  • Notice how the singer needs to read the lyrics. I'm sure I would have managed without.

  • @optimystikill

Steve Jobs stole the GUI from Xerox. He didn't create it. Xerox did and Xerox was the first using a mouse as well.

Jobs then stole it and created the Mac.

Jobs is no saint either. I wish people would get their facts straight before spouting such crap.

  • Amiga make me horny!!!!

  • Does anyone else remember the 'Hot-boot' ability.? Try getting a fuckin' P.C. to do that.

  • FUCK AMIGA

  • @sideim

    Fuck you

  • If that clip exists somewhere in better quality? Where it was broadcasted for first time and when?

  • i like how the singer seems to be reading (lyrics?) while she sings. i couldn't memorize them either.

  • 0:43 best

  • My only "amiga" is my Amiga.

  • SUCCESS!

  • Hmmm...

It seems everyone in the 80's had beards.

  • Fuck Macs.

  • that was really true

  • If Microsoft did a version of this wong for Windows, I don't think I'd be able to stop laughing. XD

  • @optimystikill He didn't steal the Amiga GUI he stole from the Mac, however the sane thing to do would have been to atleast use a microkernel.

  • I really wish Amiga survived along with Windows and the Mac.

  • @adryanv A superior system doesn't help when management doesn't know what to do

  • Marketing like this is why Commodore went out of business and why Amiga didn't out sell PC's and Apple. Amiga was far superior. But an angry boy girl singing a silly song isn't going to sell computers.

  • @fjccommish

That along with them not keeping up with changing technology is what killed Amiga and Commodore.

By the 90's the Amiga was getting dated and showed little progress, while PC's were evolving.

It was piss poor management that killed Amiga, since they just wanted to sit on their asses and do nothing, kinda like RIM did with the Blackberry and then they wonder why others surpassed them.

  • @snake2006 You got it.

  • I wonder what the Amiga would be like today if commodore hadn't gone benkrupt and were still making them. I'm sure a modern amiga would kick a PC or MAC's ass, like they did back in the 90's. The OS also looks better than windows and even mac.

  • If it was possible, The Amiga Computer should make a comeback, and get a port of Steam too.

  • 0:42 OOH! OOH!

    lol

  • the best computer ever!!

  • who is the female singer?

  • How can I possibly argue with these professional opinions?

  • @jlesser Yes, these professionals totally makes some genius points here.

  • Im using a Sam440 Flex @ 733 Mhz running Amiga OS 4.1 and I love it! Hello from Singapore ! If there is any Amiga users in Singapore, please contact me for a drink !

  • @t0nes08 Don't worry. This kind of outright exaggerated, overblown appraisal of the Amiga's capabilities and potential has been prevalent amongst its fans almost since the day it was released.

  • @vapourmile you've got nothing better to do than spread FUD about 25 year old workstations on youtube. That's really sad.

  • Amiga 4 live - but I honestly think this commercial must be one of the reasons it went to hell with Commodore & Co

  • And to think the aliens were on their way to earth they see this commercial say "not ready" and do a 180.

"the best graphical computer available today". Wow, just a another way the 80s sucked. No wonder everyone was on coke.

  • @t0nes08 For a start PC still can't do HAM which is a legacy of IBM's backhandroom dealings

  • @dogspawn Why would today's PC want to do HAM? That would be a bit of a step backwards since the next version of Windows will support graphics cards which can display 258billion colours on the screen.

  • too bad Amiga did not continue , Why is that ? They could have done even better with power full software.

  • And yes i just bought one too, first one i ever bought got it for nothing and spent close on £300 for acceleratord 32mb cf 4gb harddrive ,connected it up to a sony decoder dtts-100 ,and you think your pc can out shine this baby,in your dreams , Brian

  • jesus christ.. ONLY AAMIIIIGAA! MAKES IT PASSIBÖL!!

  • 1:35 who the hell was this?

  • Just more proof that people in the 80s did WAY too much coke.

  • A modern PC still hasn't matched the power of an Amiga 4000.

  • @dogspawn U F'N crazy dude!

  • @carcm700 believe it or not I have yet to see a modern PC do a scroll as smoothly as an Amiga could back in 1986...

  • @dogspawn I disagree - and I've got an Amiga 4000 (with a phase 5 PPC board no less installed).

