@KidOmniMan which is that our politicians have WAY TOO MUCH power. There would be no war in Iraq, afghanistan, ect. There would be no EPA to pass out 100's of regulations that cripple businesses and destroy jobs. There would be no DHS, which violates our fundamental right to privacy.
@cameltoejoe69 If the government had some common sense, people were informed and lobbyists didn't run Washington we wouldn't have pointless wars, and bills written by lobbyists.
But what I'm really getting at is that many of your concerns and values are represented by Occupy Wall Street because the main goal that everyone can agree on, unless they are paid not to, is that the government has to start representing the country and it's citizens instead of donors and lobbyists.
@cameltoejoe69 And whether or not anyone wants to admit it, even the Tea Party and Occupy have some things in common, the Tea Party just seems to have been co-opted by the powers that be and redirected from their anger over the bail-outs towards partisan objectives like tax-cuts and regulations. The country can come together on some issues just not all at once and right now corruption and bought off politicians are the big problem. The corruption needs to end before we can fix things proper.
@KidOmniMan Ohh IK the tea party and occupy movement have many things in common but there IS a difference. Tea parties have been faithful to nonviolence and we believe in working within the system to fix it. The occupy movement has been largely marred by violence and socially unacceptable behavior and most (and socialists who believe in revolution through any means necessary. We can come together and solve this problem but first we have to be able to admit what the problem is and part of
@cameltoejoe69 For one, people, at least one person I saw on camera, brought an assault rifle to a presidential event and others had sign about the tree of liberty which is easily a direct threat. There was also footage I saw of people getting attacked at Tea Party events for asking questions of certain politicians but that is individuals within a movement, not the movement itself. Most Occupy protesters are against violence and most of the violence so far is from police AGAINST the protesters
@KidOmniMan the problem is that government clearly has too much power and influence in our daily lives. However, if you want to shrink the size/scope of government now, you're called out as a racist, a poor hater, and you just want old people and children to starve and you want the planet to rot and that is not the case at all. If we can have honest debate about our ideas without all the name-calling, MAYBE we could make some progress.
@cameltoejoe69 Yeah, because it's only one side calling names. There are things that most people will never agree on, Social Security is something most people will always support because it IS good for the country and prevents many elderly from living in absolute squalor. Disagree with it on principle all you want it isn't going away just as the second amendment isn't going away no matter how much some on the left disagree with it. Let's focus on what we ALL can agree on, it's time for action
@cameltoejoe69 If any progress is going to be made it has to be towards the fundamental corruption that we all disagree with, hence the 99%, because if we don't fix that it doesn't matter what system we use, Libertarian, Socialist, Conservative or Liberal or what financial system we use be it Capitalist, Communist, Socialist or even Fascist. If it is built on corruption and cronyism it will not work for the citizens of this country and no side right or left will be happy. Only the 1% benefits.
@cameltoejoe69 Until the system is fixed government will only shrink in limited ways--removing services that protect the poor and middle class, the environment, and so on. Those with the wealth and power right now will not LET you shrink the government programs that benefit THEM. You have to wake up to that.
@aaronpolitical Im already well aware of that fact but the answer is not violent overthrow of the government. The answer is not to occupy the business districts in protest. The answer is to vote out ALL the bums and get new blood in there. And if the newbies dont do the job we want them to, then THROW THEM out as well! And keep doing it until we DO find somebody with a spine. All the occupy movement is doing is hurting businesses, which ultimately hurts the low/middle class workers and not
@cameltoejoe69 That's your answer. Others, like me, don't think it will work. But OWS isn't a "violent overthrow of the government", you must be watching too much Fox News. You seem intelligent, surely you realize there are many elements trying to take advantage of this movement.
Think of it more as Tea Party 2, this time we won't sell out. Because that's the reality.
Your voting solution WILL happen, but it won't be enough. I think 2012 will be crazy, and I'll love it.
@aaronpolitical If voting doesnt work its not because the system is flawed its because the people are not deserving of freedom. If we're so stupid as to believe that the solution to this mess is to TAX our way out of it when the debt is larger than our country's GDP, then we do not deserve to be free. If we'll choose social security/medicare/welfare benefits over the opportunity to succeed/fail by our own hard work and merit, then we do not deserve to be free. Entitlements arent what made
@aaronpolitical America great. America has always been great because it USED to be the place that provides the greatest freedom and stability and an environment where even a humble immigrant worker who came here LEGALLY could go from being a dishwasher to a business owner within the SAME generation. It is not that way anymore primarily because we have learned to rely more on government and not on ourselves. And those who rely on government will NEVER vote for it to be smaller.
