  • Violent officers my ass. LAPD would have rolled you for that. Stupid hippies.

  • The RCMP were doing there job people should move there cars when asked by law enforcement then things like this would not happen.

  • shouldnt have resisted arrest

  • i like how its somehow the cops fault they parked illegally and that he stopped a cop from arresting someone.. and is somehow supposed to NOT get into trouble for that, these people are just amazingly stupid.

  • Yes. charge the police. They have no right doing their job and enforcing the law!

fucking trash, I'm glad i live in rural Saskatchewan where we're not overrun with walking pieces of shit, otherwise known as hippies.

  • 2:05-2:18 Hey Asshole! You did this, you provoked it! You'll do to any length to protect the big dogs. But what about us? We feel threatened every fucking time we see you! Boohoo felt threatened then quit the force, we don't need people like you.

  • Its a fire lane dumb ass. You broke the law you f-ing retard. You deserve everything that happened to you.

  • @AnotherLevelMinistry have you ever jay-walked? i could go on to list the thousands of ways that YOU yourself break the law. should you be maced and tasered? loaded into a paddywagon like an animal? every day police on the street make judgement calls. every day they see blatant violations and ignore them; but when people speak in a language they don't like, well,.....

  • What a chump !! Next time dont be a two year old and do what your told...

  • Jack didnt do anything wrong. I've seen many vehicles parked exactly where he was parked at all sorts of events in Polson Park. He ended up in handcuffs why? Cuz some bitch bylaw officer had her feelings hurt? he tried to move his car when the tow truck showed up and they wouldnt let him

  • It's like they never grew up. It's all kid tactics.

  • Oh, I'm a hipster selling my crap and I'm too lazy to walk so I'll just park in a fire lane for 3 hours, and cry victim when officers do something about it.

  • @wvu1819 obedient lap dog. do you believe for one minute that the reaction would have been the same if this was a demonstration lauding the imperialist neo-con agenda? yet another typical overreaction from the jackboots and you, the brainwashed mindless drone applaud it. congratulations! you and your kind are ushering in the police state and fascism. hope you like the party line,......

  • Comment removed

  • @wvu1819 you're funny! i especially like how you insinuate that these people were employing tactics as drastic as setting someone's house on fire. how about you don't dodge the question, do you think that an assemblage of neo-cons, having obtained the proper permits, would have experienced the same reaction to the location of their cars; or the subsequent overreaction? it's head out of your ass time lad.

  • @wvu1819 whatever it is that they are putting into the water, you're drinking it aren't you. i understand your need to defend the machine; you don't really want to admit that the tennets of democracy are as fragile and tenuous as they are. here's the truth you are trying so deperately to avoid; the rights of assembly protected by the constitution expressly forbid the need to purchase "permits" that allow you to gather in the first place. this incident may have taken place in canada, and that may

  • @lezzunz4fR33 in fact be the reason that the overreaction on display was not anymore violent than it was(american cops don't cotton to protests lightly). it does not change the nature of our argument. you utilize the pathetic excuse of firelane blockage as your defense of their actions, but the truth is it was a convenient opportunity to exact some "discretionary" police work. remember, coward, that only a true patriot questions authority and challenges tyranny.

  • @wvu1819 parade with "war solves nothing" banners hanging from them. So I mean, I think you're the kind of person who rips the plastic security strips out of $20 bills because "the government is tracking" you. You call me a coward (although I don't think even you know how you reached that conclusion), and I'm calling you an idiot, because it's very clear to everyone that you're a rebellious pot-head who is mad because smoking weed isn't a religion. I've known tens to hundreds of people who

  • @wvu1819 you go on believing what you must, it makes no difference to me. anyone with any real intelligence knows that the rigors of supporting the prinicples of freedom and protecting the ideals of the constitution are a daily undertaking considering the wanton disregard of the ruling class. anyone who doesn't believe that we are all skating perilously close to the edge of a draconian police state is blinded by the mass media. keep your head in the sand, i protect you anyway. douchebag.

