that's very accurate. the omax machine at work cuts very fast but once the material is thinker than one inch it gets choppy towards the bottom and you really have to bring down the speed which eats the abrasive really fast. is this water only or water and abrasive?
@AquaCut u can cut with just water only but its take more time and finishing will be also a issue. i have got 6120 with 55000psi pump really decent toy
I've heard (dont know if its true, but it seems reasonable), that if you shot someone with a jet of water like what is being used it, it would litterally burst or obliterate the person you aimed it at. Nasty!
As a matter of fact I did. If the jet of water can cut metal then its going to have no problem piercing flesh. Once inside it stands to reason that the water is going to be deflected and dispersed. And since the jet is fast the quantity of water being pumped must be large, so isn't going to take long to fill the caverties and break cell walls.
So presumably the victim literally would be liquidised inside and then burst explosively. Either that or the stream would hold and pass through.
Water cannot "hold" the pressure for a far distance. Flamethrowers came pretty close, those shot liquid fuel up to 50 yds! But of course the fuel had no real impacting pressure, just set everything on fire. Hand-held and even mounted on a vehicle, the weapon could not be produced with current nozel and liquid mixtures.
Most likely, It would be like spraying someone with a thin jet of water with the pressure of a fire hose; you'd definitely knock them flat on their asses if you are close enough. Any closer, and baddies will become donuts.
no, a water tank would have to be on the weapon, a massive compressor and you have to stand next to the armor for a good 15 mins to make a gap a weapon can get in
is that just pure water or do they mix it with something? like graphite

@gtarbmx - this is water with abrasive of course, you cannot cut metals with water alone.

I've heard that if one of these hits your viens wrong, it can instantly pump lots of air into your bloodstream... which kills you xD

you'd need an absolutely huge water storage vessel too (in the video, the water is recycled)

It's all about water pressure.

both are right, its water at over 1,000psi carring abrassives to increase its cutting power.
baalshin 3 years ago
I think it is more like 50,000 psi with abrasive grit.