  • @SkuldChan42 You could solve global warming or cure cancer with hardware like that.

  • @dogspawn The MCA architecture whips Zorro over the ass any day ;p

  • Well awesome song. It is sad to the king destroyed and dethroned sad. The Amiga had the best of everything it had the best games, graphics, and hardware power. Hell I be this song was made on an Amiga. Well at least we got Linux.

  • Amiga - the best girlfriend a young male could have in those days^^

  • The Amiga was the best computer for many years, like my friend said "Too bad they didn't develop it further instead of the PC, then we would have much better computers today".

  • Amiga rocks, was way before it's time, with rocking custom chips!

    Myself I got a SAM440EP-Flex with AmigaOS 4.1!

  • this song has nothing on "Apple II Forever"

  • shit sucks guys

  • My Amiga got left in the attic of my parents old home.I didnt get round to digging it out in time before they moved.Had about 500 games with it.I will always regret not salvaging that.

  • What a sickening waste of the greatest hardware platform ever ...

"I want my Amiga back" should be the song today.

Someone save us from this Intel/Microsoft

nightmare ! Don't talk to me about that Apple crap.

  • @RabidRat88 Then you'll be happy to know that the amiga is being rereleased through commodore!

  • @puppyrootbeer I live in reality not lamerland. Commodore is long dead and the ones using it's name are a sad travesty of it.

  • @RabidRat88 it's a bit outdated though

  • @Ribnobs That's why it needs some major financial power to back it's rebirth. Anything else has absolutely no chance of ever competing with the PC/Mac world.

  • @RabidRat88 So far commodore USA supporters/partners include Motorola and Disney.

  • @ATARI800XLfan All I see on the web site are promises and empty tech specs pages... like so many before.

  • @RabidRat88

Even with financial backing, there is no way in hell they can win against Windows unless MS shuts down entirely. It's just a fact that, as much as it makes me very sick to say it.

MS made sure that the Amiga never got a foothold and did tons of illegal monopolizing practices just to make sure of it. Look at Mac's, they only have maybe a 5% foothold in the market PC wise that is and they are superior to Windows. You just can't win, it's not possible.

  • @snake2006 It is tempting to think that but look at the old megacorps like IBM who thought that Microsoft couldn't do any harm to them in the early days when MS was just a few people. There always is a chance that some new daring company can take on the big boys and gradually push them aside. Of course it's not easy with the gangster tactics used by MS (look at what they did to BeOS) to maintain their quasi-monopoly.

  • @snake2006 The Mac is progressing though as the Mac Mini is an affordable option for those who are sick of Windows and not just the luxury ripoff it mostly has been. People are realising there is an alternative with a company that supplies both hardware and software (even if is twice the price it should be).

Mac is now more or less 10% of the market last time I looked. It's the only credible alternative these days.

  • @RabidRat88

Well we got Linux, if we could only get it to be more mainstream it would have a decent chance to atleast take some of Window's market away.

But to do that, it would need 1 standard platform and the community would have to agree, which is unlikely to happen.

  • @snake2006 Linux has no hope as long as it refuses to evolve from it's Unix roots and move on like what Apple did with BSD. The lack of a standard hardware base makes it even less likely as you say, it just is a pipe dream. Someone needs to get Amiga or BeOS on ARM CPUs and do what Apple is doing but at half the price. Then Windows' share would start to drop significantly. The problem is also getting the business software to follow to entice people to switch over. That needs major bucks.

  • @RabidRat88

Your right on that mark as well. Linux needs to evolve more before it can be mainstream and it needs one central version to even have a chance at taking out Windows. But even if that happened, its still unlikely that it could do that, Microsoft has had the market way too long now, I don't see it changing.

  • @RabidRat88 The reason windows works is because it reflects what people want out of a computer. What's the point in having a faster operating system if no 2 builds are compatible. Microsoft have realised a dream, universal compatability for the entire world, it's windows that will expand civilisation into a future where everything and anything speaks the same language. Instead of going against the grain Linux developers should have joined together and standardised their OS.

  • @leerees Windows works because it is the only choice most people have at work.

