The way she just sings completely unaware of how amazing the words are coming out combined with the pure awesomeness of this song makes it a real treat
Wuff!! An old guy like me loves to see where the next great ones are coming from. This kid is the real deal. I'll be dead soon...Y'all enjoy her. Peace out.
I saw here when she was touring with Norah Jones. I'd heard her before that, being from the Dallas area, but I absolutely fell in love with her when I saw her live. This song has been in my head all week. It's not the kind of earworm one wants to get rid of. I keep coming back to hear it again.
heard one of her songs an KSYM a local San Antonio College radio station... used SoundHound and found this amazing Sarah Jaffe... now i have been Youtubing all her videos.... can't wait to catch her in Austin :)
she is so subtle in her melody and it seems as if shes nto tryign but this is so incredibly and even significantly different from the attitude she plays the song on her album. love this rendition.
I have a rather broad range of music, from dubstep to hardcore to underground hip hop to death metal, so on and so forth... Despite that wide range this is still outside of that, but this is just such great music. That takes quite a bit of tallent what she does. she has quite a gift!
Sure, YouTube gives every moron with camera-access a venue to show us they simply have too much time on their hands and very little worthwhile to offer. On the other hand this same venue allows people like myself to discover and embrace an array of talented artists that we most likely would not have been exposed to in the pre-web era. This fact alone more than offsets the aforementioned prolific drivel, and to come across an artist like Sarah is a case in point. Truly gifted she is.........
This song reminds me of my brother-in-law and his struggles to make sure I'm going to school and not skipping. One time I used a nose bleed as an excuse to stay home and he called me a baby. I think "one more message" means one more warning. After he warned me a couple times not to miss class, he went to "option B." Now he comes to my house on his way to work every morning to make sure I wake up for school.
I hate it because...well I look like a fricken ogre in the morning and I hate when people see me like that. So I feel "vulnerable." He says a couple random things and leaves, expecting me to just magically be fixed in the head and jump up for school with a smile on my face. Him and my sister also make up "theories" of why I am the way I am - that is, obsessed with my image and depressed all the time. It's too complex for them so they resort to calling me a selfish, manipulative 5 year old.

I thought sara was good before.. after watcher her solos..just wow. no band required, just her alone with an acoustic is all that's needed.

Such a lovely voice. Melancholy in melody.

She's great. And she reminds me a bit of Sia. Both underrated. Wonderful work Sarah.

NOT to be missed live. Saw with Old 97's in Tucson, we enjoyed her set more than theirs, which is saying a lot for me...

Okay, big huge song interpretation from my POV.
