Lol the ninja at the bottom right managed to roll away from an attack, kill 3 samurai, and still escapes! This is why i love real time strategy games :)

i swear If you watch closely the one ninja (bottom right) does an epic back roll avoiding a strike, deflects a katana blow ,kills maybe 3 samarai 1 on 1 ... then when the ninja are finally routed hes the only one that gets away lol skills

Ninjas were more than just elite assassins and either way could have won in a fight. You can't really compare the two. Although I'm pretty sure that more samuri were killed by ninjas than the other way around.

@TheGameking1998 i think people's conception of ninjas is overrated, ninjas generally were used to kill sleeping, or unaware people, in open conflict they would have been slaughtered, as the video shows

In reality ninjas were assassins, and samurai were elite warriors, so in a face to face battle samurai would almost always win, unless ridiculously outnumbered, or handicapped in some way (e.g. no armour).

Anyway, I think even in real life (back then) ninjas couldn't win a face to face battle against samurais, their sword were poor quality and would easily break.

@KarasuNoGoh they used katanas of the same high quality as samurais. i think the blade u r referring to is a ninjato, but thats a myth.

they werent primarily fighters but spies, unlike samurais who live by bushido.

A huge sheet of steel, folded many times and sharpened many time to achieve the greatest blade. As were the samurais, the ninjas didnt stand a chance because samurais when through years of training and are basically ninjas with way more experience

@HustlerMitch ninjas where meant for stealth and assasinations. to do that they needed speed wich meant their armour was lighter. also, the samurai outnumber the ninjas at least 3 to 1 and they got the charge bonus. of course they lost.

@HustlerMitch there's a big difference between samurai and ninja. the samurais probably trained for a long time but so did the ninjas. ninjas were meant for quick hit and run attacks while samurai were meant for open battles. it's like comparing a sniper to a soldier with a lmg. they both had years of training but they perform a very differend role in a battle.

@KarasuNoGoh Do u even know their weapons. Poor quality, NO. Ninjas would hardly be kill by samurai, their weapons were good as the samurai, all of their weapons poisoned and were masters of more than one weapon. NINJAS were the best in their times, Samurai were just soldiers as NINJAS were special forces. Is like saying Navy Seals sucks and Army rules, but they are also human and die the same. But ninjas were above samurai.

@DOSU344 False... Ninjas werent the best warriors of their time. Samurais were. But as i said below, ninjas were assassins, Samurais warriors. THAT was the main difference between them... By the way. Their weapons wasnt poisoned... AND samurais also handled more then one weapon. At least two... so yeah... learn something before posting

@Greencze I know what im saying thats why im posting it. U need to get some books and go to their museums, many ninja clans poison all their weapons and even blade, so one cut and turn to instant death. Ninjas were warriors, assassins and spionage masters. So i stand correct again, as for the best warrior there is no such thing as one, only better figthers. Samurai were good in their deal and they master at least 4 weapons. Ninjas master all of them. Learn something before posting.

@KarasuNoGoh Their swords were equal, only ninja's sword was a bit shorter... The only difference between ninjas and samurai was that Ninja, were fighters which charged from shadows, threw smoke bombs and in the midst of the created chaos, slaughtered everyone. Samurai on the other hand was a fair warrior which honored the fair fight one on one. So yeah... basically here Ninjas would'nt stand a chance even in real life

@KarasuNoGoh ninjas werent supposed to fight at all.... They were assassins supposed to kill people when they were a sleep or other times when they couldnt defend themselfs. They didnt have the Bushidos honorful way ;)

@Riksosten95 Exactly, that's kinda what i meant, their purpose was to assassinate (backstab, poison), steal and spy. So they were not meant to fight face to face, neither were their swords.

They just handled tasks Samuraï would not because those were dishonorful, in fact Samuraï code was so strong they refused to use guns for 250 years.

@KarasuNoGoh Samurai used gun powder weapons, mainly arquebuses would start being used in the 1500's. Many believe that during the Sakoku the political power of the samurai led to muskets being banned in Japan, this is a misconception. The shogunate even created several political positions to oversee their manufacture and inventory.

Strangely enough, I had this same kind of situation on the same map, only at night. Ninja tried to sneak up behind, got caught up with some melee, got routed, and a single ninja was the only survivor, I saw him running down to the 2nd tier, then the 1st tier, and then.....an arrow got him in the neck.

you can make your ninjas capture the central flag, and capture important locations while the enemy army is busy in the front. Afterwards you can use ninjas to attack enemy general(s) from behind. I did that in ETW.

@RowanNo1 well my original plan was to use the ninja to sneak behind and capture the castle while my army assault the walls but i forgot about the ninjas cause i got distracted by the big battle going on at the front.
