  • good except for those mistakes you mentioned... what clarinet are you using?

  • @katescapes playa the trills twice for instance if you trill from e to f go efef(dc) or whatever notes come after that or think of the trolls like sixteenths

  • What are some tips to play the staccato notes so fast but sound so perfect and not fumbley? because I'm playing this on my solo this year

  • Hey, how did you master the trills so well? I have to play this for an audition, so I am just wondering. Thanks :)

  • Thank u so much for posting this because it has helped me learn the song for solo & ensemble.

  • Im playin this for solo and ensemble!! Go boy clarinets!!

  • Really love this piece and im thinking of doing this as a solo for UIL any tips anyone?

  • Cheeks in and emborchoure or how ever you spell it. Hood job thougg

  • @mangomaddy12 try putting your mouth further on to the clarinet when playing the high C and also more the clarinet straighter out of your mouth, hope this will help!

  • oh my god!!!! this left me speechless ur AMAZING!!

  • Hey! Could you sub back please?? :) Thanks!!

  • Well played! I just started playing this on my saxophone, really like this piece and your sound was great!

  • dude cheecks in! xD the rest i understand as a clarinet player myself but dude cheecks in at least mistakes ok but still fix the cheecks!

  • wow i have to play this piece for NYSSMA and im only 11

  • @xxchristina13 Haha, me too.

  • @MusicAndPancakes what was your score for NYSSMA ...when you played "divertimento"

  • This was so good! :D This is my audition piece for our district bandd. So hopefully i can do well. Haha. (:

  • I'm having trouble with the trills, like playing them. lol I'm having trouble getting the notes out, but only when I do the trills. Any advice?

  • @ThisIsNotHappeningXF Try playing each note very long. Then slowly get faster until you get the trill. Depending on who's judging you, they don't generally care if it's perfect or not. As long as you can get the notes and do it semi-fast

  • im very jealous i cant plaay that middle part

  • soooo easy! you did awesome playing this! i am going to for a competition and it's one of my favorite songs to play!

  • Good job, but there is a disparity in tempo between the passages. You may need a metronome to perfect this piece. By the way, 5,000 times more, at least, of practice might be needed to make this piece impeccable.

  • This is my audition piece for all-state band. I have a month.

  • @UpvsDown yay me too!!!!!

  • how long did it take you to learn the piece, because i have an audition using it and i only have four months to learn it, but im in 8th grade

  • @crisvuz222 it took me about 2 weeks but as u can tell it wasnt perfect

  • (i've been playing clarinet for 9 years, piano for 14, and guitar for 2 so nobody can say that i dont know my stuff lol) ANYWAY... nice job but here are my words of wisdom. be more musical w/ the dynamics instead of being so literal about them. dont puff out your cheeks... your tone WILL be better if you dont (just need to get used to it), work on tone lol are you playing on a plastic clarinet? a wood clarinet is always a wise investment. so good job but room to improve like us all :o)

  • i have to play this piece for an audition for my area's band...oh great this ought a be fun.

  • im in 7th grade an this is a piece of cake for me lol!!!!

  • cool vid i am in grade 10 and i have difficulty playing this!!...lol!!!

  • I'm just a 6th grader, who was picked to be one symphonic band member . I have to do this to pass 0________0

  • @JenAllDaWay lol a 6th grader playing this piece is ridiculously absurd! if a 6th grader can play this well AND musically i'd be very impressed... not saying that you can't do it, im just saying it's unrealistic of your director to expect this from you guys when you're just starting to play. wow... good luck

  • I played this at solo and ensamble and got a one. A little constructive critisism, after the trilling part you play the eighth notes way too fast. :) but you did awesome anyway lol

  • Comment removed

  • Surprising you got second :-/ I wish I lived in your county!

  • haha me too, you have to play the solo perfectly just to get last chair concert band in MA haha

  • awesome man!

I'm also playing this for solo and ensemble contest. =

  • wow are you serious... im just playing this for solo and ensemble and this is your allstate audition... im in 7th grade playing it perfectly.

  • same. i'm really advanced for a seventh grade and im playing this peice for a solo and i've ony had it for a week and ive almost got it downn

  • how do u play so well wile puffing ur cheeks?

  • Idk i have always asked myself the same thing. its weird because my tone is worse when i don't do it

  • @mastermind1514

your sound is not at its best because you aren't supporting from the stomach and you might be breathing into your chest, opening up and breathing all the way down into your kidneys and squeezing the air out will really darken your sound. You may have changed all of this completely in the last year but I hope this might help otherwise. Also studying privately, if you haven't started, is always the best fix for things you have and haven't noticed.

  • @mastermind1514

It's because when you puff your cheeks you open your throat up which is good but you still shouldn't puff out your cheeks your supposed to lower you lower jaw which also open your throat up.

  • @rapidkill1000 Sorry if the explanation is a little repetitive

  • @limon2lime You're not supposed to puff your cheeks. That's like the clarinet rule.

  • I'm playing this as my solo later this year. I love this piece. Good job!

  • i played this for my allstate audition, and also my scholarship audition.

little advice, when you're at the beginning, don't punc the first note so hard.

    sounds good though!