It is only the compromise between price and functionality that makes it the main choice at home as well. It remains a bloated half-assed effort (see Vista fiasco) that ignores a lot of basic user demands while trying very hard to lock in users to MS products. Let us hope that someone comes along to destroy this sub-par standard.

  • @leerees Fucking hell mate, going by this comment you made "it's windows that will expand civilisation into a future where everything and anything speaks the same language" it looks like to you that Windows will fly us to another Spiral Galaxy, will cure Cancer, raise your Children, have sex with you in bed and perhaps as an optional extra will wipe your arse for you ;)

  • @leerees It's an Operating System and a third rate one at that, it's NOT the answer to all of humanities woes, get a little fucking perspective. I agree with your comment on Linux though.

  • @RabidRat88 Come back to the present, dude.. really...

  • @RabidRat88

You can thank Microsoft for help killing the Amiga. They were scared of it, since they had a deal that made Windows exclusive to Intel hardware. But Windows couldn't even do half what the Amiga OS could accomplish and those intel chips are crap compared to the custom chips the Amiga was using along with the Motorola CPU.

  • Only Amiga makes it possible :P

  • I WANNA GO BACK IN TIME AND SELL THESE!

  • People in the 80's were such greasy, unkempt, unhygienic slobs.

  • YAH BUT THEY HAD AMIGAS!

  • We still use it, going strong at age 24 kids.

  • I wonder why this song was never used in the Sabrina Online radio play? *lol*

  • Arkanoid in the background at 0:56 :D

  • This is extremely cheesy.

  • Amiga byl legendární počítač

  • r.i.p amiga! i still got my cartoon classics amiga under my bed lol

  • i have mine too, under the bed :D

Only mine is an older version, the box only says Commodore Amiga 500.

  • I love how she needs scores to remember : only amiga

  • go amiga!

  • Word to ya mutha!. Only Amiga makes that 5 o clock rush hour cocaine business deal possible. Fo' sho!

  • Does she has to read the lyrics from the sheet? Pretty poor song, but it's true: Amiga is still the best!!!

  • She reads not only the text but also the melody because this ensures that one does not make a mistake and therefore prolong the expensive time in recording studio. She must be rhythmically and melodically absolutely correct for the producer to be satisfied.

  • Thanx for the explanation, but it was only meant as a joke comment. I'm sure she's doing a great job :)

  • Yea Baby ,and that Was the truth ! not like the Crap Sony sais today ....

  • WOw, that was terrible. Love the backup singers at 0:43, hahaha. They take their Amiga song pretty seriously.

  • That's because they are professionals. When you earn your living with singing you must put some passion in it, be it a love song or an advertising jingle. Otherwise you will be substituted with someone who does.

  • im ganna plug in my 2000 right now

  • LOL

    its soooooooooo cheesy

    "ooh ooh oooh"

and the juggler snimation between verses... classy XD

  • only amiga makes it possible

  • AMIGA RULEZ

  • @rigardie

i would give you 1million "positiv", if i could..

  • I feel so nerdy watching this :-D

  • I got an A1200 w Blizzard060 32MB FastRam OS3.1 and FAST ATA IF---

    best computer ever!!! =D

  • still got mine and it works

  • Die Zeiten ändern sich ja für manche vieleicht!

  • I used to play 4-player games on 1 screen (2 players 2 joysticks, 2 players 1 keyboard), should I dare say that the amiga was better than sex? LOL ... but that would be too nerdy LOL I still have my amiga and it still works!

  • is she saying "only omega"?

  • She's saying 'Only Amiga' this is a TV advert for the Amiga computer. Why would they say Omega?

  • i know, but it sounds like "omega"

  • learn how to read dude.

  • I miss the Amiga. WAY AHEAD of it's time. Too bad the marketing group didn't do a better job. So many people didn't even know about it.

  • laughingelfguy.jpg

  • Best computer commercial EVER!!!

  • The Amiga was the finest computer in the market at the time and nothing could compare to it. Even Steve Jobs was constantly worried by the Amiga. Pity that the folks at Commodore couldn't sell water to a dying man in a desert, otherwise, instead of Mac Vs PC, we'd have had Amiga Vs PC, with Apple being a memory.

  • Too bloody right. The great lost machine.

Commodore didn't realise that they should have been competing with (and trouncing) the Mac rather than trying to compete with IBM-compatibles in the drab business marketplace. The Amiga was the first multimedia machine, not some crap CGA 386 rival.

