Comparing a Sea Ray to a Bayliner (even though Brunswick owns them both) is mor like comparing a Roles Royce to a Yugo. My 1991 Sea Ray 180 BR is 10 times any other boat it's size. I kept it 16 years and sold it for 1/2 what I paid for it. try that with a Bayliner!
@bobdowd what do you mean by that? are bayliners harder to sell? are they worse than a sea ray? me and my family are currently looking for a boat and we're extremely interested in a Bayliner or a Sea Ray Sundancer. we're not looking at these kind of sizes though, we're looking at around 27-30 foot
Just like any other "boat review", it's like watching a damned sales video. Not a single negative comment about the "cheapness". Never a word about anything that would make you think twice about laying out this much money for a Brunswick Bayliner.....It's made of "wood"....not "teak" or "mahogany" but "wood! Pine is wood. Balsa is wood. Oak is wood. WHAT WOOD?!
Ok... 1st comparing a Bayliner to Sea Ray is like comparing Chrysler to Cadillac. 2nd The wood in this boat is REAL WOOD not covered with a thin layer of finished wood. As for your dealer comment c'mon, its a 2009 brand new boat! its a freaking dream. As you can tell the lighting was kinda bad, thats negative. Obviously you have issues being so audacious and rude commenting about a boat video. Completely Useless??? You sir sound like a BANKER or worse a LAWYER!
Can you even afford to be aboard a searay? I have friends with Rinkers, one with a chaparral, and I have a formula 34 pc. Sea ray is easily as nice as formula and thats saying something. And it is real wood. I've seen it.
There are no cheap, good boats. That's what's wrong with SeaRay. Brunswick makes cheap boats by cutting corners and using "advanced technology" instead of FIBERGLASS.
An old Grand Banks someone has taken care of is a thing of beauty and well worth the prices. You don't need a NEW boat. My friend Geoffrey sails a 1981 Amel Sharki 41 ketch. Quality like that never goes bad. She's beautiful! HAND made.
These boats are made to travel the oceans. A boat that size is not that uncommon on Lewisville. Someday she might see the open seas! Thanks for your comment.
Sorry, all that info is available on the web and from your salesman. We understand the need to have that info but BoatTest already does a pretty good job of being the Ad campaign and brochure for the manufactures. Our videos are designed to introduce the vessel and boating to you. I personally drove this boat, it is like no other boat I have driven. There is not a performance number that will do it any justice. Go drive the boat! Thanks for the criticism!
Just saw it in person last week at the Toronto Boat Show. Sea Ray has really gone above and beyond with this new model. The styling was making the 52 Sundancer next to it look a little dated.
The reference to this boat as the 43 foot Sundancer is wrong, the boat is actually 47 feet in length, but it's called a Sundancer 43. Other than that, it was an okay review, interior shots could have been better.
I thought it was a decent review, nice to see this boat from many angles on video...but, I was shocked to see that the cameraman was allowed to film from the bow while underway. This is extremely unsafe.
Agreed, better analogy!

@w4csc I have to agree with you, this "review" is nothing more than a sales video.

Our boat is a French Amel ketch, but what does that have to do with this video promo for Sea Rayliner?

O I thought sea rays were good quality thanks for ur opinion.
But anyway whats a good manufacturer for boats similar to this.
Also whats a good trawler under 40 feet? Im starting to like those.
But not a brand like grand banks i like those but they are to expensive.
I just thought sea rays were good quality but maybe not so which manufacturers are of good quality

Wow, that was a long time ago...(c;]
Your keywords are "to(o?) expensive".

Interesting review. Cool you took the time to make this. What's up with the jerky framerate by the way, that's annoying

Lake Lewisville? Why the heck would anyone need a boat that big on that lake?!?!
Oh yeah, GPS. chart plotter and radar?!?! Thank God! I was afraid someone might get lost on the lake!!
