  • Why are they showing him hit his level! Its a crime, when i was an apprentice an old guy used to clip my ear if i did it! Then i see ths clown getting away with!

  • Hey I am a bricklayer of the highest quality you need to learn how to spread properly and then lay the bricks. As described we are BRICKLAYERS not brick and level tappers.

    Linerforce

  • Amature you have a straight joint...you start with a header then stretcher and so on...look at your vid again Div. Also tapping ya level is shoddy workmanship..its the brick that out of level not ya level hahahahaha propper wank.

  • this guy knows how to knock up his mud - very smooth on the trowel. well done, bro!

  • bolton bricky says dont bother its a load of shit. lil cash for long hard days and all the big firms are run by cocks who no shit about building

  • this is oddly sensual...

  • whats the fucking point??theres no bastard work in the building trade for UK workers.

I know many tradesmen(plumbers.brikkies, plasterers)who are going out collecting scrap metal and earning FOUR times as much in a day than they did on the site.

    THE GAMES DEAD MATE!

    unless your fucking polish.

  • What've you got against an AUDIO track with your video?

Sound... words... narration... all nice things to have...

  • Hi, i'm a bricklayer from Canada and i'm interested in knowing what types of connectors are mostly used in the U.S. and the U.K. regardless of construction type. Wooden, concrete, blocks walls... thank you guys.

  • Bd8SzPQ89YE

  • i am fucked to do this job, my back is gone, money is not good, very shit job, especially during rain, alot of mess, fuck the bricklayer. i never advice to anyone to do this job, i advice go school, do any diploma, n do a job in offices with nice girls nice chicks. cheers buddy

  • @shinyjaan is not an easy job, but has some good sides. For example, an investor satisfaction.

  • @shinyjaan your so right,

  • @shinyjaan Your very wrong I have built my own home and have four others that I get a good return from not bad for being a quality bricklayer.

  • @shinyjaan There is a bit more to it than putting one brick on top of another office boy stop dreaming of shagging dogs.

  • you wont get rich laying bricks just some job satisfaction and a fuckin bad back.

  • nope hitting the level is not accepted

  • Every bricklayer I,ve met on site have been total wankers.Scaffs rule.

  • @doughnut950 Your right, but it requires much more training to go scoop, spread, lift and plonk than opposed to lift, tighten, untighten, drop. we have more bragging/ wanker rights than riggers

  • My dad has laid over 23 million bricks in his career and he is rough as guts. LOL just kidding dad love you mate..regards son.

  • @mikebrewerisamoron If I put a pile of bricks in front of you and a set of drawings could you build a house? I can tell you this there is a lot more to bricklaying than sticking one brick on top of another and one thing is for sure good mathematical skills are required far more than just the basics.

Now shove your punctuation up your arse and go and learn some mathematical formula that will help your brain function correctly. Dim Fuck!

  • thats some nice mix

  • What sort of training is that he puts the level on it and instead of tapping the bricks down he hits his level on top.

  • @joedobbs100 I tap level all the time. The keyword is tap. Do I use to pound down a brick that may have a piece of something under it.. no.

If the mud is good and you lay your level down, theres no reason you cant tap your level and use it as a straight edge. I pay $130 for a 4' level, I better be able to tap on it for petes sake.

  • @CONCRETE13 haha my masonry class has brass levels and shit i guess , so i was tapping on it nice and easy and my trowel went right through it haha so i gave it to the guy next to me and got another one

  • @thormxonly

I use cricks levels. Solid wood.

  • he has a straight joint, no good bloody idiot

  • @jakeus123 LOL OK

  • Looks fun...guess what ..! is not fun wen you doing that all day long under the sun at 90 deg..! on top of a galvanized roof top..ja

  • god im so much better.

  • nice bed

  • I wish I could trade my bricklaying for a new back.

  • Nice 1 .. You make it look so easy but its not.. Believe me i've tryed it..

  • Did that guy just hit the level, what a plonker LOL, I can't build for my life, but i know that aint professional, or safe.

  • would you like to learn a new skill in a trade that has been OVERRUN by illegal mexican immigrants????. . . .answer. . . . . NO.

  • @bighandles11 relax guy... i think this vid is for do-it-yourselfers who just need a little direction for very small projects... I'm no mason but i would like to learn how to lay a brick planter box in front of my house... this is somewhat helpful and I plan to look at other vids to help me in the process.

  • @shmacka - well put. all these haters have probably never tried anything do-it-yourself, like building a brick wall. I don't approve of ads on youtube, but this vid showed me enough info to get started on my brick repairs. I might still vote it out though, because it IS an ad.

