  • Wow we try and try here i europe, to not mess op the planet to much, and then you make such a project. It proberly pollute as much as a small town here. Not saying it is a bad project, recycling is god, but burning waste oil is not the way.

  • hey i would use copper tubing infront of the flame and run it inside of the oil cup so the heat from the copper tubing would heat up the oil

  • dear measured now..

  • hi can u tell oil consumption????????????

  • @bhaikhurram1 Sorry, but I never measured

  • itll never catch on lol

  • Hey mate just wondering if you where to seal off the entire unit so the flame was inside the barrel, smoke going out a flue and only have the spray gun being exposed at the end like u have would u get many fumes coming out of where the air and fuel are sprayed in, just asking as I want to build one but I cant have oil fumes in garage if i decide to close the roller door I dont wanna stink out the place? Any Help would be great as think this is a wikd KISS idea =)

  • @MrDistilr There is not enough air from air gun only to fully burn an oil. Air stream from an airgun creates air suction into cylinder. There is no dark smoke at all. If there would be that will indicate too little air. The best is to extract fumes out as you can run out of oxygen in a closed garage soon or later. When I ran a burner for longer an air became unpleasant to breathe. As you see flame approaches cylinder under an angle so it cycles inside on a surface of cyliner,

  • Typical case of "the silmpliest - the best" Congratulation! :)

  • look at my burner the only one burning up worths yet on youtube.com/watch?v=2bKNpb6-FOU

  • Put HHO in to combination and u will get a goal :D .Not kidding btw.

  • that was not buning well it looked like it was lossing lots of it burn power sorry try to bet it ti blue color more air more fuel play with it

  • Hey, here is a simple way to preheat the oil: mount a 10 watt light bulb just above the reservoir let the oil drip on the light bulb at first then fall into the reservoir. Gravity powered, cheap oil filter probably will be necessary too. Great burner!

  • @thierryanna Hi

I've build exchanger, but it's fumes-to-air exchanging system, with car radiator fan as a blower. That was only quick solution to heat up my garage last winter. I'm preparing myself to make another one- waste wood (old one-way pallets) burning stove heating up CH water as well. I can make some pics of current exchanger and post them if you interested. Thanks for interest

  • @wiatroda Hi , I've just visited you w/site the : Graphic Card & MCU Water Cooling System pictures, if those were made larger, they could make a great heat exchanger for hot water

  • @Loonypics Yes, and to make it 3 layer of plates sandwich with inside plate having cut fins with a slit saw it could be really good exchanger. Longer of course with more in/out ports i think

  • Nice burner. I have been bussy with a babington burner for two years now, but i cant get it stable enough. Well i have a old spraygun :) so iam gonna try your idea.......how big is your air vessel? mine is 50 liter and pumps 320 l/min that must be enough.

    Keep going

  • @scampppp Hi, the tank is 50 liters, but I'm not sure about compressor, but it's cheap compressor you can buy sometimes at supermarket deal( I bet it don't pump a lot of litres). I think to make another stove for wood as I have access to free scrap pallets.

  • you better use vaccum cleaner to blow air. Same concept like in melting furnace.

  • I intentionally used air gun instead of vacuum cleaner:

    1. I need heat garage for few hours per day and by using air gun I can greatly control heat output

    2. Blower burner generate too much heat output per short period of time

    3. Vacuum cleaner generate too much noise and use too much kWh electricity and I don't think It will last or long using it everyday for few hours

    4. Compressor starts every 30 min for few minutes, rest time it uses air from a tank

  • A paint sprayer huh? I toyed with the idea of pumping oil with my airless and doing kinda what you're doing here. There sure is a lot of energy stored in that oil.

  • @yonmoore , I don't know how expensive your sprayer pump is but pumping waste oils through it doesn't sound to good, even if you have filtered it first! IMHO, using the high-pressure method for atomizing waste oils is not the best way. @wiatroda here has the right idea. Preheating the oil to 180F then atomizing via paint gun, all-metal air brush($15 @Harbor Freight Item #95810), or siphon nozzle is the best way to go and the best path for automating if you wish to refine the process.