  • he wraps himself around a suspect being arrested, and then wonders why force is used against him. Protesters and criminals alike intentionally illicit these responses to draw attention to their causes and to damage the credibility of those enforcing the law.

  • pigs eat shit

  • cause if a fuckin fire started and you car stopped fire trucks from saving lives. thats why you dont fuckin park in a fire lane. should have got pepper sprayed with what we carry in new orleans

  • If this is keeping the Peace I'd hate to see disorder.

  • MACE!!! Im getting mace soon!

    Dont 'mace' me bro!.......Loser

  • Yeah... It was all because of a parking offence.... Let's face it, "peace protestors" are in 99% of the time protesting against the government. Police are the government. Police have the right to use force. Police don't talk, they act; if you don't obey blindly, you're screwed. They have really no "people skills". There was no reason for this, they could've taken the guy after the protest was over, if they had to take him. This way it could've turned really ugly...

  • the cop had better used his gun. I hate those stupid riot idiots!

  • The cop did everything RIGHT... the old FAG shouldn't have got in the way to start with. The old fag deserves everything he got. He's lucky the cop was a good cop.

  • yes he immediately sprayed him, there wasn't 2 minutes of footage of officers trying to remove him. they didn't warn him several times showing him the can. no, it was immediate.

  • When the police tell you to do something, you do it. If they are wrong, sue them to death, but they have the power.

Ohhh, poor baby, your head hurts so bad. Are you going to move your fucking car next time?

  • w8 a minute at 2:43 the cop says that cop are tryin to mantiane the peace. I mean sure ya i no wat there sayin but it just a peace rally and a guys car. from wat i see in this vid there doing the complet oposite from keepin the peace

  • stupid ignorants..they just needed to move their vehicles. Why shouldnt it be able to park there?? ...cause its a fire lane!!!!

  • One of the greatest dangers to an authoritarian government is dissenters who ask questions. Gaining "respect" through violence works until the general population realizes that the enforcers have become the criminals. It is then that the enforcers had better start looking over their shoulders.

  • can you say hippie or white trash

  • Why do "peace protestors" always initiate the use of force and obstruction and engage in mob rule thuggery?

  • step in and maintain the peace eh....

  • COPS ARE ALWAYS MEAN...

  • They will do anything to get you printed and processed, and put in the system. If you think I'm joking look at the FBI's gigantic underground database..or FEMA concentration camps.

THE POLICE are the enemies in this case...who were they protecting or helping here.????

cops are the good guys right?

  • Where else was he supposed to park?.... Is this guy an idiot? I say pepper spray all of those idiots...

  • Bad police work.. Spraying the old guy is totally correct, but why didnt the officer spray the other gay saying "oh nooo you didnt have to do...." I dont get it.. Spray him to!!!! His an idiot and a troublemaker for everyone!

  • "And my cars full of merchandise that i have to sell"

Yup... your REALLY fighting the man there.... they were oppressing your right to....make profits? could you really not walk two blocks?

    Nothing wrong.

    Furthermore, Anti-capitalist capitalism? hmm...

  • What a bunch of morons...the "peace" protesters that is.

  • The USA has become a police state.Cops are braindeads ,the biggest gang in america,Bush and the CFR members do not care about the constitution, and the shit is flowing from the top down,to to police state nazi's,they are dometic terrosits ,taking away our constitutional rights and we all need to ready our selves to revolt and bring back our republic and constitution.take no more abuse from these nazi stooges,

  • Uh, that was canada.

  • Ha Ha Ha! Kinda makes what Hroark7 says meaningless when (s)he can't even pay attention to the fact that the RCMP is involved.

  • "As soon as he put him in handcuffs I hugged him." Getting in the way of the police is pretty dumb.

  • YES!

    -Go Law Enforcement-

  • As we can all clearly see, it was the cops that brought the violence to this peaceful rally and it took five of them to beat down this elderly peaceful protester. Make yourselves useful and go catch a pedophile you fuckin pigs!

