This was awesome! You.. Particleion.. are quite the visionary, you take information and make it visual, something we find hard to even fathom with words themselves. Try holding a conversation just about black holes. Some people actually can't either comprehend, or fear it. It's about time people are shown truth, even when it's right under your nose.(internet)
When I think of the internet becoming some sort of AI, the last words of Commander David Bowman comes to mind...... "My God, it's full of stars." And at that one point humankind will have some understanding of what it is like to be a God.
Personally I think the question about AI isnt about when it will be discovered or achieved but when are we gonna realize that all we need to do is configure the net system we have now into a more humanistic integrated machine. were not going to have AI that can study philosophy but we will have machines where we can upload our knowledge and it can be tracked and shared. we already have that but it needs a more human quality like voice command, language interpretation. we will always have control
@addictfan In fact the AI that is being worked on currewntly is not going to be just a robot with 'the information of the world in it'. They are actually making the AI human-like, with basic 'neurological' constructs with the ability to learn, just like us. They will be able to 'study philosophy'. They will be 'persons' for all intents and purposes. We will 'meet them half way' aswell. There eventually will be no 'we' and 'them'.
@MindfulFuture I dont know, i can't say i believe there will be no we and them. first of all they will have no emotions. and even if they could learn like you say there is always going to be someone with the controls to the entire system. i dont see an AI being anything more than a bucket of our knowledge that we can use as a tool. but if u have any resources that i could makes points to otherwise id be glad to see them. i just cant see an artificial person seeming real without the programming

You just described computer..yawn..we're going to far surpass that..
Check out my playlists, especially 'Artificial Intelligence ~ Robotics' and 'The Technological Singularity'. Also, I sent you a message to a great vid re: child-like robot...enjoy.
We're going to meet 'them' halfway via our own 'upgrades'...thanks for having an open mind :)