@cameltoejoe69 Do you have even the slightest clue how the quality of life for many Americans (elderly and poor) improved after those entitlements you so hate went into effect? THAT is what made America great.
And fuck off about taxes. They are at an all time low! There is no way, absolutely NO WAY, that the current tax rate is ideal. That means we've been fucking up all these years, back when you said America was "so great". Just for one argument.
@aaronpolitical I'm sorry but your disillusioned. America was great BEFORE social security/welfare/medicare because of its people and its ideas. Quality of life has only improved because the WEALTH of the nation improved. Before those entitlements FAMILIES took care of the elderly. PEOPLE actually CARED about those in their community. Welfare/SS never made anyone rich or brought anyone from rags to riches. All i hear from SS beneficiaries is "i didnt get my cost of living increase"
@cameltoejoe69 Completely incorrect and out of touch with history. Taxes were extremely high back in those times, too, by the way. And the Great Depression...did you forget about that? We fixed that boom and bust cycle with regulation, until recently.
@aaronpolitical Ha! Really? you think the Fed has fixed boom/Bust cycles? Do you not remember the 70's and the Carter oil crisis? Stag-Flation ring a bell? What about the recession we had right before the tech boom when Clinton was in office. The fed has done almost as much as the federal government to hurt our economy and if you dont recognize that then you must be blind, or you must be watching MSNBC.
@aaronpolitical and all i see from people on welfare is healthy individuals capable of working hard but who lack ambition and drive. When my grandparents migrated to this country they had $500 in their pocket. Not alot, even during the 1950's. My G-ma worked in the ghettos as a substitute teacher and my g-pa had to work two jobs but they made it just fine and provided a better life for all of their children and grandchildren AND WE DIDNT HAVE WELFARE TO DO IT!
@aaronpolitical Yeah I've noticed. Government has grown, dependence on government has grown, freedom has waned. That doesnt mean we should just stand by idly and get used to it. Idk about you but I want my fucking country back.
@aaronpolitical Welfare just creates a class of dependents which the parties pander to in order to gain votes. And thats part of Americas problem. We have too many people with their hands out waiting for a fish and we have too few fishermen and too MANY taxes stealing away what spare fish they have. AND the tax scheme IS unfair. According to the IRS the top 1% you hate so much pay 40% of the tax burden. The top 10% Pay 90%! And all you pissants do is scream that its not enough
@aaronpolitical The truth is they're paying MORE than their fair share. We dont have a revenue problem we have a SPENDING problem. Even if you taxed EVERYBODY in this country 100% you couldnt get out of this problem. and THERE is another point: almost 50% of Americans dont even pay federal income taxes. So before you start preaching about "fair share" this and that, how about those 50% of Americans paying THEIR fair share. We're ALL Americans so we should ALL pay.
@cameltoejoe69 If you taxed us all 100% we could have many, many times the budget we have now. You are a complete and utter moron, brainwashed by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. There is no hope for you.
The poor don't pay taxes because they fucking CAN'T! What percent of $10,000 should they be paying? How much would that help the deficit.
@aaronpolitical Look the USA GDP is somewhere around 14.5 trillion dollars. If you tax everyone at 100%, that means you could ONLY extract 14.5 trillion dollars out of the US economy because you cant tax out MORE than what the private sector produces. Our current national debt is 15 trillion and rising at a rate of roughly 8-9 billion per day. Those are all facts you can google them yourself. Either that or hide behind your ignorance. Totally your choice but you cant change the truth.
This is amazing I love the way everybody is sticking together and even with the police trying to us unnessary force the protester remain peaceful this movement will go down in the history book I love the fact that I a living to witness it
I'm old enough to have been around during the movements of the 60's, and my only hope is that it can have the same effect but even more so.
When thousands of people peacefully take to the streets it means something is wrong somewhere.
Great strides were taken toward a just society back then, but much of what was gained has been whittled away by those relentless hucksters who care only for their own agenda.
Wow. Protesting in front of a Canadian bank that is regulated out the yingyang by Parliament that played a negligible role in the collapse of the world economy..*Facepalm*
This is so amazing. I'm so happy to be alive right now. I may not have a lot of money and I may not be able to get a good paying job and I may be choking on student loan debt, but this shit gives me hope.
I am afraid this "movement" has been infiltrated by the NWO and is an action being used to cause a reaction - for the stupids to ask the "government" to crack down, "save" them - to make the government even bigger and stronger.
I don't see where this will go....yet. I DO think that, eventually, the road to real freedom from the fascists will only be the shedding of blood. The bankers planned for these days many many years ago.
