  • Obvious troll, but I'll give you a 7/10 cause there are some idiots in this comment thread that took you seriously.

  • I was talking about when the game first came out .that was a very long time ago. Relax

  • To be fair, I agree with LakituEX on some of the cheapness of TMNT2, but the game wasn't a beat-'em-up in the same vein as the Double Dragon and Final Fight games. You couldn't just walk up to an enemy and merely beat the shit of them; you had to use strategy or else they'd kill you quickly. And like Luigi84289 said, mastering the "jump + attack" move makes TMNT2 significantly easier. If anything, I thought TMNT2 was more balanced than its NES prequel and arcade counterpart.

  • I love how everyone bitches about the difficulty of the first NES Turtles game (though you're the only one I've seen who whines about the second one), when the main problem with games nowadays (Turtles or otherwise) is all the damned hand-holding. Games are way too easy, and I cherish games with some freaking challenge. TMNT NES wasn't poorly crafted; it was just mercilessly hard. Kinda like Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels. I doubt anyone would say that's a broken game. It's just difficult.

  • its not because the game is bad you are a terrible player

  • The first game for nes came out after the arcade game. I wanted to throw it in the garbage. The game wasn't good and the graphics were nowhere near the arcade. Now you can download the arcade game on Wii

  • @res340 What do you expect??!! The same graphics as the arcade??? Okay wake up. It's 8 bits!!!!!!! Talk about unrealistic expectations!

  • worst AVGN ripoff ever?

  • but but but this game is one of the easiest beat'em ups ever made.... WTF dude.

  • i love tmnt1 so speak for urself ppl do like these games u just suck so u blame game

  • tmnt1 tmnt2 tmnt3 tmnt4 are all easy and fun

  • So are we to assume you were jacking off while playing? That's really the only reason you could do this bad.

  • I have beaten this game in 30 minutes since the summer of 1991. It's easy as shit once you master timing the jump kick and use the a+b combo move for all the soldiers. This is literally one of the easiest games on the nes especially with the 3 continues.

  • What kind of fucking retard hates TMNT2?

  • LakituEX is official you father fucks you in the ass

  • TMNT 1 was impossible compared to 2. This was the first game I ever beat as a lad. That means it was easy.

  • @YouGotsTheRabies Yes I beat this game right around the time I beat mario 3 for the first time. The nes has the toughest game library of any console. TMNT 2 may appear hard to people used to games just letting them win but it is very easy compared to 99% of the giant hits like Ninja Gaiden, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Legend of Zelda, Adventure of Link, Shinobi just to name a few.

  • If you think TMNT1 is better than TMNT II you are a friggin idiot

  • You suck balls. This game is a classic. You should just stay away from any kind of beat-em up game, because they're all like this. And use your jump attack to kill Rocksteady. I could beat him when I was 7. Also, you got hit once by the snow balls. So, who cares?

  • you jump kick the bosses then jump away. you really suck

  • idiot...

  • First problem - get over it

Pizza - the Pizza isn't necessary

Rocksteady and The Rock soldier: I agree, i had to get a turbo controler just to beat them

Snow level - That's just the video game business for you. I mean when the street fighter/mortal kombat series went to home versions in the 90's, they added stuff the arcade didn't.

Stuck w/the same turtle - again I agree. They also could've made this 4 player, hey the NES satallite was around the same time this came out.

  • Esse foi o game da minha vida e terminei tranquilo ,depende da habilidade do player,e aquela de ficar batendo no boss parado ali na frente é coisa de noob véio,tem que usar a voadora.

  • The reasons you gave were weak and it pretty obvious you're just trying to copy the whole AVGN thing, however I agree with you, this is my least favorite TMNT game on NES.

Its Boring and repetitive, you move too slow, most enemy attacks knock you across the screen, you only have 3 types of attack THE WHOLE GAME, you can't chain attacks, enemies recover way too fast (faster than you even), you kill every boss the same way (jump kick), and Shredder is BROKENLY difficult. I'll take TMNT 1 any day

  • i clicked on this video just to dislike it, i imagine everyone else did the same :) also... HOW CAN THERE BE 54 LIKES!!

