This is a great review of three of my favorite apps. I personally prefer Zite because it is the only one that intelligently learns your interests and customizes the feed to match. Flipboard is great on the iPad, but not so easy to use on iPhone. Pulse is a very useful app but is not nearly as pleasing aesthetically as the others. Pulse may actually provide the greatest amount of customization and depth of information, but Zite and Flipboard are just so beautiful it's hard not to keep coming back
You sound a lot like Geico gecko :) My favorite is FlipBoard, it has a more cleaner UI than other two. Pulse kind of gave me headaches, very busy UI for my liking!
One of the most important differences between Zite and the other 2 apps reviewed is that, Zite starts showing you articles for the topics you have chosen, without requiring you to setup specific sources. This is a great discovery tool and gets you several articles that you would otherwise have not found.
I tend to prefer using Zite (pronounced like Zeitgeist) and Flipboard on the iPad, the larger screen allows you to get a better summary of the articles, and the presentation is great for the large screen.
Pulse (more specifically Pulse Mini) is great on the iPhone, lots of stories, just the headlines, allowing you to quickly choose what to read.
If you want a Flipboad like app for the mac, try Pulp, its in the mac app store for about £5, but you can get a trial version from the developers website, so worth a look.