  • @Hotshotter3000

    Agreed.

To bad most people will disagree since the new jobs biography tries to paint Apple as single handedly the best computer company out the and everyone else copied the almighty Steve Jobs and is scummy in Jobs exact words. Apple fanboys and trying to shove their iRevisionist history down everyone's throats these days.

  • Great machine terrible song :/

  • Only Bamiga Sector One.

  • I wonder how long it took to think up the lyrics for this song? ;)

  • I love this jingle. Makes me want to run out and buy an Amiga :-P

It's amazing to me that advertisers don't use catchy jingles like this anymore.

  • haha, best comment ever haha! I agree totally!

  • Why did Commodore have to be so incompetent? The Amiga deserved better than its relatively short life...

Similarly, my A500+ deserves better than it's getting right now. I just don't seem to be very good at looking after Amigas at the moment :(... But I've got plans... And I'm going to see to it that out of all my computers, only Amiga will make it possible!

  • Ok, I love the Amiga, but what kind of songs is that haha:) sooo lame!

  • I've got an A2000HD with MC68030/882 @ 50MHz that's rarely been out of use since I've had it.

I've got wonderful dual/quad core PCs that have 1000's MIP's more power than the Miggy, but there's things I can do on that old machine that just seem to take ages on the PC.

ROCK ON AMIGA I LOVE YOU - AND ALWAYS WILL!

  • Best song EVAR.

  • How many years do I have to wait until there is another machine as exiting to use as the Amiga was.

  • Only Amiga!

  • FUCK MICROSOFT AND APPLE.

Their fucking OS's and hardware is fucking garbage compared to the awesomeness of the Amiga.

  • @snake2006 Don't know if I would agree nowadays but back then, yes indeed. Apple hardware is still pure shit though :D

  • @snake2006 haha so where is Amiga now fag? haha Fuck you and Amiga. Windows 7 spits on your garbage of a OS Amiga

  • @sideim

    Fuck you trash.

Not my fault that Commodore didn't have the money Mircosoft had to buy every businesses loyalty to use windows only.

Doesn't change the fact that Windows and PC's in general could NEVER beat the Amiga fair and square.

  • @snake2006 bull FUCKING shit, your just a sore loser who took a bet on the wrong computer and LOST! So why dont you and the rest of you Amiga fags shut your god damn mouth like a god dead crappy computer and face it. Windows and PCs are t he superior machine that will live on forever.

  • @sideim

No it's the truth. Look it up, everyone knows this.

Explain to me how Windows 7 and Vista run like shit on 2 GB of ram trying to do the same multitasking which the Amiga was doing on 256kb of ram.

The last 5 years we have been catching up to what the Amiga could do back in 1985.

Get your facts straight, the PC couldn't even do HALF what the Amiga did back in the day. Till MS payed off all the businesses to use windows and since windows had a contract with PC's they had to use PC's

  • @snake2006 ALL operating systems today are bloated, NOT just windows.

It's because software developers are LAZY. Computers are ending up in a dead state. Upgrade upgrade upgrade... it's getting just awful.

And not to belittle my poor 1981 IBM 5150; but that little guy can still do a lot. You can watch videos on it in 16 colours, even.

  • @raymangold22

Linux is a not bloated depending on what package you install. Some versions are bloated while others aren't.

But I agree with every other major OS being bloated all to hell.

  • @snake2006 Oh, computers today are getting so awful. They're all clones too. No more unique hardware.

Damn Small Linux is pretty light-weight (awful GUI), buuuut, a LOT of the distributions still tack on useless crap.

I'm rescuing all the old computers I can find, and only using the new stuff when needed :p

  • @sideim 640k is enough for everyone, right? who needs colour graphics, tell you what, if you want 4 colours that'll be £1500 for a CGA card. Sound? We sell business computers here, get out of my shop.

  • hahahahaha cheesefest!! damn i loved my amiga. this video is making me emotional...

  • playing crysis on my amiga right now at over 100fps.....thanks amiga!!!!

  • Very nice song ;-)

  • AMIGA RULEZ FOREVER ! ( Lightwave Pro )

  • "Slightly" cheese?

  • more like extreamly huh...

