I used to think that if these men knew how much the child suffers afterwards, how terribly damanged they end up, they would not do it. Oprah Winfrey recently had a show were 200 adult men who had been molested as children shared their stories. It turns out 1 out of every 6 men were molested! We just don't talk about it.

1) Not that this in anyway excuses child abuse, but the simple fact here is that pedophilia is a sexual orientation, and that sexual liberalism actually encourage pedophiles to live it out. If we really want to protect the children from these people, we need to correctly identify the problem before we can fix it.
All pedophiles don't hurt children in fact most don't do more than look, basic psychology will tell you that if pedophiles could come out and get help many would before anyone got hurt.
Plus they don't just get bored and it doesn't stop until they get help, and prisons don't seem to work so well for them.

If anyone is getting abused, the right thing to do is to stay away from that person, or if you can't tell someone you trust and get help... Other than that, this was very sad. I'm in my 30's, and I've found that a platonic relationship with a child actually helped to reduce my sexual attraction to children. (I've read the same principle from a gay guy). @anoniem1961 I highly doubt that. I'm only 15 and I have done very little research on this issue, but I've never seen an example of other animals being pedophiles. In nature, we can observe over 500 species of animals that have homosexual members. Therefore, we know that homosexuality is something that we're born with. However, I've never seen anything like that regarding pedophiles.

@azsli2 I mean, cite the scientific papers in which this study was committed. There can be various explanations for this. Penguins are social animals. If these two were kept in a cage alone, then I would expect that such behavior might occur. But that is in artificial conditions. I find it highly doubtful that that would happen in the wild.

@LanceHertford I too experienced the same thing, but society is fucked, I have asked for help, saught it out so many times, the same two things keep happening, either I am told "maybe you are gay" or "sorry, we have nothing available for men". From a young age I began to have fantasies about men raping me, but I couldn't care less about men otherwise. @LanceHertford I'm 22 this month. I've suspected I might've been molested when I was very young, but only because it'd help explain my behavior now. I kinda feel silly though, it seems so unlikely. Then again, as my epilepsy has worsened with age, I've learned that I've likely been having tiny seizures my whole life. They certainly affect memory. But, I would've had to be, seriously, very young... and, I have no clue who might've done it. Still, strange anomalies lead me there...

In nature, we can observe over 500 species of animals that have homosexual members. Therefore, we know that homosexuality is something that we're born with. I can trace it back to when I was about 9, Just like men and women, children are distinguished from adults by universal differences in body proportions (Yes, it is more than just size) I get all the physical responses when I see a beautiful boy, but most importantly, just like anyone else, sexual feelings never overpower self control.

@2MuchGr33N 1) Correct. I've made the comparison from my own experience, and I have yet to hear a good reason why pedophilia should *not* be considered a sexual orientation. People seems to think that once you give real world explanations for what pedophilia is, you somehow justify child sex. Nothing could be further from the truth. But as long as people refuse to acknowledge this, the longer we have to wait for a cure, and the more children will get hurt.

There is a lot of bullshit being propagated by "gay right movements" and "sexual therapists" like : "It's unhealthy to suppress your sexuality", and "Because I can't help how I feel, I can't help what I do". It doesn't help that I'm fully aware I'm blocking out the majority of what happened. The mind is a strange thing, though. Part of you always remembers, and it affects you, even if you don't remember. In fact, maybe it affects you worse, because so much of my behavior may be keeping me from remembering.

@LanceHertford I too experienced the same thing, but society is fucked, I have asked for help, saught it out so many times, the same two things keep happening, either I am told "maybe you are gay" or "sorry, we have nothing available for men". In the mean time, I am closer to 40 than 30 now, and because I am single, and not had a serous relationship, and find it hard to make friends, because I am, in other peoples words "weird", People assume I am a pedophile, rumors are harsh.

@cube252002 I know, right? I'm almost 30, never dated. I'm very much attracted to women. I'm not attracted to men at all. From a young age I began to have fantasies about men raping me, but I couldn't care less about men otherwise. I fantasized about people hurting- even murdering- me, in general, from a pretty young age. I'm very afraid of being around children. I have no desire to hurt a child, but I'm deathly afraid of accidentally hurting them, or people assuming I'm a pedo.

@LanceHertford I'm 22 this month. I've suspected I might've been molested when I was very young, but only because it'd help explain my behavior now. I kinda feel silly though, it seems so unlikely. Then again, as my epilepsy has worsened with age, I've learned that I've likely been having tiny seizures my whole life. They certainly affect memory. But, I would've had to be, seriously, very young... and, I have no clue who might've done it. Still, strange anomalies lead me there...

I would have to know all the symptoms you feel point in that direction, and I might be able to shed a little more light on it. @marrylegs28 same reason most don't, they don't think they will be believed and in our culture we are taught sex is dirty, so therefore, WE are dirty even if victimized, or sometimes especially because of it. We think we caused it or will even be called gay or various abusive things by other kids and adults. That's one good reason. Maybe if society would change the way it treats kid and sex kids would talk more about it, especially when it's not good sex.