  • First problem - no big deal, get over it

Pizza - Level 1 really isn't that hard, the Pizza isn't necessary

Rocksteady - He's not hard, just jump kick him and jump kick away, rinse, repeat

Granitor - Need to do more jump kicks and special attacks

If you want video proof I'd be glad to show you how to beat him.

Snow level - Oh come on, even YOU'RE not taking that many hits from the falling ice balls

Stuck w/the same turtle - You might notice all the turtles in this game play exactly the same.

  • Hi...have you played video games before bro?

  • I love the first one. This one is OK.

  • you seem mad bro.

  • Balancing wasn't developed in the 80s.... it was a innovative special feature

  • i think the game's pretty hard too, at least when you play solo. just get a buddy to help

  • Do you want some more cheese with your whine? I beat this game several times when I had the NES.

  • You sound like a frustrated Mexican.

  • I'm sorry, I don't usually leave these kinds of comments but, this is pretty sad. I played this game when I was like 7 years old and had no trouble beating it. It's obvious from the video that you did not exercise any strategy while fighting bosses, because you expected to beat them by standing RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM and hacking away. The stage hazards are easily avoidable and it doesn't take a Game Genie to beat the game.

    lrn2game

  • this was the best game on nes with ninja turtle 3...I had fun killing the final boss when i was like 7. Its not the game that suck its you lol!

  • i was just 3 when i finished the game 8 times

  • i think you forgot what effort means

  • Haha, watching you play is fucking painful. I beat this game when I was just a little kid, including alot of other people apparently. And who says you're entitled to a pizza on the first level? Who ever said there has to be pizza in the first level because there are pizzas in other ones? You fucking SUCK

  • I beat the shit out of this game when I was 5!

  • It seems your problem stems from your lack of actual skill.

See folks this is the problem with games getting way to easy, any dipstick with an internet connection and no moral quandires about getting a rom thinks hes king shit of the gamers.

perhaps dark souls will bring back the age before rythem games and fitness games, sports games, cooking sims all that shit, to when gamers actually played games for reasons beyond "its popular", im looking at you COD fans

  • This guy is 24. The game was released in 1990. This guy was prbly born in 1987 so I'm sure his first console was a SNES or late Genesis. He probably only played this on a rom and doesn't know that when this game was released it was a KICKASS game with great graphics, revolutionary gameplay, etc... Yes it was hard but why do you complain? I mean, THOUSANDS of games were actually harder than this back when this was released. You can play your roms but spare us of your unworthy comments... Jesus!!!

  • @MyHeadAsplodes Idk. I'm 25 and I had this game.

I beat it pretty thoroughly when I was 5-7. I remember getting to the last level without a continue. I don't remember much after that. Back when games were nigh impossible, kids played them forever until they were video game heroes. Then, they could beat anything.

  • Comment removed

  • Total suckage! And I mean you, not game. The game IS (yes, even compared to nowadays Turtles games) a nearly perfect TMNT game.

  • Lol you just made my day. It almost looked like you were actually trying to fail horribly. You just suck at this game.

Who else wants to see this person play Ninja Gaiden 1 on the NES? XD

  • HAHAHA Seriously? This game was great!! You just sucked at this game, man....

  • Dude learn to improvise and overcome, that way you will beat old games. Old games were challenging and fun, today`s are easy. Too easy!

  • @deadfishy666 lol, did you see him standing there attacking the bosses and complaining about how he was getting his ass kicked??

  • @BVDV63 Yeah I did saw it.

  • Obviously you've never played the previous nes turtles title or tournament fighter

  • coz you suck.

  • I beat the shit out of this game when I was like 8 so stop complaining.

  • I'm glad you picked the colors for your font the way you did so nobody could READ your lame arguments and refute them.

  • Looks like you're deliberately getting hit so you'll have something to gripe about.

  • I didn't find it to be that bad. I agree about not being able to change turtles throughout the game. That part is lame.

  • this game is pretty easy maybe you just suck at it?

  • I think yer just bad at the game. I didn't find it all that challenging.

  • This game is actually really easy for the first 4 levels. You can beat most bosses using the jump kick attack over and over, including the blue rock dude.

  • i had fun with this game and so did so many other people. your a troll! i bet your favorite game ever is E.T. on the atari 2600! i beat this game no problem cuase i didn't just stand there and get hit! and really? using a game genie to get threw this? i can understand battletoads but this??? wow. just another noob who can't get over himself.

