@katescapes playa the trills twice for instance if you trill from e to f go efef(dc) or whatever notes come after that or think of the trolls like sixteenths
@mangomaddy12 try putting your mouth further on to the clarinet when playing the high C and also more the clarinet straighter out of your mouth, hope this will help!
@ThisIsNotHappeningXF Try playing each note very long. Then slowly get faster until you get the trill. Depending on who's judging you, they don't generally care if it's perfect or not. As long as you can get the notes and do it semi-fast
Good job, but there is a disparity in tempo between the passages. You may need a metronome to perfect this piece. By the way, 5,000 times more, at least, of practice might be needed to make this piece impeccable.
(i've been playing clarinet for 9 years, piano for 14, and guitar for 2 so nobody can say that i dont know my stuff lol) ANYWAY... nice job but here are my words of wisdom. be more musical w/ the dynamics instead of being so literal about them. dont puff out your cheeks... your tone WILL be better if you dont (just need to get used to it), work on tone lol are you playing on a plastic clarinet? a wood clarinet is always a wise investment. so good job but room to improve like us all :o)
@JenAllDaWay lol a 6th grader playing this piece is ridiculously absurd! if a 6th grader can play this well AND musically i'd be very impressed... not saying that you can't do it, im just saying it's unrealistic of your director to expect this from you guys when you're just starting to play. wow... good luck
I played this at solo and ensamble and got a one. A little constructive critisism, after the trilling part you play the eighth notes way too fast. :) but you did awesome anyway lol
your sound is not at its best because you aren't supporting from the stomach and you might be breathing into your chest, opening up and breathing all the way down into your kidneys and squeezing the air out will really darken your sound. You may have changed all of this completely in the last year but I hope this might help otherwise. Also studying privately, if you haven't started, is always the best fix for things you have and haven't noticed.
It's because when you puff your cheeks you open your throat up which is good but you still shouldn't puff out your cheeks your supposed to lower you lower jaw which also open your throat up.
good except for those mistakes you mentioned... what clarinet are you using?

@rapidkill1000 Sorry if the explanation is a little repetitive
rapidkill1000 10 months ago
@limon2lime You're not supposed to puff your cheeks. That's like the clarinet rule.

i played this for my allstate audition, and also my scholarship audition.
little advice, when you're at the beginning, don't punc the first note so hard.
sounds good though!
