One of the most beautiful color movies ever made. "Pierrot Le Fou" is my all time favorite film by Jean-Luc Godard. It's so stylish, offbeat, unpredictable, and creative. Great performance by lovely Anna Karina.
« I read something by [Jorge Luis] Borges where he spoke of a man who wanted to create a world. So he created houses, provinces, valleys, rivers, tools, fish, lovers, and then at the end of his life he notices that this 'patient labyrinth is none other then his own portrait.' I had quite this same feeling in the middle of Pierrot [le fou]. »
The music is Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97 "Rhenish"/II. Scherzo. Sehr mässig. It is interesting to note that this music is used in this trailer but not in the soundtrack
@tface34 lol right damn that was a good show they need to bring it back 'someday somewhere' hell if no one does ill get rich and buy the rights to start her up again.
well, you can watch it for free on netflix, if you have it. obviouly, netflix isn't free, but even the $5 1-dvd-a-month plan lets you instant watch as many movies as you want for free. totally worth it, awesome movie.
Such an excellent film. Saw it for the first time this summer and couldn't stop watching it--possibly my favorite of Godard's, which is really saying something.
@Disappearer88 Stupid snobs exist, but you can't assume because they like Godard that they are one. If they only like 60's Godard though, then yes they definitely are a Stupid Snob.
They knew how to make trailers those days. Maybe the greatest one I ever saw. Makes you even show it to people to recommend the movie, that's normally something I'd never do...
i think godard knew how to make trailers. a lot of old trailers are really boring and not very special. i don't like most of the recent trailers either, but some are really good, like the one for "the man who wasn't there" or "miller's crossing" (probably because the coens made them themselves).
Ahh... the vivid colors, the ridicule of bourgios establishments, the abandon and romance... but most of all- the guns and french ladies. This is my first (perhaps fave) Godard film. Saw it at age 20, just before leaving my girlfriend two states away.
Jean Paul Belmondo is a cigarette god.

@RoxProMix Oh my God. Dude, I seriously was also reminded of Cowboy Bebop's previews for upcoming episodes. This was so eerily similar.

@RoxProMix Oh, wait, you're just referring to a episode of Bebop with the same title.

Could it (the music in the trailer) be a loop (repeating unceasingly) of a part of Beethovens Symph. 6, Pastorale?