  • Bighandles get over yourself. You've been laying brick for 8 years and you're the best ever? Please, most good bricklayers forgot more than you know. Where's your video so we can all see how great you florida hacks do it? You know, where all your booted up blockwork gets covered by stucco!

  • if you're so good at it, make a video, and post it here.

  • is the bricklaying job easy ?

  • @sacajuwea1 will, if you practice is will

that job easy to you, is like $25/hr

  • I took this in trade school for nothing because I can't find a brick job in sc.

  • @wickedmoonshine All the masonry work is in Texas my friend.

  • This is what is commonly known as the "nick on crack" method.

  • did any one notice the broken bond?

  • hah hah good one

  • must be an apprentice cause it looked like shit.

  • beat the hell out of the level and buy another

  • 1:05 a good bricklayer doesnt have to hit his level

  • 0:23 it kinda just lookslike a giant turd lmao nice vid though

  • dont hit the level!!! tap the brick with the butt of the trowel. must b council worker lol

  • DONT HIT THE SPIRIT LEVEL !!!!!!!

  • its a labourers job you ass

  • Bricklaying is a trade u fool

  • Comment removed

  • @MrRobokoper union masons make up 30 dollars and hour in scranton pa!

  • @thormxonly Its good as a starter wage, but how long till they are earning a good wage?

  • @SPYDOC1 We never earn a good wage

  • @jwestwood Ther oldest trade at that!

  • @jwestwood yes,a fucking useless one unless theres actually building work going on.

  • @jwestwood a SKILLED trade lol

  • @rabbithog FAG

  • @ratmq LABOURER

  • You mean to tell me that you TRULY believe that a Brick Mason is JUST a LABOURER?

I hope to get one build just the same

  • yerh that wall at the end does look nice

its flemish bond its real neat

the only problem is modern bricks are aload of total crap

  • Arghh hes tapping the level that is painfull to watch XD

  • mixing mortar in a concrete mixer, and of course tap the level, how do you think you get the damn brick straight on top

  • Learn to point for £27.50 including tools!

  • practice

  • My eyes are like laser beams, I don't need a level, LOL. What the fuck, don't tap the level, tap the level, but not with a fucking sledgehammer. From a Chicago bricklayer, go fuck yourself. Later

  • Don't hit the level....well where you want to it when it come to a full series of brick?

As long as you don't wait till the brick absorbed the water out of hte cement.

I do it, and everybody does, don't pound on the level like a crazy guy tought....

  • dont tap the level you div LOL

  • you guys made it look easy.

  • K i've only been bricklayin for a few years but if the guy in the video is suppose to be a bricky why is he doing stack bonding in the first part of the video. If ya did that at work u wouldn't have a job.

  • don't hit the level!!!

  • I like that soldier/stretcher pattern in the middle at the end of the vid

  • i hate layin posts but im a stone mason, dont lay much brick but do you really need to take classes to do that shit

  • what do you mean that shit? Ive grown up Bricklaying and im a 3rg generation bricklayer and pointer. Classes are shit and only teach bad habbits, i will say that. But to say it is shit or to suggest it is easy is a bad way to think. The guy in the vid is a crap bricky. But if you get a proper skilled bricky who is fast as well as neat(very rare) then that is no easy thing to do! But fare play on the stone masonry! I love doing stone work.

  • lol calm down i wasn sayin nothin bad about it just sayin it would be better to learn while layin im a 3rd gen. stoner just sayin i didn take classes to lay stone

  • glove boy

  • no thanks my id rather keep my steady reliable income as a toilet cleaner xDDD

  • i use my level as a saw after i`ve beaten it senseless with the cutting edge of my trowel. fuck bricklaying it`s all bollox. no pay when it rains, nothing if its 3 degrees or below, no sick pay, no holiday pay, bad back, sites full of poorly trained rubbish calling themselves brickies, shit money, no redundancy, no work. i could go on but its depressing really. get out and stay out.

  • weakling

  • you aint been doing it long then.

  • 31 years. up to you if thats not long.

  • 31 years? what were you doing at newark college this year then mate? why are you telling everybody you are 27 years old on your profile then tell us you`ve been laying bricks for 31 years? fantasy!

  • my son is at college doing brikwork, he often comes with me on jobs, that is my son in the videos, this is his account.

  • lol shit money what are you getting payed

  • i dont hit my level i look after my gear.....how bout the guys who wack the level with the edge of their trowel, jeeeezzus their not a very bright star now are they

  • i dont use a level as a rule

  • if in doubt give it a clout

  • OMG!! You guys are still arguing about tapping a level or not!!?? Holy Fekkers! Get back to work!!