  • You are a fucking idiot. The guy got himself involved and got what he deserved. Ive been sprayed and it does not make your arm go numb fucking pansy

  • Hey loser who's talkin about pepper spray? U fuckin idiot. Your missin the entire point. The fact that at a "PEACE RALLY" it's the cops that get physical instead of, CALMING THE SITUATION DOWN. How many cops does it take to arrest or beat the shit out of an elderly peace protester? 4-5. What are police priorities? To beat people up at a PEACE RALLY or to catch REAL criminals like violent, sexual, rapists and murderers. Can your little brain grasp that moron rebol01?

  • fuck you! i hope your phone goes dead when you need to make a 911 call

  • Lol...good one! Don't hurt your brain by thinking to hard!!

  • Just do what the police tell you and you won't get an ass beating.

  • Yeah really thats what the nazi's also recommnded people do they ended up well?

  • someone got owned, heres a hint

    tompfag

  • Dont fuck with Canadian Forces police or military ... YOU NEVER WIN!!

  • "you need to talk me about this" and why do the police need to talk to you about this.

  • People need to learn to do what the police tell them and they won't get fucked up.

  • People think the rules apply to everyone but them. When the police are attempting to arrest someone, there is a time and a place for protest and discussion. It's called the courtroom; not with the arresting officer.

  • so go ahead and sip your lattes and hug your trees, but when you do not comply with an officer there are things at our dispossal called compliance tools, you reap what you sow!

  • with proper diplomacy and discussion there wouldn't be a need for "compliance tools". I was at this rally and while there was blame to be laid on both sides, the situation could have been handled way better by the arresting police officer and definitely the bylaw chick.

  • Our society, simply put, has rule. All you people out there who take for granted the rights that we soldiers selflessly risk our lives for, are in my opinion out to lunch. It's easy to sip your lattes on a green lawn on a nice summers day and puss and whine about how YOU think WE shouldn't be in Afghanistan or whatever. You have that right (which many of my friends have died for btw)

  • So they're charging the police with enforcing the law as a crime? What a world.

  • you weren't there. I was. Imagine being an event organizer who has rented a bandshell but the city does not provide a proper loading and unloading zone for the stage. A good deal of the blame should be rested on the city of vernon for not providing appropriate access in the first place. How can you have a stage with no access? makes no sense and creates conflict.

  • IS not fucking safe anymore. You don't do anything wrong, they do what they want. You listen to them, they STILL do what they want.

  • net time, dont interfere with an arrest, and dont park in fire lanes. Pay your parking fines, and you wont have probelms with the police

  • that firelane was not setup properly and infringed on the stage loading zone. so next time, make comments about things you know about. were you there? no? I was. As a city planner I can tell you the firelane was setup illegally (no access for the stage). Should the guy have paid his fines? yes. should it have come to this? no way!!!

  • Next time they don't move their cars, use the taser, cops!

"Why shouldn't I have been allowed to park there?"

Uh, because it was a fire lane.

Should have used the whole can against these weirdos.

  • I was there, the fire lane did not allow enough area for loading onto the stage (a design flaw). The car however was (legally) squeezed into an area that was not a fire lane (no yellow lines). She ticketed him anyways (the bylaw officer and driver had a bad history. The city should have provided a proper loading zone for the stage. Also the "fire lane" was more then double wide, you could have driven 2 firetrucks side by side down that lane and still have passed his vehicle!

  • the video "Vernon Peace Rally Bylaw Shenanigans" actually shows he was legally parked. the concrete sidewalk the kid on the lower right is standing on is actually the stage loading pad (where you're supposed to load to the stage)! The yellow lines stop before the pad and doesn't begin again for another 15-20 feet (the zone his car was in).

  • ur an idiot!! u shouldnt use taser's on people who arent moving there car u retart! ur the weirdo for thinking that u dumb cunt!

  • hello

  • The most entertaining part of these videos has to be picturing people typing these vulgar, diluted comments: sitting there at their e-machines, with a big vein exploding out of their forehead b/c they read something that disagrees with their small minded ideas. It's the best part of waking up.