The bankers and politicians aren't doing this !! Its the pigs , soldiers and other dumb animals they recruit , so the people are doing it to themselves ....
@johntrauger68 i handle my business! im a pharmacologist, my student loans are paid off, and i have a nice house! meanwhile you are whining in the street wanting somebody else to pay your bills and take care of you! where is your responsibility and pride? you are pathetic!
@johntrauger68 for all? you have enough trouble making it on your own! even people with mental disabilities are working at mcdonalds and making a living while you are sitting on your ass! come talk to me when you can have an ADULT conversation without sophomoric insults!
@mandy26lez Call the whambulance poor little mandy like all conservative whiners can't take it . If you are really 17 you know nothing of the world . I'm glad you like your job at macdonalds but it impresses no one .
@mesaeddie im not 17 i left home when i was 17! no wonder you are on the streets you cant even read! cant wait till nyc hits -30 below zero so you babies can finally go home and stop terrorizing children going to and from school, people going to and from work, running up the cities budget on extra police security, and turning away tourists! i feel sorry for the children that have been forced by their parents to attend this massive pity party and forced them to live in squaller!
@mandy26lez I don't care what 'race' you consider yourself. what I refer to is the slaves that tended the masters house, the "house niggers" as they called them. they woyld sude with the masters because they were given preferential treatment. They got better food, better, less uncomfortable quarters. During many of the slave uprisings, they would fought at the side of their masters instead of the side of their fellow slaves. You serve the masters; you fight for those who've enslaved you.
@MisterEvil1 i dont have a master. i dont tend to someone else's house! i can afford my own food, house, car, and student loans! dont you idiots realize you are being funded by the 1%'ers like george soros, michael moore, kanye west, alec baldwin, russel simmons, tim robbins, susan sarandon, and etc! you are their little house niggers enjoy sucking on their cocks for nourishment to fuel your pity party!
@mandy26lez Your house has a mortgage I assume? You are OWNED! They OWN you! Your very life does not belong to you. You do have a master! Your masters Rupert Murdoch and The Koch brothers OWN you. They call you "little people"
You can take your rage filled slurs and choke on them.
@MisterEvil1 nobody owns me dumbass paying debt is a part of life if you want anything like a car or house! you started the racism hows and i finished it! when it becomes below zero weather and the celebrities and other liberal groups that fund your little pity party will lose interest then your "movement" will end! it took you long enough to respond did you have a few of your little deadbeat friends that share a brain help you write it?
@mandy26lez if you still owe money on the property it is not yours, its the banks. he was calling you a slave to master...the master he is referring to in this case is the 1 percent. you would rather fight for your master, not your fellow man. its not a liberal movement... its a movement driven by the 99 percent, aka america. Its just people expressing what they believe needs to be done to in order to achieve economic stability and social justice. don't discredit occupy, its beautiful.
@mandy26lez 30 below in NY? Not gonna happen. The record low for NYC is -15. Do some research before making yourself look like the idiot you so obviously are.
And Fox is reporting that the support for the movement has dropped, even read a few articles on liberal blogs staying the same thing. They only wish. It's obvious that the movement is growing, even in very small towns like mine. One of the bestthings I saw was a couple of people dressed up like trees with a sign that read "Bloomberg beware Liberty square is everywhere".
And Mayor Bloomberg said to the mass media their were only a few hundred protestors so dont bother and go home, the mayor is afraid this is the time to take power back dont beleive the lies that are meant to disuade you and and control your minds especially from media police and other authority's. i noticed that the senior police operatives are well filled out are'nt they?
4:04-4:08 the cop in the leather brown jacket is scared shitless about the people just mobing there ass, wonder how long till that happens.sorry cops but when 150,000,000 people are comin at all 1,000,000 what you gonna do,what you gonna do when america freedom and liberty run wild on you ?
what if you guys split the movement up and all went in different directions and did whatever you guys could to get into wall street there has to be a way in
if you cant get there dont give up WE NEED TO KEEP FIGHTING and ha bisky upload
0:51 do my eyes decieve me or is this pig coppin a feel? even if it can be said he was trying to pull her from the crowd his instinct is grab her by the tit?
ages ago i said stop letting them take you im so fucking happy that i finally saw people not letting one of their brothers in arms be taken. i mean that was beautiful do you see how crestfallen those fukcing pigs looked
What I want to see that would make me feel so much better about this whole situation is to see just one police officer stand apart from the others, remove the riot gear, his/her badge and gun, and join the protestors.