  • the bond is not right take in down start again!!!!!!

  • wow u brick laying people are pretty serious eh

  • @luckystrike5201 and its hard work too , love to see you try

  • @luckystrike5201 ye coz we get alot of money so it is serious

  • @luckystrike5201 ye coz we get paid alot of money laying bricks so it is serious

  • are you a brick layer. Ive been learning plumbing for a year dont like it and find it quite complicated at times......is bricklaying hard to learn?

  • a level is to check your work not fix your work

  • with regards to all the bickering... in my opinion, tapping the level is fine. its the damn standard. if you need to hit it hard, just hit the brick, then check it with the level for some fine tuning.

  • yup yup =)

  • when i was at tafe if anyone hit a level with there trowel we would be sent home..noow im qualafied i smash the fuck outta my stabillas~!

  • hahahaha thats funny....

  • i found this funny cos its the typical attitude in the building trade, i'm laughing at him not with him, can someone add a thumbs up cos the red thumbs down is hurting my feelings!

  • I find a bucket works best; if you don't mind some of the retarded comments from some of the morons you have to work with.

  • Nevermind picking the friggin' vid apart... Assholes! It was giving a demostration to a trade. It wasn't showinig you the "correct" way to lay bricks, perfectly. Jeesh! The friggin' level is about $14!! Who gives a rat's fat ass how it is tapped!!.. You assholes should stop with the diaria-at-the-mouth and make a vid of how YOU lay bricks and post it on YouTube. Give the guys some credit for posting a vid which may encourage some lazy-ass welfare case to learn a trade and get a job!.. Dumbass..

  • that was about an $80 stabila level.

  • If it is an $80 level, then I applaud him for treating it like any other level. The work looks nice, so tap away. Tap away! The real issue is the video. Hopefully encouraging someone to get off their ass and get a job or change their career. $80 level!? I wouldn't use that in bricklaying! If so, I must be making enough money not to give a rat's ass about taping on it. I would have more concern with getting mortar all over it..

  • all your good masons use quality levels.. at least a good 4 foot. the 2 foot can be a little cheaper. but the reason they buy the expensive levels is because they stay accurate under intense stress for a very long time. so you can keep buying cheapies, or get yourself a good stabila, crick, johnson, or american. stabila is my personal favorite.

  • TAPING a level is ok not HITING it just dont hit it where the fucking vials are come on guys use our saveys it made out of fucking metal.

    Mac

  • course yer gonnae tap the level at sum point if u hav a gd quility one thn tapping it shoont be a problem unless u need tae hammer it down thn u shood try another trade

  • i`ve been laying brix for over 30 years and i always hit my level. so what? a new one is only £15 from my local market and i`ll hit that one as well.

  • hahahah, you'll keep them in business!

  • one golden rule never bang you level with your trowel : ) been laying since 75 and Ive killed many many MANY levels some thrown :)some did hit whom I was aiming at, but unfortunately i did not use the hammer on one particular building inspectors, mind you the plumber got him , have a nice day, :-)

  • im doin bricklayin im in f.c.a foundation construction award goin on 2 i.c.a next year gna do i.c.a then find an aprentiship .. anyway if any1 got any tips for me plz drop me a message

  • calm down boys , it's obvious you're all still learning , yes in theory you shouldnt hit your level but you'll find yourselves doing it in the real world!

  • Wow... this retard's craftmanship is pretty good.

"If my wall isn't level, just bash the level flat!"

  • Wow... this retard's craftmanship is pretty good.

"If my wall isn't, just bash the level flat!"

  • so much for learning new skill when you cant even get the basics right.. stop hitting the level!

  • how can you learn a trade in 5 days?

    it should be 5 years

  • very correct, i have been doing bricklaying for 2 years as an apprentice in a college. i am going on site for the first time on monday. and it will take me another 6 or so months to get my NVQ2. so....yeah. 3, or even 4 years if your a bit slow lol :)

  • Well said!

  • Good one!

  • Is learning to be a bricklayer worth it?

  • definately not! do your homework and get a good paying fulfilling job kiddies...

  • dumbass , I graduated High School only and been laying brick for 11 years at 24 dollars an hour.If your good at it , you can make good money, retard.

  • The Bricklayer's Union in America that is.

  • That is a bad way to spread mud for bricks. You need to furrow it down the middle, not spread it like icing on a cake. Go join the Bricklayers Union and learn how to do the job right.