  • Sicilia rule one..If no money, no participation. Rules too--Collusion and technology and corruption to the highest levels of government have left the negative capitalists, the predatory, in control. We need new weapons and methods to overthrow the IT that has taken power. If we die, it is better than to live as a slave to a lesser being. saintrambone has videos of abuse and Mobile Audit Club has proof of forced injections

  • If you parked a car in a fire lane anywhere else, they would just ticket and tow it, so whats the deal here? There CANNOT arrest you for that!

  • Good, then they can pepper spray you also.

Follow the orders of the police officer.

Are you a cop? I didn't think so.

  • what happened? not just whats on tape?

  • the guy did not give him a hug. he was holding onto him so the police could not escort the arrestee away. he did not immediately spray him. next time don't interfere with police business.

i know this comment will upset the people who are against laws and a civilized society.

  • Oh boo fucking hoo. You were protesting, which usually means blocking something or hindering the daily lives of more than 1 person. You wanna do this, you'll get pepper sprayed. Pray you're lucky you were only sprayed and not beaten like european or african cops beat people when they crack the shits

  • I hope they know they have it coming, the police that is.

  • have what coming? what are you gonna do? i work in memphis, i'm in the middle of a transfer but i'll even tell you what ward i'm in when i get moved. So please i would like to see just what we have coming!

  • haha you tell 'em. I'd like to see these people live in a society without police.

  • "Without gun confiscation, the streets would not be safe for the SS."

    -Adolf Hitler

  • IT"S A FIRE LANE IDIOT!!!

Don't interfere with the police no matter what you feel, stupid!

  • magnuson grabbed onto the arrestee so the officers could not escort him away. rather than physically separating the two they used pepper spray to minimize injury. next time don't interfere with the police.

  • F*ck this cop.

  • She was kinda cute.

  • cops look for any reason to play the "I'm the bigger dog syndrome" Screw them

  • EVERY woman police officer I've ever dealt with has the 'little dog' syndrome. They must be a 'type' that joins the force or the training must beat in a 'you better be tough enough' mentality. Just be human, don't be pitbulls!

  • Honestly, it's tough. Even though this was a peace rally and no one was trying to hurt or kill the police, irrational people will not allow you to deal with them in any way except total compliance with their idea. It all started with "Please move your car."

  • Totally, the police got very irrational, they needed to let him move it or let him keep it there, and just ticket him in the mail. Arresting was ridiculous. It's just a car in the wrong spot!! The bylaw cop could have just asked him to park on the grass. They do that at most rallies and festivals. I think this screams discrimination. Cops don't like hippies, plain and simple.

  • I like hippies. I don't like people fighting or arguing with me over a matter of law and public safety especially when they regularly discriminate against the police.

  • Zombie - you're a dumb motherfucker, I'll discriminate against you, dickhead. I'd love to see an idiot like you get shot to death just as much as I'd like to see some pig get shot to death.

  • Oops! Did I disagree with you? I suppose I deserve death then. I don't understand that but whatever gets you off, psycho. Discriminate away.

  • You're the one named "zombie" you fit that description.

  • man chill police brutality will never stop

  • True but it's shame that the term "police brutality" is thrown around too often. In the same regard, people will always be testing the system and breaking the rules to see how far under "the man's" skin they can get so they can scream "police brutality." Vicious cycle. Morons like Mr. Death don't help anything.

  • I was in vernon yesterday, looking at both sides of the story the cops were totally justified. sorry boys.

  • Hey asshole, it was a peace demonstration and bullies like you brought violence to people promoting peace. The cops, and you included, should all be hanged in public.

  • scaredniglet, do not blame the police for the actions of the dumb.

  • Your gay

  • Yes, get all up in arms about someone getting OC'd and bruised for resisting and obstruction, then turn around and promote the murder of someone who's doing their LAWFUL, SWORN duty. You are a criminal and a terrorist. If you want to change things try addressing the government.

