It's weird to see how loopy Andre's shots were at this time of his career. Certainly, later in his career his shots became flatter with lower tragectories.
Also, his serve changed tremendously. He got his toss much higher as career progressed.
most people dont realise this is a very slow court thats why chris evert was so sucessful here.edberg would have won this match if it was played on a faster surface.he beat agassi this year at indian wells a much faster surface.
Certainly a major contender from the last three decades. He might have had some competition from the best players from the 70s in particular. And McEnroe would be a rival for that crown.

Edberg won Indian Wells vs. Agassi two week before....however his service always suffered against the answers of Bollettieri's players. Head to head: Agassi-Edberg 6-3, Courier-Edberg 6-4. This final was won by Agassi 6-1 6-4 0-6 6-2.
edberg lost because of a weak forehand? uhhh, no, edberg lost because agassi was one of the world's great ball strikers and didn't use looping topspin.
@sharpasaneraser edberg realy haved weak foreheand but he neutral this with great beckhand and serve/wolley technique... My favorite tennis player is Edberg... i still have Stefan Edberg shoes
I had the best seat in the house for this match...I was court "security" at the entrance of the court for this match...needless to say, I had camera in hand!!!
Psychologically brittle, but in my opinion the most talented player of all time. Seriously. I know it's become standard to put Federer into that bracket, but Fed's playing in an era of better racquet tech, especially strings. Close, but Agassi's ground strokes are just magnificent...amazing. Obviously he only (!) won 8 slams, and I'm not saying he fulfilled his potential, but he had SO much talent.
@KaitainCPS Yes, there's a nice clip of Brad Gilbert talking about Agassi on YouTube, saying how every Agassi shot is center-cut, in the sweet spot, and taken early. He revolutionized the game that way. As a tiny kid with a big racket hitting vs. a ball machine 2,500 times a day, the only joy he found was in the perfect center strike when the ball would zoom fastest off his racket. He tried for that as his only possible pleasure. There's a nice story in Open about his father meeting Peter Graf.

Stefan Edberg is at least one of the top 3 volley players of all-time if not the best!

Agassi was just a bad matchup for Edberg. Edberg may have been the better player, but if they played 10 more times, Agassi would win 7 or 8.

Agassi just blew Edberg who was at the time the worlds no 1. Agassi played well, Edberg had a weak forehand which is why he lost

Edberg at the time was the n.3

Mitico Rino. Che io sappia fino a poco tempo fa commentava le partite di tennis su Sky sport insieme all'intrmontabile Gianni Clerici.
ma ormai saranno entramnbi piuttosto attempati.....ma non ci vanno in pensione i giornalisti?

Great match. Agassi was blowing passing shots past a defenseless Edberg. The new generation of rockstar tennis player had arrived!