  • They don't make cheese like this any more!

  • i got an old 2000 in my basement. got a video

toaster and evrything. it has pretty muck ALL

the programs, like brillience, and others.but im still missing the original lightwave. any

buddy know where to get it?

  • Why arn't computer revolutionary anymore?

  • i got a brand new 500 after my c128 died..it had teh best audio and video of that time

  • There was a time, when Amiga was the best machine on market. PC was just lame. But... open architecture won. Too bad that Amiga was a victim of Commodore's bad strategy. :(

I was 10 when I first played on cousin's Amiga. Another World and Golden Axe. Mmmm...

  • yep. had to replace the blade, and the handle.

  • As we just had our 10th year of Amiwest here in Sacramento we have seem good and bad times. We had very show this year and we had new hardware as well as some good classic hardware and the show is now free for the one day and we are going to be planing out for next years as well.

I own new and classic and the amiga isn still the best.

  • Just superb...

  • Every time I see an Amiga I weep tears of nostalgia!

  • Yes exactly... Where is THAT feeling, while using todays machines?

  • You will only be young once in your life. :)

Amiga playing Pirates. Great times. :)

  • If Commodore still existed Amiga would be now the third computer kind in international computer Market.Because now there are two platforms. PC and Apple Mac.Amiga could have been the third one.

  • Well, these days, Macs have pretty much the same x86 architecture as the common PC. There are quite a few others - such as SPARC, POWER, ARM, Itanium, SuperH - but they are used on servers or embedded devices, not home machines.

So, forget hardware, think software. What's the system of the future? As much as I love Mac OS X, I'll say Linux: it's free, it's open, it's got critical mass, it's really good! Get a liveCD and give it a try.

  • Agreed. The Amiga is now 23 years old.

Back in the day if you wanted 3d, you did it with a 7Mhz CPU - with Integer Math! Yeeep, when I was a boy you made your Own 3d...

  • And for what? Are improved graphics a guarantee for a good gameplay? I don't think so. Otherwise no one would play real-life games anymore.

  • err...did you think before you posted your comment or were you hopped up on speed or alcohol? Please don't bother to argue back as I already have 3 Dell PC's here at home. It just seemed idiotic of you to lose it over this...

  • You fuck with Amiga users, and your own asshole gets shoved down your throat, kid. Watch it.

  • Keep your language to youself Daddio.

  • With you all the way dude lets do him the piece of shit bum licking tosser who knows jack shit!

  • This song rocks hard.

  • only Amiga makes it possible!!! YEAAAAHHH LOOOOL

    MIJOLIN SOFTWARE....

  • DAMIT that song is gonna be in my head all day now!

  • Amiga was the Windows of its day, playing the best games with the best features and software. No surprize Windows copied Workbench and we're still using the same UI as today on all windows versions.

You may be forgotten, but the memories you gave us live on in our hearts :)

  • LOOOL

  • This actually showcases what went wrong with the Amiga: Commodore used this lady, Microsoft used the Rolling Stones. :(

  • Great I'm gonna have this dumb song stuck in my head all day now!

  • I still have my Amiga 500. They asked me to sell it for 3000 Euro. I said NO! Because i love that machine. Only Amiga makes it possible. And it's the best amiga i ever had yet. ;) OH! And i wont say RIP cause AMIGA NEVER DIED! By the way..... i see modern consoles applying the architecture of seperated chips for each job even in 2008. Ahead of it's time indeed. And i was a happy 8 years old user back then. AMIGA FOR EVER!
  • Who asked you to sell it for 3000 euro?

You can buy it at ebay for 50 euro...

  • True.

    But that's not the point.

    Even for 300.000 Euros

    i don't sell my memories.

As for the guy, he was a 56 years old sailor- mechanic who always wanted to make his own TV channel. He loves Amigas,he is a collector.

  • only Amiga...makes it possible!!!

  • By commenting on that the singer " is too stupid to memorize the text" or that "the singer is having an orgasm" you only provide evidence for your stupidity and lack of any knowledge about music. Poor idiots- please bare in mind that MUSIC IS RECORDED APART FROM THE VIDOE!!!

  • Ist von einem Atari-Commercial Song abgekupfert. Und zwar für break-out

ansonsten gut gemacht und im Style der Zeit :-)