  • police brutality

  • You're absolutely wrong. The police were abusing their power without good reason and in any case, the pepper spray was entirely unnecessary. I was there and the polie are at fault.

  • lhypnotist, should we disobey all laws or just the ones we feel like ?

  • It's true, the peace people were disobeying the laws, which was unnecessary, you're right. But the thing that was wrong was how much force the police used without reason (and the mace etc.). As for how the whole conflict started, it was just a huge overreaction by everyone. No one was at fault but our own egos. What I was referring to was the unnecessary violence.

  • LH, ok how would you have handled the guy hanging on to his friend ( and the mace)?

But please tell us when you would use force to get him to comply.

Have you ever worked with crowds ?

Do you know how quickly they can get out of hand ?

I did not see any violence, I saw limited force to restrain a person.

  • Cold Truth: (Ironic name) The guy hanging on to his friend was just hugging him, there's nothing wrong with that I would have told him that he would just have to get in the car with his friend if he wanted to instead of straight up pepper spraying him. I would use force only after someone used force against me (if I was a policeman) and that's what they are taught, but obviously they don't all comply.I agree that it was not full out fighting violence, but it was violence nonetheless.

  • LH, " just hugging " ? his friend was under arrest,

His friend was interfering with the police.

He even admit that " you should not put this man in handcuffs "

  • LH " I would have told him that he would just have to get in the car with his friend if he wanted to"

He was told 3 times to move his car.

How many times would you have told him? 10, 50, 100

With him blocking a fire lane and his other 7 unpaid tickets, I believe he feels he is entitled to park anywhere he pleases, and no amount of warnings are going to stop him.

Did we watch the same video, or did you just look at the pretty pictures ?

  • Well, obviously you're missing out on some facts.

Fact: The third time he was told to move his car, he complied, but the Bylaw officer snatched the keys out of his hands before he could actually move the car.

  • Fact: The 7 unpaid tickets are irrelevant, as they have nothing to do with the current situation of the Peace Rally.

Fact: Although where he parked was illegal, there was plenty enough room for a fire truck to get by if it needed to. He parked further off to the side intentionally so as to not block the lane.

Fact: He was "hugging his friend" not the police. Is it illegal to hug? Is it illegal to not want your friend put in jail?

  • as for the unpaid ticket, why not just do away with parking tickets, if people don't have to pay them and just let people park where they want .

As for parking off to the side with "plenty of room" in who's opinion, your or the fire dept. ?

No it's not illegal not to have your friend go to jail, it is if you try to stop the police from doing it.

  • CHT ; I'm just saying that the parking tickets had absolutely nothing to do with the conflict anyway, they found that out after. Anyway yes he was in a fire zone but so what? He didn't deserve to go to jail for it. And he tried to move when threatened but they wouldn't let him. YES what he did was illegal but it was a "minor" offense! No excuse to use weapons and violence.

  • LH, Even tho I can get you to see that everything he did was illegal, you can't seem grasp the idea of laws. Maybe we should do away with all laws, do away with Police too. I have never needed the police to protect me ! It was always the other way around anyway. May the one with the most guns win, for surely the police will not be around to interfere.

  • CHT you must think that the entire thing that happened was extremely out of hand! Really, nothing much happened except for an over reaction. I have nothing against laws, only against people who enforce them that abuse their power needlessly

  • The point is not that the peace rally organizer did the extremely minor offense of parking in a fire lane, the point is that the police reacted in a violent and unnecessary manner. The whole thing could have been dealt with calmly and no one would have been hurt.

Yes we watched the same video. Maybe the pretty pictures are the only things that you're looking at? I didn't see anything pretty about the video at all.

  • I have worked with crowds and I understand where you are going with your defense, but if you had been there you would have seen that the situation escalated more because of the cops than the people who had disobeyed the law. The crowd didn't help the police's sanity much either but that's beside the point.

  • Please Google "the city of Vernon". On the opening page, bottom right, click on the "online comment card" link, let them know what you think.

    Dear Vernon City Council.