  • @Superstarluigi83 Hey I am with you there so this noob hates old video games I belive this game lots of fun.

  • @Wolfman9999 hell yeah, I like this game as much as the arcade version

  • @hdofu Damn right man I don't understand noob hates old video games make me sad. I remember days play these old games lots of fun back then.

  • hey hye...the first pizza appears in the second level in nes and the arcade. And the first boss is difficult also in the arcade. I think you are a pussy :S...you want easy games...shamed of you. It doesn´t make it a bad game..It was one of the most great games...Arcande and nes. So please be objetive

  • There is a simple reason why you say you hate this game. For one thing, you suck at this game and can't admit it, you just can't go through the game and just expect to be whacking enemies and getting through the stage easily. You gotta use common sense like for the wrecking balls you can simply jump kick over them without a problem. Same thing with Rocksteady. You just jump kick him repeatedly. For the ice stage you can simply run through the stage without getting hit and make it to the foot so

  • first, I agree with Frost535 on EVERYTHING, & REALLY is this game THAT BAD?!?!

  • @LakituEX Q_Q more.

  • hahahaha loser!!!

  • I thought this game was super easy.

  • When you fight the bosses, YOUR SUPPOSE TO MOVE! DON'T JUST STAND THERE!

  • The only thing that really annoyed me the most about this game was that every time you hit an enemy they automatically would hit you back unless you didn't evade quickly. That really slows things down a bit in the game. I think with the third NES game that problem was resolved.

  • Despite what obstacles the game threw at me being 7 years old at the time I still went hardcore on this game and it made beating it all the more sweeter. Call the game crap all you like if you didn't beat it what does that make you...

  • For some reason this got me thinking of the Duck Tales game. That was a fun game.

  • TMNT2 is easy for me. It's an okay game but I will also say I was highly disappointed. No four player, no difference of turtles, same old, same old gameplay and no Rocksteady & Bebop battle at the same time in parking lot. Baxter the fly was a ripoff replacement. I also do not care for the new levels. I also enjoyed the challenge of Baxter and the skateboard level in arcade. Roadkill Rodneys are more difficult too. TMNT2, those factors are just too easy.

  • u mad, bro?

  • You have the skill of a brick.

  • YOu didn't said the worst part-... the time after every hit to an enemy

IN the arcade game aswell the 3rd game You can hit enemies right after the last hit. But in this one, you must wait after every attack. For a beat em up that makes the game pretty slow. I hate this version just because of that not all the things you said.

  • wow ..... TMNT 2 was alot easier than the first one. I beat this one the first time i rented it from blockbuster (yeah that's how old I am LOL)

  • i don't know what makes it harder to believe this, that someone actually found the FIRST LEVEL difficult or that someone was stupid enough to make such a lame video about it. you're crying like a baby over nothing, i have NO idea why you never privatized this terrible video.

  • Lakicrap shut up this port on the nes is waaayy better than the arcade my ratings of this video CRAP =D

  • FACT: Fans give shitty reviews to games they suck at

FACT: I beat this game from start to finish and it rocked

  • the only cunt is the one making this video..you clearly just suck. ''let me stand in front of the boss and not try to move or dodge.'' good plan, tard.

  • U suck... play like an idiot...

  • ooh and btw good graphics dont make a good game

  • man please. SMH

TMNT 2 ON NES WAS THE BEST

  • Because of gamers like you, easy games like Bayonetta are considered "hard" by the press. Good games were hard enough to test the players. And I was 6 when i beat this game. SIX!

  • Dude, I beat this game when I was 6! Even with that age, I knew I shouldn't stand in front of a boss like an idiot. And the 1st boss is VERY easy. It's a pity that there are a lot of gamers like you nowadays. Because of that, easy games like Bayonetta or Ninja Gaiden are labeled as "very difficult" when they are on par with NES games' difficulty.

  • A game everyone hates? This was and is a very popular and well liked game.

  • Haters gonna hate.(I'm talking about all you guys).

  • Did you want to be deemed an idiot? The giant balls on the first stage, which harm you and not the foot soldiers ARE in the arcade version!

  • God, you suck. Sorry but theres no other explaination other then you suck.

