( see below).... In Topeka , Kansas( for you morons) .. Topeka is the Capital of Kansas! And John Stewart mentioned Jordan on his show on Comedy Central! So don't hate because Jordan's question was deemed important enough to be chosen for national tv! Jordan is a very intelligent politically aware and kind person you don't know anything about him! I know him very well... I raised him! Yes, I'm his mother and I'm very proud of him and all he has accomplished!
To all you narrow minded, uneducated idiots such as....Killerme, Prophetof...DUMB, and Kungfuyou..... Get over yourself! The question was based on what had already been mentioned in the media and that was exactly how Jordan prefaced the question. And if you think race and gender don't matter in every aspect of life, you are living in a fantasy world! Oh and by the way, not only was Jordan's question chosen by CNN, but he was interviewed by The Huffington Post, KMBC in Kansas City, WIBW Radio
Why race (or gender) is even mentioned? Do people think Obama can win by using the race card, people see through that crap these days ... That's a WEAK mans excuses for NOT making it in today's world. Obama was VERY smart buy not playing those games. For you Obama supporters that are playing the race card thinking you're helping him all I can say is THANK YOU (you're helping my side instead)!
Dont pay them too much mind jordan. Many of them are too narrow-minded and miss the main point of what you are truly trying to illustrate, that, or jealous because you got your question answered in a national presidential debate.
I go to KU and am in Washington DC for the summer doing an intership. I open up the Express paper (its the free DC publication) and your question was the headline question on the front of the paper. Your representing our Jayhawks well. ~Zac
Americans in general look at stereotypes and race as a an issue. Whether the other issues are at question, the value of the person answering that question is entirely based on race or gender a majority of the time. I don't really care if Hillary or Obama are feminine or black respectivley, but this was a very well thought out question since it hits a very major issue on how people think in this country.
This election is important on all levels, for the first time, we have a two serious minority candidates, one of whom likely will be our next president. The world is watching. We talk so much about democracy and freedom, but the world knows our all white male presidential history. I a Black woman am voting for Hillary. She is the most qualified. Her election will symbolize to the world that we indeed do practice what we preach.
Nice try "Prophetofdoom." Look at all 16 presidential candidates and tell me how many middle aged white men you see and how many black people and women you see. Correct me if I'm wrong but 2 out of 16 is the minority.
Look I'm all for criticism, but you could be nice about it at least. Rather than project your umbrage with the democratic hopefuls on my comments wall, maybe you should like to be more proactive and post your own questions or thoughts on Youtube. Just a friendly suggestion...and you get to exercise your first amendment right. At any rate, you bring up a good point. Women aren't minorities; they actually outnumber men nearly 4 to 1, but in politics and the workforce that isn't so true.
I think race and/or gender does matter. We can't look at other nations as to why it didn't matter there, just know that here, in my beloved country it does. I don't think either one are qualified to lead this nation anyway. Democratic party has more talented people than these two fake clowns.

You must be retarded to think women outnumber men 4 to 1.
Killerme 4 years ago
I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant outnumber globally. The XX combination is much more common than the XY.

BTW jayhawk09, it was really cool to see you again after all this time ever since I taught your Math class at KU.

Hah!
Well if you look at it that way then John Edwards is a 1/16 minority because he is the only one who pays 400 bucks for hair cuts.
O I see, you only consider genitals and skin color when you classify "minorities". How small minded of you.

Excellent question. And I think they are both eminently qualified to lead this country. Here's hoping to a Clinton/Obama ticket.
