  • all those autralian soldiers and POW's who fought in paua new guinea after all that the japanes did to them they were forced to forgive them or be known as a racist australian who did not deserve to live

  • @usnavysealsguy

    what do you mean ?

  • @Perseiden2 well my grandad was in ww2 when he returned he was badmouthing the japs no one had a problem with it then but now i was telling a kid at school how much i dislike thye japs for what they did inj ww2 and he told me that i should die and a similiar thing happened to my grandad the other day

  • my father served in the Papua New Guinea campaign in 1944-45 and this video is a wonderful tribute to him and all aussie soldiers who fought gallantly during that time. Lest we forget.

  • If we didnt have all our resources and best troops tied up in europe we could have defeated the japanese convincingly... can you imagine if we had the 6th and 9th divisons in asia from the start

  • no heroism in death, you only have one life, wake up

  • how touching , politicians who declare war on others, but hide like cowardly dogs and send others to die, its just shows you how low down they are

  • Stirring & very inspiring posting !! Now listen here, you damned Australian politicians & supposed govt leaders of this great nation. This clip should be made compulsory viewing for you all, before you take office. You have an inbuilt publicly-elected Duty Of Care & Obligation to (a) ensure that our nation never FORGETS all these sacrifices made in armed conflict, and (b) for christ sake, NEVER AGAIN toady to the yanks; NEVER AGAIN send our young people to unjust wars where we in no way belong.

  • What a great video, full of honour and valor. Well done. Lest We Forget.

  • Where were the British when the Japanese hit us in New guinea? They didn't even let all our diggers come back and fight! Fight for an Australian republic!

  • Yeah, because if the German took the Suez Canal they would have had the petrol and the British Commonwealth forces would have lacked it.

Very, VERY bad news that would have been for the allies. Refresh my memory, was Australia lacking enough troops to win on New Guinea? The U.S. was also in the war against Japan at that point.

  • The Americans joined towards the end of the Kokoda Campaign once the Australians had pushed the Japanese back to their beach head at Gona Beach.

  • semtex84 the New Guinea campaign was not over till 1945

  • @irishlight42

Aust mostly had militia troops initially in New Guinea. Churchill and Roosevelt did not want our Army returned from the mid east to defend our own country. Curtin demanded the that troops be returned. So 400 untrained 18-19 yo militia troops took on the vanguard of 10,000 japs and with fighting withdrawls delayed the Japs adv by two weeks, Japs had given themselves 2 weeks to take Port Morseby. Just in time the returned Army got to them at Isurava before they were wiped out .

  • @irishlight42

The Japs were later pushed back to the northern beaches by the Aussies where US troops were brought in to take Buna, they refused to fight, MacArthur sent Eichelberger up there "to sort them out" ,the Aussies after taking their objective Gona, then took Buna and Sananada. Aust also defeated the Japs at Milne Bay which was the first defeat of the Japs on land in WW2. Aussies fought in Malaya, Borneo, Bouganville, Timor, Darwin, Rabaul, etc See Kokoda The Bloody Track on youtube

  • Dude, I'm australian to but y the hell do u think that England hate us? The pommes couldn't help us in New Guinea bcos the germans were right up on their doorstep! And of course where not allowed to fight of their own accord. U can't just attack whoever u want, that is what the UN is for, to stop countries from taking over others, to stop world wars.

  • The UN was created after the end of world war two.

  • We gotta break away from the British commonwealth! "Great Britan has declared war upon her, and that as a result Australia is also at war." The British look at us as one thing my fellow Aussies, Cannon fodder. We must fight for an Australian republic, those fallen diggers have earned it for us. If we can get enough numbers supporting it we can get it. We can prevent this from happening again, if we move now, rapidly.

We as Aussies should be able to fight on our own accord, when WE are in danger

  • "We as Aussies should be able to fight on our own accord, when WE are in danger "

And you, as Aussies did. Don't tell me the Nazis didn't need to be defeated as well. Ireland, you may not have known, was still part of the Commonwealth at the start of WWII, but they didn't go to war.

"The British look at us as one thing my fellow Aussies, Cannon fodder."

Tell that to my British friend in Helmand Province with his Territorial Army unit. "Cannon fodder?!" Gallipoli was a long time ago.

  • did they play poker or just shooting tanks with artillery i am only 9

  • Nice! I made a tribute to!

  • Awesome video again Riley!

  • No one ever respects Australias commitment to World war 1 or 2.

  • I do and so does many people, Myself and the guy above you (Irishlight42) both respect the commonwealth more than most people im sure who live in those nations haha. He reenacts british for WWII and i believe hes working on NAM. And i do WWI aussie for the ANZACS, WWII 2/14TH AIF Australian and im not getting my Australian vietnam kit up and i wont lie, i couldent be any more proud when i put that uniform on! I for one will always teach about the sacrifices that the Australian soldier made.

  • @Shockedi fuck you i am an australian so fuck your mom

  • Well done, mate. Although the music got a little dull in the end, i like the message! 5 stars!

    Respect to ALL veterans!
