  • One of the most beautiful color movies ever made. "Pierrot Le Fou" is my all time favorite film by Jean-Luc Godard. It's so stylish, offbeat, unpredictable, and creative. Great performance by lovely Anna Karina.

  • « I read something by [Jorge Luis] Borges where he spoke of a man who wanted to create a world. So he created houses, provinces, valleys, rivers, tools, fish, lovers, and then at the end of his life he notices that this 'patient labyrinth is none other then his own portrait.' I had quite this same feeling in the middle of Pierrot [le fou]. »

    ☛Jean-Luc Godard (b. 1930)

  • Cowboy Bebop

  • @RoxProMix Oh my God. Dude, I seriously was also reminded of Cowboy Bebop's previews for upcoming episodes. This was so eerily similar.

  • @RoxProMix Oh, wait, you're just referring to a episode of Bebop with the same title.

  • a trailer for a godard film isnt that a contradiction in terms? After breathless it seems all his films were trailers for his next one

  • What song is that?

  • @jackj70 It's the second movement of Schumann's 3rd symphony:

    /watch?v=3u98j5DBE8k&feature=related

  • @jackj70 Schumann's Symphony n.º 3 "Rhenish", Second movement (Scherzo)

  • I've seen very few French films. Can anyone recommend some films? please :)

  • @fleche16 "les 400 coups" et "le feu follet" son films bien, mais tout films de Godard sont plus satisfaissant que la plupart films ces jours

  • @JasonGAHso merci pour ton aide, je vais regarder les films

  • @fleche16 A Bout De Souffle, Le Mepris, Le Fabuleux Destin D'Amelie Poulain, Delicatessen, some great ones

  • @ntn777 hey thanks for your help :)

  • @fleche16 the diving bell and the butterfly, delicatessen, au revoir les enfants

  • @fleche16 "les parapluies de cherbourg" is a classic! And Amelie of course, that's pretty recent.

  • Man this trailer is better than the film. Probably.

  • Una de mis películas favoritas!

    Es alucinante.

  • because love is anarchy.....

  • A very beautiful and poetic movie !

  • @sebastianflyte07 Have you seen it?

  • super trailer !!!

  • this is so poetic and inspiring, bellisimo!

  • bgb

  • The music is Robert Schumann's Symphony No. 3 in E-flat Major, Op. 97 "Rhenish"/II. Scherzo. Sehr mässig. It is interesting to note that this music is used in this trailer but not in the soundtrack

  • Could it (the music in the trailer) be a loop (repeating unceasingly) of a part of Beethovens Symph. 6, Pastorale?

  • Is anybody know the name of the music in this trailer ??? please !!

  • wheres spike and jet

  • @tface34 lol right damn that was a good show they need to bring it back 'someday somewhere' hell if no one does ill get rich and buy the rights to start her up again.

  • Cette film est magnifique!

  • I've not seen the film, but the trailer alone is just magnificent and beautiful.

  • one of the all time best

  • this movie was AMAZING

  • Best film ever!

  • i love this movie!!!

la nouvelle vague is so magic and

    (un)real

  • Does anyone know the music being played in the background, it sounds like Mozart.

  • I interested as well.

  • What a clever comment.

  • just AWESOME

  • where can i watch this free online?

  • well, you can watch it for free on netflix, if you have it. obviouly, netflix isn't free, but even the $5 1-dvd-a-month plan lets you instant watch as many movies as you want for free. totally worth it, awesome movie.

  • go rent it.

  • I love the way that godard uses colors , it has, I dont know ,it has joie de vivre,

he is the very best of "la nouvelle vague".

  • This is just one of these films that deserve to be called perfect. In every way. Thanks for putting this on!

  • This is perhaps his greatest movie, although I love every one that I've seen. A literate sensibility, and so outside the system de Hollywood! Bien!

  • Nice cameo of Samuel Fuller. I love Gordard's films cameos

  • best trailer ever for one of the best films ever

  • Such an excellent film. Saw it for the first time this summer and couldn't stop watching it--possibly my favorite of Godard's, which is really saying something.

  • thanks for putting this on.....my favourite film

  • "Blah blah blah I'm a stupid snob"

  • @Disappearer88 Stupid snobs exist, but you can't assume because they like Godard that they are one. If they only like 60's Godard though, then yes they definitely are a Stupid Snob.

  • They knew how to make trailers those days. Maybe the greatest one I ever saw. Makes you even show it to people to recommend the movie, that's normally something I'd never do...

  • yeah on this time the trailers are so bad, that can make you lost interest in good movie

  • Trailers were never *that* good. I don't think there was ever a "golden age of trailers."

  • The best trailer I can think of is for "Magic". It's on YouTube.

  • i think godard knew how to make trailers. a lot of old trailers are really boring and not very special. i don't like most of the recent trailers either, but some are really good, like the one for "the man who wasn't there" or "miller's crossing" (probably because the coens made them themselves).

  • Crazy Pierrot, pure poetry

  • yeah great film

  • Ahh... the vivid colors, the ridicule of bourgios establishments, the abandon and romance... but most of all- the guns and french ladies. This is my first (perhaps fave) Godard film. Saw it at age 20, just before leaving my girlfriend two states away.

(you've never seen so many cigarettes)

  • great film and great trailer

  • waiting to be released from criterion, but when?

  • February 2008. 2-disc set.

  • Probably the greatest film ever by any director. Godard rules!
