  • This was a truly interesting interview, skillfully done. Ms Wilde certainly has the courage of her religious conviction, and keeps what seems accurate oral history. There are, in fact, certain Christian "ordinations" in other groups, existing outside of what might normally be considered as "the Church."

  • How can someone be so deluded? Poor woman. She doesn't know that polygamy only serves men and their sex lives. What planet do these ppl come from? But I am sure she will be with her husband and all his wives for eternity. They won't need to bring a sweater where they are going.

  • She seems very knowlegeable but what do they do with the Bible, and all the verses about God, and not adding to scripture? To me I wish she was that passionate about Jesus.

  • Bishop Warren Snow of Manti, San Pete County, although the husband of several wives, desired to add to his list a good-looking young woman in that town. When he proposed to her, she declined the honor, informing him that she was engaged to a younger man....he (the younger man) was one evening summoned to attend a meeting where only trusted members were present. Suddenly the lights were put out, he was beaten and tied to a bench, and Bishop Snow himself castrated him with a bowie knife.

  • i think noah told his son ham and grandson caanan that they and their descendants were to stay in africa. giving them the priesthood does not change their lineage.

  • There is much about the LDS Church this woman does not understand. For example, she said we no longer teach the gathering, which is not true. She said that we don't teach it, because people stay in there own country. The gathering has nothing to do with geography. It refers to missionary work and bringing souls to Christ.

  • This lady separates the Priesthood and the Church. You cannot have one without the other and she makes it seem like you can.

  • One of my earliest memories--I was under three, is of taking a trip up the Canyon with my Aunt Babe. She was quite old and had lived with her mother and had had 10 children there. I had a picture of Aunt Babe with her husband that my Grandma sent me. At the time of the Manifesto, which was a dream Wilford Woodruff had of how the Saints would suffer if they did not give up NEW polygamous marriages, men were not required to give up existing families, though many took them out of the country.
  • poor old mrs wilde- still chasing and spouting lies. poor old woman, she will wake up in hell for denying Christ as the Saviour. She persues her beliefs and works to save her soul. So sad.

  • This is from Wikipedia: Birth defects

The Colorado City/Hildale area has the world's highest incidence of fumarase deficiency, an extremely rare genetic condition which causes severe mental retardation. Geneticists attribute this to the prevalence of cousin marriage between descendants of two of the town's founders, Joseph Smith Jessup and John Yeates Barlow.

  • that is the saddest thing ever. i guess most of everybody on the compounds are related since the newcomers rate is pretty low... and when they all marry, you get some serious problems.

  • I am born downwind from the Nevada Atomic

Test site and our family has rare birth

defects, some of which predated the Testing.

So the Radiation brings out and potentiates

family or village traits that may have

lived near one another for thousands of years,

inbreeding and having little knowledge of

genetics. The atypical Nuerofibro- matosis/marfans we have is common in Wales, where my GGGrandfather came from. The traits in combination exist areas in radiation

    or dioxin saturated areas.

  • Maybe so, but the early saints were largely

Celts, who had lived in stable villages and

Clachans where there was and had been cousin marriage for many Milennia. So the rates of

Genetic Disease was high. Given this situation

the Atomic Testing was no blessing. Many Polygamous wives cared for their sister wives

and their children in deep poverty because

they were afraid to come forward.

  • provided that people are not Utahded and can keep track of who belongs to whom, so that they are not sleeping with their own grandchildren, then fine.

  • Here is one reason polygamy goes against the laws of man and nature: A genetic disorder called FUMARASE Deficiency that causes mental retardation and a host of other physical problems. Becoming profound as polygamist believe they want their bloodline "pure", so there is much inbreeding. It is a huge burden on the taxpayers of Arizona/Utah and neighboring areas. Google it.

  • Actually, there would be less inbreeding and more of a diversity of gene admixture. So polygamy is good for the society. The Lord knew what He was doing when he told those ancient Hebrews to spread their seed far and wide!

  • See comment on the Nevada Test Site.

Nuclear Testing with the help of

    concentration camp doctors went

against the laws of God and Nature.

And its effects were not confined to

the Polygamous. If Open air atomic

testing was an added burden on the

    taxpayers--I'm just crying in my

    beer, metaphoricly.

  • I recently saw the Joseph Smith movie that is now being show in the "Joseph Smith Memorial Center" in downtown Salt Lake City. What a joke.

It is about as far from historically accurate as it could get. It really just kind of glossed over certain topics, while completely ignoring other facts all together. They sure have manipulated and changes a lot of things to make it easy to swallow for the mainstream. Very inaccurate, missing key important historical FACTS.

  • how on earth could they fit EVERYTHING in to a movie that people could watch? That kind of logic just doesn't hold water

  • I don't expect them to put in EVERYTHING. but a little factual truth would be nice!

  • WAKE UP people... he was NO saint!

  • Joseph Smith had young wives. Today this is called statuatory rape.

he hid and lied about these relationships. Today we call this adultry.

he fathered more than one child to his secret brides and did not help to raise or acknowledge the children. Today, this would be called being a bastard.

he targeted many of the young girls to court as his "celestial bride". Today we would call this pedophilia.

he ordered a newspaper press to be burned down. Today we call this arson.

  • It's sad that Mormons and this lady can't see and understand that Joseph Smith was a fraud, a sinner, and a FALSE prophet. Polygyny is Biblically correct, but the mormon denomination is so screwed up it's not even funny. I think the mormons and jehovah's witnesses are having a contest to see who can come up with the craziest religious beliefs.

  • OMG MORMONS ARE NOT POLYGAMISTS!

  • Some of them are.

  • OMG mormons believe in "celestial plural marriage" so to say that mormons are not polygamists is really a stretch of the truth. YOU BELIEVE IN POLYGAMY IN HEAVEN for Gods sake.

how do I know? I was taught that in Seminary! I questioned it even then....

  • And.....? Currently practicing plural marriage and saying we don't believe in it are two different things. Its easy to know what what the Church teaches, it is in the scriptures. You aren't making a big revelation to the world here, just blaspheming the name of the Lord.

  • So you admit you believe in polygamy. nice.

  • No, they are not two different things because if you could, you would. It means that you DO believe in plural marriage, but the laws of your state/country do not allow it. The FLDS considers themselves to be the TRUE Mormons as they think that the mainstream LDS "sold-out" to the government. And yes, the poster WAS making a revelation to the world; most of us didn't know that you nutcases really DO believe in plural marriage. Now we know the truth. Why can't you mainstream Mormons admit it?

  • No one denies it, so there is nothing to admit to.

FLDS can say whatever they want, but the pattern was laid on what to do when God told Samuel to give ancient Israel a King.

  • Anne B. Wilde...yes, Anne B. Wilde indeed!

  • Interesting video. Read D&C 132:63 if any of you are interested in polygamy and its essentiality to exaltation. She's a very wise woman.

  • Is it not true that Joseph Smith and many oters were baptise before the church was create and later was baptise after the church was created?

  • Omg, she is falling apart at the seams!
