 Yep true

  • The "lines" effect (a compression artefact) whenever anything moves or explodes or whatever only adds to the viewing experience, after all, thius is how the original viewers would have seen the original 1967 broadcast - on their Pye 405-line VHF TV! :D

  • 1:50-1:54 makes me laugh ^_^

  • I believe they originally thought that this would be the final dalek episode to be made but due to popular demand they came back in Day of the daleks.

  • I remember this episode as a kid...Boy that makes me feel old.

  • this is one of the only footage of this clip because they lost this episode from the arckives so it will never come on tv. so if i were you i wouldnt remove this clip from youtube. im adding this to my favourites.

  • @OMEGAxWARRIOR

Don't plan too but the BBC may get me.

  • who was the creator of the daleks?davros or the emperor?

  • davros

  • It was Davros , but because Gensis of the Daleks happened before any of the black and white episodes , the daleks were without a leader , so they evolved a simple dalek into an emperor , because daleks have no plans without a leader , as mentioned in "Dalek"

  • good point

  • @OMEGAxWARRIOR The Daleks were the result of many years of War. Chemicals, Radiation, & they began to change. They predicted a time when nothing organic could live on Skaro, so designed the Dalek Machine. But the design was initialy flawed for it could only roam on Metal Floors for their sorce of Power. The War ended early, & the Thals remained 100% Organic, unlike the Kaled race who mutated to a vulgar form & became reliant on Radiation. Davros was a Re-Launch Theory that became Popular!

  • @OMEGAxWARRIOR davros is the creator of the daleks. the emperor wouldnt have exsisted to invent the daleks if davros hadnt exsisted, so there is no way the emperor could have created them. although the emperor could have made tweaks to the actual creatures and changed them physically, but he didnt create them

  • still prefure the older style daleks,& that emperor is worthy of todays special fx.brilliant emperor.

  • "Do not fight in here! Do not fight in here!" For some reason that made me chuckle a little. The emperor, for a moment, sounded like a mom scolding some naughty kids.

  • @tf2whackyengineer DON'T MAKE ME PUT YOU ALL IN A CORNER!

  • @wanderer711 STOP EXTERMINATING YOUR BROTHER! YOU ARE GOING TO BE IN SO MUCH TROUBLE WHEN YOUR FATHER GETS HOME!

  • @tf2whackyengineer ROFLMAO!

  • I downloaded all parts of this episode and all parts actually worked! It's the episode where the daleks want to test human factor and dalek factor and three daleks get mixed with the wrong factor and end up with emotions, feelings and end up playing trains with the dr lol

  • If only the new series used this emperor dalek instead.

  • You mean in "The Parting of the Ways"? I liked that one since he was truly insane in that he believed he was God, this one was simply grandiose in his plans. He reminds me of the Supreme Dalek in "Journey's End"

  • I personally preffered the Emperor in the new series. Don't get me wrong, this Emperor is still brilliant, but the insane, divine deity complex the new one had going on was a brilliant twist. The most evil creature in the galaxy, and it saw itself as God.

  • No! Davros was not around then.

  • @sledgeka dvros came in the fourth doctor episode the genesis of the daleks

  • @sledgeka yes he was, how could he 'not be around then'? he created the daleks so he existed before them. It's never confirmed but it has been said that it would have been possible for this emperor to be davros but with a completely dalek mind. It could easily be davros because technically 'genesis of the daleks', even though it appeared long after this, was set long before it.

  • @h0usesparr0w Yep possibly but never officially stated in the Doctor Who Contunity

  • @sledgeka oh yeah I know it isn't definate I just remember reading about it. My main point was that even thought they had not actually created the character of Davros at this time, he still would technically have existed within the doctor who universe during these events and therefore MAY have been the emperor, i'd rather this wasnt him though...

  • @sledgeka and as far as the production team were concerned, he wouldn't exist for another 8 years!

  • @sledgeka correct me if im wrong, but i think evil of the daleks mite have been the last dalek story chronologically before the time war. apparantly before the episode was erased it showed that the emperor actualli survived coz a light was seen blinking on him, so im guessing he then invaded gallifrey and is the same emperor from bad wolf and the parting of the ways and therefore not davros. not certain of that 1 tho

  • @jhibbitt1 yeah, you can see a light blinking in this clip, near the end. The light was a last minute addition, because they had all the explosions etc. set up, when they got a call from the beeb telling them not to kill the Daleks off! Pretty good for a last minute addition :D

  • no davros apeered in 1974 this is 1967

  • @jampox101 but genesis of the daleks happened before evil of the daleks, because he created them, so technically he exists in this story, he just isn't mentioned because genesis of the daleks wasnt a story then, but he was on skaro, or Anntilon for anyone who thinks war of the daleks should be an official doctor who story

  • @animationdude56 i know that but he was thought up of in genesis

  • @jampox101 Chronologically speaking,Genesis of the Daleks happened before ALL the other Dalek stories, even the first one.

  • @BPavsner well yeh good point

  • I have 2 questions the first is why would you make your emperor the most important person in your empire immobile and my second question is if nothing is superiior than the daleks and if all daleks are the same then how do they choose who becomes an emperor or a supreme dalek?

  • not sure ask Terry Nation(the creator of the Daleks). Unfortuately, his dead now!.

  • the emperor was the first dalek made so he was in charge hes immobile because hes had his brain enhanced so he can access all dalek data from the daleks empire so hes like a brain hooked up to the internet and can understand it

  • @3dollarbrain I think the original idea for the emperor was that it was wired up so that it knew everything that was going on in battle. This was written before the Internet existed, the thought of wireless uplinks for battle info wouldn't have crossed the minds of the writers back then.

As for the classes I think it's just a case of what is needed. Like bees in a way, a queen is needed to start a hive then the others become workers and warriors. One supreme, others are warriors.

  • at 0:39, there is a dvd picture thing

  • that emperor is so useless when ignored, but id love to have his voice!!

  • there are some scenes with toy daleks

    0:41

    1:00

    lol!

  • It's so obvious, too.

  • Be good to RE MAKE the story .....there allways Re makeing films !

  • yes why not?

  • As far as I know, they've actually made it into a play!

  • heh im doing a coloured version of this scene , with new models of daleks and death rays

  • I'd love to watch this whole episode!

    Too bad it's lost :(

  • Pretty good..

  • wait, did all of the daleks just let their emperor die and then explode? By the way, awesome clip!

  • well, there was a "civil war" going on....the emperor and the black leader daleks vs the "human" daleks.....daleks that has the human factor, made them question orders and stuff....its a good story

  • Thanks, I'll have to check this movie out. Looks pretty rockin'!

  • its an episode!

  • touché plus its really good for an old ep plus the emporars voice is awsome :)
