Awesome! And I second AnotherGirl2's questions... how long did this actually take you? What program is this? How do you capture the live painting into a film?? LOL
It took about 10 hours, in photoshop, and I used a free application called aviscreen classic to do the capturing. I used adobe Premiere to speed up the video and add music.
That is realy beautiful! How long did it actualy take you to do it? What program is this? And how do you capture the live painting into a film? Any way - its awesome! :)
Yeah, it works with any monitor, although if your monitor is widescreen then you'll have to calebrate it differently. (if your hand makes a circle motion you don't want to computer to think that it's an oval). The main thing that the table gives you is pressure sensitivity and pen tilt. It's also much more natural to be able to use your wrist and fingers while you draw.
Sure, they're pretty good. They don't have angle sensitivity, but that's not going to be a problem until you get advanced enough to design your own brushes, and even then it won't matter 90% of the time. It'll sure get you a lot further than a mouse , and if that's what you can afford than that sounds like the one for you.
haha ya you defenetly cant draw like this without a tablet the mouse cant make the same "textures" as a tablet can. and about the tablet your using iv been looking into geting the same thing but im just fine using my graphire(sp) i thought it was going to be hard to draw with at first but really and truly you will get use to looking up and down you wont even be able to tell the differance after a few months.
I just looked up the tablet you have - WOW that's expensive!! Do you find that you do nicer work with that, being able to draw directly on the screen, as opposed to having a regular tablet?
Yeah, I love it, but I used an intuos for a long time it it got the job done. I do find the cintiq to be more like drawing on paper because people are used to drawing where they are looking. I figured if I used a cintiq I could merge the 2 skill sets into one.
Very cool.. yeah I'm a decent artist myself, but I've been trying to draw complicated pictures with my mouse, and the lines just look unrealistic. I can't seem to make accurate curves and such either... I'm using Paint Shop Pro 10, and the pix I'm making just aren't coming out realistic - I guess I need to figure out how to use PSP efficiently!
I'm going to start doing some free workshops at my old school. If you're in the bay area you can check them out :). I'm also going to make some tutorials in a few weeks.
Brilliant, truly brilliant. One tiny critisism, the forest at the bottom right of the image, seems too parralel and doesn't seem to have much detail to it, maybe if in future images you do, you do the closer background in abit more detail, but apart from that, it was brilliant. :D
The expression on the giants face is great also looks like it would fit in well with a childrens book or tv program. The story behind it is brilliant.
Uhh... and "WMG" again! Anyway great job. :)

curious about something...why did you draw a french flag? are you french? good job! :)
socialoutcast1982 4 years ago
I'm not French, but the setting seemed European, and with all the "freedom fry" garbage I figured the French disserved a shout out.
