Actually, as impressive as this looks the entire concept is quite simple. However many inches of vacuum the Kirby pulls, it's just a matter of having enough surface area to put it to work. They didn't just stick the end of the hose (a few square inches) onto the roof, they have that entire structure that envelopes the entire roof (several square feet) so it multiplied the effect. If you pumped it long enough you could've done the same thing with a hand tire pump. I still like my Kirby though.
This was just a bit of fun. Electrolux ran an ad in the 80's showing the elctrolux lifting a bowling ball. Of course this was ridiculous and this was Kirby poking fun at the electrolux ad. This is actually the second part of the video. The first part shows the kirby lifting 1 then six bowling balls. It is designed to be funny.
@merouby excuse me. what do you know about my grandfathers company? Nothing. So dont Ruin our name with your lies. All Kirbys are built for reliability and performance.
people would actually believe this?? i hope not, very obviously a lie. i have a 1981 heritage I, its still a good vac for its age, but its my backup vacuum now. i have a more modern riccar. anyways for someone to ever believe that someone could lift a car with one of these vacuums, purely silly.
is it real suction or a magnent

I wonder how many of you were a client of mine. I used the sell Kirbys, in Toronto, in 1988. What a great machine.
