I actually like the interactions between Jecht and Tidus. ^_^ I kind of remember reading in an article that the reason they chose Jecht was because he has more of a connection with Tidus than Seymour. I mean, Seymour was after his lady love, but Jecht is the father that left him when he was a kid and set the blitzball standard, ya know?
he is pathetic, not dark. He never had any plan... "Shit, I need to kill everybody" "Daughter of high summoner! I merry her and she will make me a Sin!" "She is on my side" "She is not on my side" "I'm dead" "I'm alive" "She is on my side" "She is not" "I'm dead?" "Kill all Ronso!" fail "I'm alive?" "I have all time of the world ! ETERNAL!!!!11oneonetwo" "I'm dead"
I don't understand why Jecht would be on the side of Chaos in this game. I mean, he is an antagonist in FFX, at least when the story is understood through Tidus' perspective, but as the story progresses you find that Jecht was fighting against Sin with Braska much like Tidus with Yuna. And he was even willing to sacrifice himself to become the Final Summoning. So he may suck as a father, but he's not truly evil. He fought Tidus HOPING to be destroyed, to end Spira's spiral of death.
In this game, the "villains" are not merely the "evil overlords from the original series." More importantly some of them have a personal relationship with the heroes. The story is more about the heroes conquering their own demons than about them trying to save the world. That's why Golbez was chosen over Zemus/Zeromus, and Jecht over Seymour/Yu Yevon, because of the shadow they cast within the hearts of the heroes.
Tidus doesn't seem as bitter towards Jecht as he was in the beginning of 10...
Or maybe just set in an alternate time since Dissidia technically is a spin-off.
But with reference to the implications of a previous confrontation between the two, it's most like refering to their match in the Destiny Odessy story line.
Exactly. Dissidia fits into the original series in the same way as Kingdom Hearts: it doesn't. In the canon storyline of the original series, they never travelled to an alternate universe and never met each other. When each of their original stories began most of them don't even know the villain, and by the end, most of the villains are dead, for good.
Wat i mean is that all 22 character fight for good or evil
Well Chaos said they lot of them would be scattered
He must have said they would be removed from that universe and go to where they belong FF1-11 universes and they never met again perhaps they get a reminder or something like in 9 wen u c the buster sword and zidane said he new a guy w/ spikey hair using that
Like Chrono Cross ppl met n fought together only go their ways bak 2 their own time
Again, Dissidia just doesn't fit the timeline of the original FFs. In your example, Zidane would say this as soon as he reaches Lindblum in disc 1. If this meant that he went to the Dissidia world before that, then he would have recognised Kuja, which he didn't at the end of disc 1, and he would also have recognised the Crystal World, which he didn't.
Perhaps he didnt remember because this time he had the friends from his universe and THEIR memories come together... not the ones he fought with a long time ago
Huh? So he arbitrarily remembers Cloud (with whom he spent very little time) but he doesn't recall his greatest nemesis? Also, if we were to assume that Dissidia took place before FF9, then how did Zidane even know Kuja in Dissidia?
hey well wouldnt that be messed up not to remember family? haha i mean if tidus hated his dad for so long of course he'd remember who he was in his real time... i mean theres even sephiroth he always said in every game he fought cloud that he remains in him.. WHEREVER he goes forever
well its how the audience wants to take it yes its non canon but if u just ignore that it makes everything else a bit ironic/interesting to how cameos and references of characters and other things r made within each game
Tidus sounds lyk Ichigo from Bleach! Or is it just me...?

Still I rather think Seymour would be more bad ass in this game just by his dark personality...

In the previous war Jecht was on Cosmos's side but he was killed by the emperor. The emperor then turned his body to the side of Chaos.

Some characters seem to be taken from after their games, like Tidus and Cloud. While others seem to be taken before, like Tina/Terra.
And, then there's the mysteries surrounding the Cosmos and Chaos reports as well as the secret ending.
Geez, this story is so confusing. <_<

So, What you're saying is, This happens after X and during X-2!

dissidia events happened after x ..but Im not sure if it happened during, or after x-2.
shababchy 3 years ago
Well, think about it, (SPOILER) In the ending, everybody returns home! THEN! Tidus woke up in the good ending in X-2!

This is another side of their conflict in FFX, so it's not exactly after or before FFX, it's more like a side story.

I agree. Dissidia was a "lapse-in-time" kind of Final Fantasy game.

If you say dissidia took place before ff9 is had to take place before final iv and the next game after where golbez fights alongside cecil
Id say this how no storyline that goes with anyother game

Dissidia is totally non canon, it cant be fit together with the main series.