  • Someone obviously sucks at this game...lol! I can beat this game so easily. All you have to do is jump kick every single boss in the game. It just shows how easy games have become and kids now these days don't know how to play the classics correctly.

  • this sucks

  • I cleared this game when i was a kid...

but then again i knew how to walk up and down...

and not just take all the blows like a bitch. XD

Try ur not suposed to just stand there and hit them...

THAT would have been a crappy game.

Easier than a 18 year old on prom night.....

  • long and grueling? my god, if you can't beat this game then you sir are lower than 4 year olds (cause thats when I played and beat this game)

  • I bought this game brand new back in 1990. Sounds like you just picked it up for the first time. I bet this game is older than you.

  • You must be the Irate gamer! haha

Even a 10 year old kid could finish this game (ask me) and you can't!?

If you couldn't beat any KONAMI games, which are known for their obvious Boss Patterns, then you really are not even decent at video games. :D

  • this was my fav game for a long time. don't hate on tmnt.

  • crai moar n00b

  • why dont u just realize you suck at games... quit... than never write bad reviews about games you suck at cause clearly you have no idea what your talking about let alone how to play any of the tmnt games without getting smashed by everyone

  • OMG Someone call the WHAAAAAAAMBULANCE!

  • Are being serious? I just jump kick all the bosses, never had a problem with any of them. If you stand in front of an enemy and slash at him, you expect the enemy not to retaliate?

  • Rocksteady is simple dude. jump kick him then power move same thing with the blue guy.

  • First of all, the arcade game did have balls falling down the stairs in Level 1. Second, the A+B combo is easy and kills most enemies in one swipe. Finally, the bosses can easily be beaten by jump kicking. It takes a while but keeps you mostly out of harm's way. I'm not sure which game rewards players who simply stand right in front of an enemy and mashing the fire button without trying to dodge the enemy's attacks, but I bet you are AWESOME at that one. This game isn't hard.

  • @barlitone Add to the fact that the power move can be spammed without causing damage to your health unlike Hyperstone Heist/Turtles in Time.

  • I beat this game like 20 times when I was a kid, I picked it up again a few weeks ago and beat it on the first try... it's an awesome game and it's not hard, you just suck at it.

  • I beat this game yesterday. It's not that fucking hard, dude.

  • you suck!

  • Seriously dude, you just suck and are impatient. I found out when I was 6 and got this for Christmas, that all you have to do to beat most bosses is jump and kick. It may take a while, but it's not hard. Also, I'd like to mention receiving this game made me doubt Santa, as it said made in Japan on the back. Mom and dad didn't have a good enough excuse.

  • I love this game and i have beat it a few times, actually just played it and beat it a moment ago (thank you nes emulator) You just suck, my advice is to you is stop playing the games and get your butt in gear and make your own. Pussy!

  • PS - I Googled this for you, AAEAULPA Infinite lives. Seeings that all you can do is bitch, try shutting the fuck up and try a Game Genie, look it up.

  • maybe you dont like it probally you suck at it ps your the pussy not him and you cant chop your cock off because you dont have one

  • uploader sucks at video games. this game was awesome for its time

  • i'd like to see you do better, twat

  • Jesus, suffering through the text in this video is surely worse than suffering through the minor annoyances of the game.

  • @JohnnyJohnnyJohnny

Agreed. White texts on black boxes works 100 times better than rainbow coloured texts badly compressed in front of multi-colour backdrop.

Thumbs down for bad video editing skills.

  • I beat this game on NES when I was like...9. Soon 20 years ago. Games back then required more skill.

  • I've beaten all three TMNT on the NES. The first is way harder than this one. Use your jump+kick attack and your A+B attack regularly. This isn't like the games now. NES had some extremely tough games that you have to play for hours to figure out shit.

  • this is the nes era of games, dude. you had to adapt and learn, to out smart and out wit the games. games back then you had to sit and think, even lay in bed at night brain storming ways of beating a level or defeating a boss...

  • It's not the game fault you die, it's your own. Stop bitching and get better skills!

  • Assload of shit?? Someone's been watching too much AVGN.