see if you can find out who is funding the Batman message on the skyscraper, seems like a big money, big influence. Who scripts the messages.? No one is reporting on this as far as I can tell. Thanks
@izaccy You comment is interesting , seems that you know good exists in the world even yet, for that I am glad. And I am sure that it was "a guy", I suppose it could have been a woman, and you know it was a guy who "helped make it " and you heard it on the Rachel Maddow show. If it is important for you to believe me paranoid that is fine . Mind if I call you naive? do you know the dynamics 0f what is taking place in this country? whether you believe it or not powerful groups are at play here
@sailfished Cont. And it is critical for this movement that we know who they are what there agenda is and how it is being used. This is no different than the tea party. when it began it was a threat to the system so the system took it over, it may as well be an arm of homeland security now. The same forces are at work here on an even more immediate scale. The very people we are against{and we are on the same side, I think} are trying to make sure this movement is also co-opted. Peace
it's funny cause the wall street bankers these cops are protecting stole all their pensions

KidOmniMan 3 months ago
@KidOmniMan the problem is that government clearly has too much power and influence in our daily lives. However, if you want to shrink the size/scope of government now, you're called out as a racist, a poor hater, and you just want old people and children to starve and you want the planet to rot and that is not the case at all. If we can have honest debate about our ideas without all the name-calling, MAYBE we could make some progress.
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 Yeah, because it's only one side calling names. There are things that most people will never agree on, Social Security is something most people will always support because it IS good for the country and prevents many elderly from living in absolute squalor. Disagree with it on principle all you want it isn't going away just as the second amendment isn't going away no matter how much some on the left disagree with it. Let's focus on what we ALL can agree on, it's time for action
KidOmniMan 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 If any progress is going to be made it has to be towards the fundamental corruption that we all disagree with, hence the 99%, because if we don't fix that it doesn't matter what system we use, Libertarian, Socialist, Conservative or Liberal or what financial system we use be it Capitalist, Communist, Socialist or even Fascist. If it is built on corruption and cronyism it will not work for the citizens of this country and no side right or left will be happy. Only the 1% benefits.
KidOmniMan 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 Until the system is fixed government will only shrink in limited ways--removing services that protect the poor and middle class, the environment, and so on. Those with the wealth and power right now will not LET you shrink the government programs that benefit THEM. You have to wake up to that.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical Im already well aware of that fact but the answer is not violent overthrow of the government. The answer is not to occupy the business districts in protest. The answer is to vote out ALL the bums and get new blood in there. And if the newbies dont do the job we want them to, then THROW THEM out as well! And keep doing it until we DO find somebody with a spine. All the occupy movement is doing is hurting businesses, which ultimately hurts the low/middle class workers and not
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 That's your answer. Others, like me, don't think it will work. But OWS isn't a "violent overthrow of the government", you must be watching too much Fox News. You seem intelligent, surely you realize there are many elements trying to take advantage of this movement.
Think of it more as Tea Party 2, this time we won't sell out. Because that's the reality.
Your voting solution WILL happen, but it won't be enough. I think 2012 will be crazy, and I'll love it.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical If voting doesnt work its not because the system is flawed its because the people are not deserving of freedom. If we're so stupid as to believe that the solution to this mess is to TAX our way out of it when the debt is larger than our country's GDP, then we do not deserve to be free. If we'll choose social security/medicare/welfare benefits over the opportunity to succeed/fail by our own hard work and merit, then we do not deserve to be free. Entitlements arent what made
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical America great. America has always been great because it USED to be the place that provides the greatest freedom and stability and an environment where even a humble immigrant worker who came here LEGALLY could go from being a dishwasher to a business owner within the SAME generation. It is not that way anymore primarily because we have learned to rely more on government and not on ourselves. And those who rely on government will NEVER vote for it to be smaller.
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 Do you have even the slightest clue how the quality of life for many Americans (elderly and poor) improved after those entitlements you so hate went into effect? THAT is what made America great.
And fuck off about taxes. They are at an all time low! There is no way, absolutely NO WAY, that the current tax rate is ideal. That means we've been fucking up all these years, back when you said America was "so great". Just for one argument.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical I'm sorry but your disillusioned. America was great BEFORE social security/welfare/medicare because of its people and its ideas. Quality of life has only improved because the WEALTH of the nation improved. Before those entitlements FAMILIES took care of the elderly. PEOPLE actually CARED about those in their community. Welfare/SS never made anyone rich or brought anyone from rags to riches. All i hear from SS beneficiaries is "i didnt get my cost of living increase"
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 Completely incorrect and out of touch with history. Taxes were extremely high back in those times, too, by the way. And the Great Depression...did you forget about that? We fixed that boom and bust cycle with regulation, until recently.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical Ha! Really? you think the Fed has fixed boom/Bust cycles? Do you not remember the 70's and the Carter oil crisis? Stag-Flation ring a bell? What about the recession we had right before the tech boom when Clinton was in office. The fed has done almost as much as the federal government to hurt our economy and if you dont recognize that then you must be blind, or you must be watching MSNBC.
