  • huhu...

  • dont cook urself :D

  • Nice. Where were these used?

  • have one of these in my old cadillac....

  • qual é o preço?

  • it's just a fart machine

  • дооооолго)))))

  • Don't piss off the siren! It will bite you!

  • Couldn't of you just kept the damn thing there so we can hear it spin it's motors!

  • @JoshuaMouncer . I'm not understanding what you are not happy with Joshua?? Check my other vid of the 20's if you like.

  • @911caddy It's just you kept taking the plyers off the siren so it kept going down. You should of kept them there so we can hear it all the way through; unless there was a reason for letting the plyers off now and then.

  • @JoshuaMouncer

    P-L-I-E-R-S

  • @i8246i Wow, it was a simple mistake. Idiot.

  • @911caddy He means the alligator clips.

  • Thats the way man old is good!

  • shoulda wound it up

  • i likde the sound of our fire trucks' engine and rescure sirens

  • Why not get it up to PEAK rpm and let it coast down?

Better to connect at the battery than arc-damage the siren pedestal.

    Why called "Free Rolling"?

  • @robertgift, a couple reasons it didn't peak. I was new to the electro mechanical sirens. No ear plugs at the time. If you want to hear it peak check my other model 20 siren clips. Due to the tiny positive screw it was easier to tap the screw with the power (at the time) That was two years ago.. I now use a wire attached to the positive screw. It's all about learning.

  • 911caddy Yes, the earplugs are very important. When I test my 2t22A air raid siren by manually connecting the three-phase relay trigger wire from 20 feet away, if I cannot find my earplugs, I use damp toilet paper.

I have always protected my ears and have good hearing. Even use them when tuning organ pipes.

  • how much would this cost someone

  • sniper174174, well.. It depends on the overall condition.. 6 or 12 volt. And how bad the other fella wants one. eBay seems to be the only place I can find these sirens. You'd be looking at 50.00 to 300.00 depending on the style as well. This particular #20 siren was available with a rear bullet cone and a siren light front. These are the pricey versions! Good luck!! p.s. These Sterling sirens have not been made since the late 1960's.

  • @sniper174174 hmm cool so whats the lowest price model you know of the makes this sound

  • My dogs howl when they hear sirens like this one. We practice our "daily howls" with this video lol.

  • DuhhDogsRule14 , too funny!! Ya can't beat a dawg howling to sirens. It always makes me smile when I see a dog howling at us as we blast by code 3.

  • My Scottish terrier howls like coyote when he hears sirens lol.....this is his favorite site ....to funny

  • genial !!

  • Hey 911, were you running that 20 in reverse or were the cables reversed at the battery? I noted that you used red as ground and was curious. DT

  • Ugh, no. The black was grounded to the bolt on the pedestal.. And the red was giving juice to the power post with the screw head.

  • @911caddy OOPS...My bad, I forgot about the Sterling's posi. stud location and my eyes played a trick on me. Now I am wondering how would it sound in reverse, maybe I will try that tomorrow. Nice model 20 you got there, is that the "junior"?

  • No problem. If we don't ask the question..We won't know the answer.

Yeah, the model 20 is also known as the "Junior" and the model 30..The "Senior".

I don't think it would sound good in reverse.. Keep me posted if you figure that one out :)

  • Would you like to sell your Model 20G?

  • No, sorry. It's one of my favorites!

I may loan it to the Dashwood Chief again this spring. He runs it on his Chief wagon truck when the salt is off the roads.

  • I got one :)

  • hahah i was playinq this with full volume neighbors reaked out

  • I'm so jealous you always have the best stuff

  • I hope to have an updated clip of this siren in the next couple weeks. I have the longer grill for the model 20 coming out of the chrome shop and a long rear bullet. Stay tuned!

  • Oh lucky you haha

I'm getting a pa speaker for my cb next week

  • hey cool i can see myself

  • I have an old sterling siren and would like to know more about it.Where do I go to find out?

  • These Are Fucking Kool

  • brilliant!

  • And to think this little beast is back in service on a local Fire Chiefs p/u.

  • I'm a volunteer fire fighter and I'd like to get one for my personal vehicle. Would you uggest this one? Also...How would you mount it and do I have to buy a footpedal to use it?

  • I'll PM ya with your answers :)

  • i like the siren and if i could rear it from a fire engine i would be amazed

  • Check my favorites at youtube. It's currently mounted on the bumper of a local Chiefs truck. I had the opportunity to hear him go on a call with it recently. Sounded great!!

  • You need to get a video of this thing in action! I'd love to see and hear it!

  • It was mounted on a local chiefs ride until about 4 weeks ago.. Due to the salt on the road. It'll go back on his ride in the spring. I thought he had a couple vids up with him responding with the model 20 in action?

  • but u should wind it up all the way

  • In my defence.. I was new to the youtube thing and had no ear plugs. You're so right! Peak that sucker! It's the only way!!

  • now thats how a siren should sound.........welcome to america

  • Or Canada in this case :)

  • Thru Kutiman! :)))

  • thru you!

  • ???

  • LOVE THE SPARKZ SOUND AND CROME

  • This is freaking beautiful!

  • thats awsome

    where did you get it?

    Ebay?

  • A fellow Medic was getting rid of it.. Thankfully I heard about it in time..Whew! It has recently been mounted on a local Volunteer Chief's truck. It's cool to see these sirens back in action!

Mostly I get my sirens from eBay.

  • KUTIMAN SUPERSTAR!

  • know nothing about sirens but this one shouts fire enginecoming, brillant

  • You know more than you think. This siren Sterling model 20 has been on Fire Engines since 1936 (approx). It was discontinued around the late 60's.

    Thanks for the comment!

  • i drive a ambulance for a voluntary ambulance service. we got a wail and a yelp and a blast horn that would wake the dead. might make a video of it and put it up. can you still buy the model as shown by yourself. thanks

  • i put a blast horn on my car i just useit to piss off my next door neighbrs lol

  • what is powering it

  • 12 volt battery and "jumper cables".

  • don't forget me,im a lights and siren nut too.

  • Your Welcome Chris! I'm a bit a siren nut and found that no one has posted more than one siren at a time. It's nice to have a visual & audio libary of what these dinosaurs sound like.I too have a #30. I loaned it to a local Fire Company to mount on their Ladder truck.. It's a great deep sounding siren! It's one of those sirens that makes you think "Fire Engine". I still have a couple more to record as time permits. Enjoy!

  • Thank you so much for posting videos of these kind of sirens. Its rare for someone to videos of the mechanical sirens. I have a Model 30 SIRENLITE but i still havent been able to test it because its a 6volt unit. Otherwise i'd make a video of it too. :-(

  • Well if you can't use it...I'll be happy to take it really. Sorry for asking and all but I"m really desperate to get one and the most I see at the flea market warning product wise are the cheapy amber rotators that you see on newspaper cars...nowhere close to siren territory.