  • Proof-read before you upload a video, dude. "I'd like to someone beat him with no cheats or gamegenie"

  • Yep, definitely a noob. Also, the key to beating most of the bosses is to jump-kick them in the shins. You still get knocked back, but you do kick more ass that way. Plus, as everyone is saying, 1) Press A+B; 2) ?????; 3) Profit! Go back to playing your Halo and COD while we recognize and play some good games.

  • 1.) It's a video game. Plus: they're robots — they have radical dodging skills, dude.

2.) If they had Pizza EVERYWHERE, there would be no challenge.

3.) You sound as though you were raised on the games of today, where they hold your hand and walk you through about the first half of it. You have probably never heard of the phrase, "Nintendo-hard".

4.) That's Lieutenant Granitor. He's made out of SOLID ROCK — of COURSE you have to hit him a billion-and-one times to turn him to rubble.

  • Not to mention the fact that you just stand there and take his abuse. Learn some strategy! In the old days, you COULDN'T just stand in one spot and wail on a boss without getting hit. Move around a bit — vary your attacks!

5.) The boulders of ice are EASY to avoid — they have a shadow that shows up a half-second before they hit; jump-kick out of their way.

6.) I'd bring up strategy again, but in the NES version it was more about choosing your favorite Turtle instead.

  • Also, as others have said, there is the A+B attack — I guess that most people wouldn't know about without the manual, though, so I can SORTA forgive you for that one.

All I can say to you is: either fight THROUGH your frustrations and actually get better at the game (research tips and strategies on the 'net), or find someone to play it WITH. It's more fun with someone, anyway. :)

Also, @TheRealMXR5150: the KONAMI code doesn't work on this game; it's a different code for this one. :p

  • you suck you suck you suck.

    TMNT rulez

  • This game rules !!

Saying that this game sucks is an insult to the NES in general !!

  • You suck ass and should forever quit. Also, the Angry Video fag sucks too

  • You suck

    Game rocks

  • There is only one problem I agree with in this game that you mentioned: The lack of alternating turtles.

That's it. I GREW UP with this game. It's NOT bad. And yeah, if you just attack with A + B, you will SMITE everything. EVERYTHING.

  • This guy sucks at this game. That's the only problem.

  • troll vid is troll

  • I beat this without the code or continuing, still had a life, played sports and got girls. I'm just saying.

  • @ LakituEX

    1. This is a CO - OP game. You can play it by yourself which, of course makes it harder.

    2. This game was epic. I can beat this game even now on one continue if need be.

    3. You probably DO suck at this game. So don't put down on it just because you do. Try harder. Game's got damn good music too.

  • The foot soldiers not getting hit with the giant ball doesn't happen all the time, they usually get hit whenever I used to play. The first level was not that "long and grueling." Yes Rocksteady is hard for a first boss if you only play games that hold your hand. The robot boss you have to beat for Splinter is supposed to be much harder than the previous ones, it's a robot. It's not hard to avoid the falling ice balls. Also, some of your text is impossible to read, the icing on your fail cake.

  • Woah. Somebody's no good at games. Or having fun.

  • noob

  • Ummm......Someone needs to learn how to MOVE THE FUCK OUTTA THE WAY AND STOP LETTING BOSSES PUMMEL HIM! You can't just walk up to them and start swinging. Of course they're going to knock the shit outta you. This game is difficult but not impossible to conquer with a lil know how. Maybe you should just stick to Tetris or Dr. Mario and leave the real games to the real gamers.

  • 1) Of course the enemies are aware of their OWN traps.

    2) Like BASEJOCK said, you don't need those pizza slices on the first level.

    3) To be honest, I have met easier first level bosses than this, but even I can do it without losing more than one life.

    4) Even Super Mario Bros.' bosses are becoming more difficult!

    5)AVGN, AVGN.

  • LOL There are tons of games were enemies are immune to hazards, 2nd you shouldn't need a health pickup on the FIRST level, 3rd Rocksteady is a pushover, 4th it's called making the bosses harder as you advance hence the boss's strong resistance, man you couldn't have been serious when you made this video...if you were video games aren't for you.

  • mmmm. love this game.

  • Well, this kid watches WAAAAAY too much AVGN. I watch AVGN as much as the next guy, but he watches it way too much, I can tell. And if you remove this, you are a pussy blocker.

  • @Bittergamer1886

no he watches too much Irate gamer,he actually agrees with the irate gamer's review of this game, and he also agrees with the irate gamer's review of zombies ate my neighbors, its seems like he hates games that have a strict challenging learning curve, because he sucks a them.