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical and all i see from people on welfare is healthy individuals capable of working hard but who lack ambition and drive. When my grandparents migrated to this country they had $500 in their pocket. Not alot, even during the 1950's. My G-ma worked in the ghettos as a substitute teacher and my g-pa had to work two jobs but they made it just fine and provided a better life for all of their children and grandchildren AND WE DIDNT HAVE WELFARE TO DO IT!
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 The world has changed since those days. Try to keep up. Try living like that now.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical Yeah I've noticed. Government has grown, dependence on government has grown, freedom has waned. That doesnt mean we should just stand by idly and get used to it. Idk about you but I want my fucking country back.
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical Welfare just creates a class of dependents which the parties pander to in order to gain votes. And thats part of Americas problem. We have too many people with their hands out waiting for a fish and we have too few fishermen and too MANY taxes stealing away what spare fish they have. AND the tax scheme IS unfair. According to the IRS the top 1% you hate so much pay 40% of the tax burden. The top 10% Pay 90%! And all you pissants do is scream that its not enough
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical The truth is they're paying MORE than their fair share. We dont have a revenue problem we have a SPENDING problem. Even if you taxed EVERYBODY in this country 100% you couldnt get out of this problem. and THERE is another point: almost 50% of Americans dont even pay federal income taxes. So before you start preaching about "fair share" this and that, how about those 50% of Americans paying THEIR fair share. We're ALL Americans so we should ALL pay.
cameltoejoe69 3 months ago
@cameltoejoe69 If you taxed us all 100% we could have many, many times the budget we have now. You are a complete and utter moron, brainwashed by Fox News and Rush Limbaugh. There is no hope for you.
The poor don't pay taxes because they fucking CAN'T! What percent of $10,000 should they be paying? How much would that help the deficit.
Fuck off you rightwing idiot! You make me sick.
aaronpolitical 3 months ago
@aaronpolitical Look the USA GDP is somewhere around 14.5 trillion dollars. If you tax everyone at 100%, that means you could ONLY extract 14.5 trillion dollars out of the US economy because you cant tax out MORE than what the private sector produces. Our current national debt is 15 trillion and rising at a rate of roughly 8-9 billion per day. Those are all facts you can google them yourself. Either that or hide behind your ignorance. Totally your choice but you cant change the truth.

Evolution is a painfully slow process.
Bravo OWS.
Keep on keepin' on.

Look for a war with Iran as a distraction.

mandy26lez 3 months ago
@mandy26lez I don't care what 'race' you consider yourself. what I refer to is the slaves that tended the masters house, the "house niggers" as they called them. they woyld sude with the masters because they were given preferential treatment. They got better food, better, less uncomfortable quarters. During many of the slave uprisings, they would fought at the side of their masters instead of the side of their fellow slaves. You serve the masters; you fight for those who've enslaved you.
MisterEvil1 3 months ago 4
@MisterEvil1 i dont have a master. i dont tend to someone else's house! i can afford my own food, house, car, and student loans! dont you idiots realize you are being funded by the 1%'ers like george soros, michael moore, kanye west, alec baldwin, russel simmons, tim robbins, susan sarandon, and etc! you are their little house niggers enjoy sucking on their cocks for nourishment to fuel your pity party!

This movement CAN NOT be stopped!
MisterEvil1 3 months ago
@MisterEvil1 nobody owns me dumbass paying debt is a part of life if you want anything like a car or house! you started the racism hows and i finished it! when it becomes below zero weather and the celebrities and other liberal groups that fund your little pity party will lose interest then your "movement" will end! it took you long enough to respond did you have a few of your little deadbeat friends that share a brain help you write it?
mandy26lez 3 months ago
@mandy26lez if you still owe money on the property it is not yours, its the banks. he was calling you a slave to master...the master he is referring to in this case is the 1 percent. you would rather fight for your master, not your fellow man. its not a liberal movement... its a movement driven by the 99 percent, aka america. Its just people expressing what they believe needs to be done to in order to achieve economic stability and social justice. don't discredit occupy, its beautiful.

Peace
