It is quite disingenuous for Obama to focus on the power of words to inspire-they can and do. But we also intuitively know from everyday experience there is such a thing as B.S. and that talk is cheap. That is why words cannot be divorced from action-that's Clinton's real point. ...and another thing. Obama is putting himself on the line far more than Clinton. He is setting himself up for a real challenge. As president he will be acutely aware of the pressure to live up to his 'words'. For him failure would be spectacular - which for me, gives him the edge. For Clinton, failure would probably be blended into perspective within the Bush/Clinton lineage. It would be too easy for her to fade into history with nothing more than the distinction of being first woman president.

But we also intuitively know from everyday experience there is such a thing as B.S. and that talk is cheap. That is why words cannot be divorced from action-that's Clinton's real point. There is very little real difference between the policies of these two candidates. What we are being asked is to choose between what we know and what we feel. Its easy to be disillusioned with 'promises' after 8 years of being let down, but Clinton's tears one day, then assertion that she is a "fighter" the next. - Her being 'honored' to run with Obama one day, then ashamed of him the next, displays an erratic personality that does not fill me with confidence. Experience is not everything.

Obama is a better speaker and probably a better problem solver because he focuses on what we as a nation can do instead of what the other candidate cannot do. It's more true that all she offers is substance, there was hardly any criticism through most of the campaign. 100% policy, US Grade A. Take a look at her (1) proposal to address the financial crisis (Obama has none, so he criticizes hers) or (2) her health care plan (Obama's is less comprehensive).

Hillary has no record of public service. She was a corporate lawyer. Then she was First Lady for 8 years. Bill threw her the health care issue which was a total failure. For Hillary to speak of 35 or 15 years of service is a fabrication. She has less than Obama with only a few years in the senate where she showed no leadership and enabled Bush in his disastrous foreign policy debacle. Her misamanagement of her campaign is another example of her incompetence.

What you don't get is the "less fortunate" can be anything they want in America (from Lincoln's log cabin, to Edward's multimillion fortune from extreme poverty). The real comparison between Obama and Deval Patrick...is the one people in Boston have been drawing for some time between two inspirational candidates who talk big change, but then...face the hard light of reality when they win. Deval had a rough first few months in office, and while he's now settled in, his governorship is, according to many observers, not so different than those of his predecessors, who did not promise major change. He's fighting for casinos, not a revolution.