  • @TrYED84 I never said it was a bad game. I just think that the combat isn't very good.

  • i beat this when i was like 9 or 10, dont remember. It was a little hard, but preety awesome. Stop being a pussy dude

  • Complaining because a game is too difficult for you? If the game is bad as you think it is, then why play it at all? A good and somewhat difficult old game is way better than most of these crappy new games they come out with these days. And if you hadn't noticed...bosses don't stagger in these old games like this one. So of course you shouldn't just STAND there spamming one button. Common sense will tell you to use the "hit & run" strategy......

  • I've beaten this game a hundred times but I agree it's not very easy. You made a good point about the rolling balls in the first level.

  • This game was pretty easy, actually. Rocksteady can be defeated fairly easily by spamming the jump kick or the stronger A+B button attack.

My brother and I beat this game several times when we were kids (which it was first released).

  • U are not supposed to just stand still and hit the bosses by buttonsmashing. Not wonder u got ur ass kicked. This is one of my all time favourite games and at the time it had insanely awesome graphics. How is it possible to hate this game?

  • I beat this game when I was a kid. Try battletoad please.

  • NES games separates the boys from the men.

TMNT just proves this yet again.

MegMan on NES was the same.

But fear not, Megaman on 9 is still a great game even though it has noob save function.

  • I'll be honest with you here. This game was easy as shit. You just fucking suck at it.

  • Well, the first level doesn't really NEED a health item, you should be able to beat it easily, if you don't, I question your skill at beatemups. :/

  • i beat this game as a child and this guy is struggling with the first level lol.

  • "Unlike most first bosses, Rocksteady will kick your ass." LOLOL

  • #1 - Bosses requires strategy other than standing completely stationary and mashing your weakest attack

#2 - Your atrocious attempt at video editing hurts my eyes. Use a normal font colour so it's actually possible to read your moronic comments.

#3 - Obstacles ignoring enemy NPC's is nothing new, get over it.

#4 - Games are supposed to become more difficult as you progress, otherwise what would be the point?

  • @Frost535 Dude calm down, he's just sharing his opinion just as you are now.

  • NES games were some of the most challenging games around. Some still are. You have some games on PS3 or Xbox that take more time to beat on the NES then on the newer systems. They might not be long on the NES, but it takes several times to get it right. I agree things may not be fair on this game, but that was the idea at the time. A challenge. A challenge on games we might never see again. When they were close to impossible to conquer. Like the first NES and Silver Surfer.

  • Dude, I was like 9 years old and I could go to the winter level pretty easily. and, yes the game was hard, it,s the reason why you could be proud beating this game. When you don't have talent in a game, don't say it suck, just shut the fuck up !

  • @Sylverweed So true. Now the noobs have achievements in games so they can prove how worthless they are for the rest of the world that they beat that Crap of Duty Modern Warfailure.

  • @ecchibanzaii Just let them try an old classic game, like the one you need to beat in one time, no save. If they can beat it, they can be proud. Contra 3 on snes could be a good start. ;)

  • @Sylverweed Ack, I never was a fan of Contra since I never had it when I was young. :(

But a friend of mine likes it.

    Shotgun spreads FTW.

  • LOL you just suck ass at this game. why would you stand right in front of the boss and button mash? did you really think that would work?

  • You just didn't get it. This game was awesome and difficult. You just aren't the type of person who gets it. The game was supposed to be hard and a little different so if you pounded all your quarters into the arcade version and beat it, you got something a little different when your mom finally caved and bought this for you.

  • Heh.

The arcade version is a million times harder than the NES port. Hell, TMNT III is harder than TMNT 2.

Oh, and the flying kick is your best friend against the bosses. Just saying.

  • great game you just suck balls homo

  • LOL noob vid....

  • all the tmnt games were hard but thats what made them good! i love tmnt games. now i feel insalted. :(

  • Sounds like someone needs to take his head out of his anus.

  • I beat this game when it was new before the internet at the age of 7. . .

  • the 3rd one is a lot better this one really is bad not shit but its bad and the 1st one is bad too the 3rd and the 4th are the best ones and a + b is't combo atack its special attack :D
