The truth is most aircraft have a limit of max cross wind landing of about 35 knots.

Any pilot attempting a landing beyond that is either a nutter, or wants to retire for some reason :-))

Note that when the wind blows at 55 knots it doesn't really mean you are getting 55 knots crosswind. Depending on the angle difference between runway and wind direction, you get a croswind component, and is the one that matters.
