@all ... Come on guys, he has no shadow cause the background is not real. His been digitally put in that environment and obviously didn't have any extra cash left for adding shadows lol
@slickjaia hay I was going to say that , it's odd when you see the reflections on the floor but he's not their also, maybe a non reflective floor would pull it off better :-)
can anybody tell me why 24fps bluray movies have a slower audio pitch than normal dvd movies. I watched the bluray american werewolf in london and it had a slowed audio pitch and sounded like a record player that had been slowed down. Surely this cannot be good as i am hearing a movie with a slowed audio pitch. does this annoy anybody else.
@210482fmj My guess is you are watching your movies on a European PAL based system. Most movies when put on video in England or Europe, are sped up from 24fps, to 25fps to match the frame rate of PAL TV. The reason An American Werewolf in London sounds slower, is because you are hearing it at the correct speed for the first time.
24 and 30 fps all look like crap by todays standards. BluRay is 59.94 frames per second and looks much more fluid and real. The only reason movies were in 24p was to save film. 24 fps is the lowest acceptable framerate to the human eye, thats the only reason and sadly youtube caps framerates off at 30 so you can never get bluray quality here
Really depends on what you are shooting: Lets make it extremely simply
- 30p or 24p for things like weddings, family vidoes etc... (real nice movie like look. I am a wedding videographer and clients eat this up, they love it)
- anything that has to do with FAST ACTION 60i (makes my wedding videos look like home videos on America's Funniest Home Vidoes, it just looks...well...cheesy and cheap - however, videoing Jr. playing soccer, or basketball and you can't beat 60i).
I have an idea - why don't you actually pretend to know what you're talking about and EXPLAIN the difference in look and feel and why people should choose one over the other. Perhaps a little more detail than "web changes everything."
I actually try to always film in 60p if i have the space and battery life to do so, because every frame is compressed in a jpeg style. By passing twice as many frames in front of your eyes it helps avoid reduction of image quality as well as smooth motion.
For "Major League Video" I'm pondering their decision to show the host without a shadow. Unless he's clearly so Godly, that he just doesn't cast one.

Here's my opinion; 24p for dramatic/cinematic shots, 30p for action, 60p for slow motion (slowed to 24p)

Thats bullshit it depends on the quality of the camera, a really good camera can shoot 30p in perfect quality

Lmao! In front of a green screen.
You have to remember, that the US isn't the only country on Earth and that people in other countries shoot at 25Fps.
You should have said "30p or 25p".
Apart from that, what's so bad about 24p? It's just going to help your movies look better and it's not hard to work with -_-

i do action & fast at 60p , if i want intense slow dfacial emotions i do 24p, normal mid ranged movement 30p

Choose 30p? Give me a break.

24p definitely looks more "movie like" (filmic). Gonna try to shoot in 24p from now on!