After viewing the video of the RCMP beating up on an old man...........

  • Since when the hell is a bylaw officer allowed to use physical force? Canadas finest?

  • i have no problem with police that act properly we need them but the ones that act like this we do not.

  • The Facts, can anyone argue with the facts ?

    Parked in a fire lane.

Was asked to move car, three times.

    7 unpaided parking tickets.

    Resisting arrest.

    But the biggest crime was,

he thought he was above the law.

But you people want to blame the police.

  • but they were not violent,so why does it justify being pepper spayed, that is ment for people that act violently not PEACEFUL people that wish to voice their disagreement with a situation,i have been at many rallies in london and seen non violent people getting smashed over the head including an old woman, all she had done is told a copper that he did not need to hit people like that,he then hit her on the head with a baton, she must have been at least 70,

  • djbreedduk, how many times should you be asked to move your car before it's towed ?

Do you know what fire lanes are used for ?

And having 7 unpaid parking tickets,

Why have parking laws if nobody has to obey them.

Should we do away with ALL laws ?

  • even if you have been asked 50 times, tow the car and deal with it in a non violent way,if they then were violent towards the police it would be a fair reaction as self defence this clearly was not,as i have pointed out it is to be used in situations were the police have no other options,i.e. a man threatening them with a bar or the like.

  • WHAT?i did not say they were not in the wrong but the police clearly overreacted,i obey the law but do not think not having paid parking tickets and being parked in the wrong place warrants being pepper sprayed

  • dj, go to time line 1:40, they were try to tow the car that when the trouble started ! I imagined he tryed to stop the car from being towed, he was then arrested.

How come no video of that ? The police were stopped from completing their arrest, he then resisted arrest.

Do you know what a fire lane is and the important to have them clear is ?

  • BINGO! well said. RCMP have to deal with many things in their careeer that we do not see or hear about and to deal with people like this that believe they are above the law is frustrating. A peace rally I thought would be one to comply with the laws written and not try to interfere with good people doing their jobs! Try to help our police instead of pestering them!

  • Maintain the peace.

If the stupid cops wouldn't have done anything, there would have continued to be peace. Christ.

  • when at a peaceful rally and you see an innocent peaceful demonstrator being attacked by the stormtrooper style nazi police dont just stand there attack them there is more of us than them, doing nothing in a time of oppressive violence is itself a form of violence, the time to revolt is now what are we waiting for talk is cheap, fuck the policestate and fuck the nwo

  • Good idea.

  • Comply or we kick your ass. This over parking, that was a huge strip. I think they could have allowed him to unload. This isnt stalin's russia use common sense people.

  • there will be a day when america has no choice but to fight back..I am ready to ...

  • Why do we accept police excuses????? disband and fire criminals in the police dept. who attack our citizens! It is your fault if police like that keep their jobs you lazy people, act like citizens and do your duty to remove violent people from law enforcement!!!!!

  • oink

  • I live in this area in Canada, people mysteriously die in their custody all the time. If they try to arrest you in BC you better look out, minor cases of gunshots to the head seem to happen. This isnt America, but its the same crap, we all live in a police state that exists to quell the growing dissent.

  • police in america = gestapo in america

  • garylandy, thanks for the laugh,

I take it you got deported last time around.

    Ecuador's police Rule !!!!!

  • we got nothing to loose anymore, but you do! and i didnt mean it as a laugh man, it is sad when such and institute like the states goes down the drain like another god damn fascist regime.

  • gary, I have been a biker for over 30 years, I know what freedom is. I had problems with the police when I was young and stupid. I grew up and got smart, some people don't grow up or get any smarter. Where is this fascist regime, myself and 20 million other bikers are ready to fight.

Listen to the video again, pick out the facts, and only the facts.

  • the problem with this kind of fascism is that one has to fight no enemy but his own habits to consume and his own "way of life". the capitalist fascism is structured to give you the feeling on freedom but it actually controls you by giving you things you cant do without later...

  • police in america = gestapo in america
